“Your normal local dive bar.Crowd can be a little so so, however tends to not ever be packed.There was always some sort of celebration that would have a potluck, they were always friendly enough to ask you if you wanted to join.We would go for our quite date nights. Round 8 ish to 10 maybe 11. Pool, cheap drinks, interesting people watching and comfy clothes never stood out.“

“The bouncer here was so kind and friendly, he made *my night after the bouncer down at seven grand was pretty rude to me (and I wound up having to pry my id out of his hands after telling him I wouldn’t be coming in- based on How he was treating me over there). I had let my date know I wouldn’t be going in to the first place and said I understood if he didn’t want to go elsewhere, but he came out and we walked down to this bar instead…here, the bouncer had a whole different vibe: he was attentive and watching who was coming in, but he was warm & welcoming. I got an apple martini (yes, I’m a little older but it’s a great drink) and it was so incredibly good and well made. I felt so calm and relaxed in this atmosphere- the bar tender was also very chill and polite. I drove from pretty far but I would definitely come here again. Thank you so much for making my night better after the other bouncer was so rude. Not the best date ever but the drink was amazing

If theres a beeryou wanted to try this is a phenomenal opportunity. Played for about 45 min, 2 ppl cost $27 incl good tip. Sundays are free play all day. I'll be back“

“My wife and I stumbled upon Majorette while exploring Rolando Village. It looks like a dive bar, but it has a really good beer selection and great food. I'm a fried chicken sandwich snob, and it doesn't get much better than their fried chicken thigh sando. The only real option for my wife (who is vegetarian) was the grilled cheese sandwich. While it was delicious, it would be nice if they would at least offer an Impossible burger substitute for their smash burger. I also wish they were open for lunch instead of just dinner, but such is life. We will definitely be back soon!“

“What a great place!! We stumbled across this place when we were out to dinner. The staff is friendly and kind. The owner Deano does all the work with the awesome bands they host on the weekends. From Country to hard rock. We haven’t heard one band we haven’t loved. If your looking for a great bar with great music this is the place. Everyone is welcome in this bar. Great atmosphere and you can even order food and eat while while you listen to fantastic music or play pool and watch sports. This is a true fabulous neighborhood bar. Come And enjoy. “local feel type hangout spot but still very cool in ambience/theme. They are known for PB Stout, but i personally do not enjoy it but I know majority does. There other beers are passable. I have had many of there products in cans and I was excited to come and try the taps/draft but just never really got to it.“

“Definitely not a place that gets going all night like a club would but a very cool and quaint spot to grab a drink with a group friends. Pool tables and a variety of drinks on tap. Bartenders are receptive as well. Juke Box is a plus to play music of one’s choice.It’s honestly kind of it’s own place in the middle of everything, but wouldn’t mind staying here for a night and drink the night away. The Elwood is nearby too.“

“Craft beer places are a dime a dozen in SD, but I knew after one visit that Machete is easily going to become a favorite water hole to visit when I am in the mood for a good variety of craft beer. They have a bunch of different styles, and a selection of beers from breweries that I either haven't heard of or never tasted before. Love that. It gets boring seeing the same 3-4 breweries at every place that offers craft beer in SD.Vibe is super chill, casual and divey.Staff here is really nice. I didn't get his name, but he let me try a few different beers and gave great recommendations based on the styles I like.No food here, but the Papi’s Teppanyaki food truck is here from time to time. Check their IG for their schedule. Not sure if there are ever other options since I only recently found out about this place.Cheers!Edit: I came back a second time and the super cool bartender's name is Jett. If you come in on a day he's manning the bar, you're in great hands. :)

She absolutely nailed the Spicy Mamacitta and the El Manjoclaw. Both drinks were perfectly balanced, bold, and flavorful — you can tell she knows her craft and takes pride in every cocktail she makes.
