“We are regulars here because the service is top notch, the food/sushi is excellent, and the bartenders remember us and our favorite drinks every time we grab a seat at the bar. The Rose Roll is second to none, the Ramen is bomb, and my partner loves the Lemon Cilantro Roll as well. It can get really busy late night on the weekends and sushi during these times can take a long time to come out (understandably) so plan ahead, be patient and kind. Mahalo!Parking: The ground floor of the parking structure next door is free for restaurant parking! And it has EV Chargers!“

“Food is really great but yeah service was slow. My daughter had the seafood spaghetti, my husband had the lasagna, i had the build your own pesto pasta. Their pesto pasta was really good. The dried tomatoes on it was so good. Pesto sauce was creamy. I had shrimp and meatballs on it. Chicken and shrimp would have been better. The build your own pasta is good for two especially if you're having 2 kinds of meat. Their meatballs was big and good, that would be great with the spaghetti not pesto.“

“Love this restaurant . It's the only one left in San Diego and Gem. We had an amazing server (Ally) I wanted to give her a shout out because she was actually a Host helping , but we did not even know. She was knowledgeable , speedy, attentive. It is hard to find great customer service these days but El Torritos staff has a lot of great employees , and their Manager is always so supportive of his employees and positive ! And Most of all the food still tastes like it used to, it is a blast from the past in a good way. We love the lunch specials especially the unlimited soup and salad. Also the decor is classic. We hope this restaurant will be here for many years to come . It's a perfect place for family gatherings , or just a small intimate get together . They have a menu with something for everybody and the prices aren't out of control.?Vegetarian options: Veggie fajitas, if you are one who eats cheeses, they have cheese options.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options.Parking: There are plenty of spaces , and handicap is in a nice spot.Kid-friendliness: Kids menu , I take kids all the time.Family atmosphere.“

Bolt Brewery & Beer Garden Brewery • $
8179 Center St, La Mesa

“Came here on a weekend afternoon to try some beers. There are picnic tables outside and they had a Mexican food cart in front of the brewery. This is a nice brewery tucked away in La Mesa. Unfortunately I didn’t care too much for the beer selection that they had, there was nothing that really well with me, but I really enjoyed the location and the staff were very friendly. I will pop in another time when the tops rotate to try out some more beers.“

“From the outside it looks a bit deceiving. Dark area but relatively safe. had been coming here for years and it's always been one of my favorite local dive bars until I moved on temporary assignment for a few years. Now that I'm back its still the same chill vibe, decent crowd and good spot to shoot a little pool and meet a friend or 2 for drinks. Has a patio as well as great service and food when they. are serving.“

Pete's Place Bar • $
8330 La Mesa Blvd, La Mesa

“My parents and I stopped in to have a post-run/walk cocktail and were able to snag corner seats at the bar! Everyone was welcoming and we loved this place right off the bat. They had my favorite beer on tap so that's already 4 STARS right there!! My mom got the Bloody Mary and that thing looked DELICIOUS! Apparently the bacon they use was SOOOOO good! A few people had them and everyone raved! Prices were decent Many beers on tap!! The bar itself is nicely decorated with framed jazz artists pieces! Very cool! A very New Orleans type vibe. And a pool table to boot!! Parking in back as well is a plus as you know this area it's hit or miss. We already talked about coming back....you should too!!“

The Regal Bar Bar • $
8344 La Mesa Blvd, La Mesa

“I was introduced to Regal by a friend because she was hung up on a guy who lived in the area so of course she found any excuse to appear in his neighborhood all prettied up on a Friday night. What better way to coax me into co-lurking someone? Oh I don't know, cheap alcohol? Well fortunately nobody endured the awkwardness of running into the man in question but I'll say that Regal may be La Mesa's one little gem worth visiting. I don't know if it's because I'm in my 30's but I prefer Regal over Coin Haus and The Hills. Why? Let me break it down: - Full service bar vs. beer only - No line out the door vs. line out the door - Mature locals vs. barely 21 IG content creators - Bar on the main strip near cute shops vs. the isolated bar up the hill So if you want the IG story tag with the novelty bells and whistles, the lukewarm beer, and the sub-par food, you go to Coin Haus. If you want something isolated and away from the main strip where you need to line up outside with all the Riff Raffs and Eminems, you go to The Hills Pub. I've done both a handful of times but I prefer the affordable and clean Regal bar where I can choose my usual poison then disappear into the patio. What else can I say? It's a local bar and it's not a bad one.“

“Sunday was fun day at the most recent La Mesa Octoberfest. Thank you Hanna and Yelp for the tickets bit this was a blast. I like Sunday's because they can be a bit more mellow nit still provide all the good times. Just less people. The bacon wrapped dog was legit as was the German beer. “Great doesn't even begin to describe Konnichiwa. I come from a family that has fished in SanDiego for the last 60yrs so I am well aware of quality of seafood. This establishment is the bomb. Chef Juan and his crew prepare your plate with flair and fashion. Quality of food is impeccable. Fresh, fresh, fresh and the service is first rate. Amanda, Ben, German and Julia serve you top rate from the moment you step inside greeting you and making sure the fantastic flavors are to your liking. Carol the owner should be proud to have employees that care about the quality and service they deliver. (No after COVID customer service here) Don't let the size of the building fool you. Small but japanese style seating. Fantastic atmosphere with emoji style comic book flair everywhere. ありがとうございます, Domo arigatou and thank you. Super glad to have met you all and hope to see you in the future when I return to my homeland roots. Ciao.“
