Fish 101 is a low-key, super casual spot in North County San Diego that serves really good seafood. Guests order at the counter and grab a seat. The menu is simple but dialed, with standouts like the fish tacos, mahi tacos, yellowtail tacos, poke bowls, fish burrito, ahi poke, fish sandwich with crispy fries, mahi plate, grilled shrimp plate, and their curry. Everything is made with quality, fresh ingredients. The grilled romaine, Brussels sprouts, and broccolini are very good, and the clam chowder tastes homemade. The staff is very welcoming and kind. The vibe is laid-back, a little busy and noisy, but in a good way. It can get crowded, especially on weekends, but the line moves fast and the food is worth the wait. It is a good place for a healthy and delicious casual meal, but also nice enough for a relaxing date night. The service goes a long way, as they take care of customers with issues like wrong orders. This place does not disappoint, and everything is great.
