“Loved the resturant and the employees were amazing, helpful and kind. While I know this is fine dining the portions are very small. My scallops tasted tinny. They are supposed to have a sweetness to them. In my opinion the method of cooking and seasoning was off. The appetizers were just ok. We ordered two veggie sides and they were just ok. If your using local veggies sauces are not needed to make them delicious. I realize I'm picky. The menu just may not be for me. Nothing sparked I have to come back. I wish it did. The staff was amazing. I feel like the restaurant needs a menu restart. Maybe something the chef and the cooks are passionate about serving.”

“As a local in & out loyalist, I regret to announce that my head has officially been turned with our new neighbors north, Crispy Burger. I say “new” because it’s new to me, as I was reluctant to try this truckstop-esq spot. But boy, do I tell you, if you’re a fan of smashburgers, look no further. The burgers, fries and milkshakes are divine. Combine this with great prices, exceptipnal service, and the delight of great ranch (this truly matters), it's a sure recipe for weekly cravings. Im so happy I live a stones throw away. Overlook the highway pit stop and do yourself a favor trying crispy burger ASAP.”

“This is definitely one of the best Korean fried chicken places I’ve been to since I actually lived in Korea! Everything is cooked to perfection, the portions are generous, and the pickled radishes are on par with any banchan in Korea. The service is great — it seems to be a family run restaurant that treats its staff and customers right. Get some spicy fried chicken, grab a bottle of Cass or soju, and you’ll feel like you’re back in Seoul”

“I have had many great experiences here. I usually sit up at the bar and the staff are all super knowledgeable and friendly. One thing to note is that it can get really crowded on days that are sunny/summer days when the beach is crowded. This goes for all of downtown Encinitas. Lots of people bring their dogs as well so that is a huge plus”

I liked the serving option for kids since they don’t eat much sometimes I don’t like to be wasteful.Parking: Really tight spaces and small amount of parking spaces too.Kid-friendliness: They have kids size servings and cups perfect because sometimes they don’t eat much.”

“Wow! This place is fantastic! The atmosphere is the perfect combination of beach casual, family friendly and still conveys that you are in for a treat. Fast and very friendly service made us feel right at home. Great drink selection both nonalcoholic and alcoholic. Now onto the tacos, I can't wait to go back! The grass-fed beef taco is heavenly perfection. Tender beef and so flavorful with the caramelized onions and cream making a magical sauce. The Cousteau fish taco was so fresh with the mango and cilantro adding to the simple and yet delicious taco. We saw a couple other menu items come out of the kitchen when we were there and I can't wait to try them all! Allergy and dietary concerns friendly for all. Parking lot in the back. Enjoy!”

“My family and I have been coming to chicks for 25 years and it has always been one of my favorites. I now am 25 and living in North Carolina and every time I come home to visit, chicks is my first meal. I would have it every day if I could. Their chicken is delicious as well as all of their sides to chose from and their corn bread is to die for. The owner and staff are like family and box every dish with love. “On Sunday morning my wife and I left Tempe, AZ at 4:00am and headed to San Diego for the weekend. Did we go to our hotel first? No! We drove straight to the Moonlight Beach Concession Stand for their chicken tacos. They're that good. The very first time we had them was at the Switchfoot BRO-AM event and we both said they were the best tacos we have ever had. We had them for lunch and went back and got them again for dinner. My wife said her coffee was also the best she has ever had. No exaggeration.”

Loved their appetizers as well - risotto balls with prosciutto and parmesan cheese, and fried ravioli with ricotta cheese. Their beer selection was great as well - a lot of nice local beer on draft. The mussels were out but the oysters were very good, the shrimp was the best, the tar tar was perfection, the smashed artichoke was the best side dish but guessing from what we saw you couldn't go wrong between any of them. “The location is amazing, right on top of the water! The seafood paella was delicious. Old fashioned was made just right. The coconut Tahitian cheesecake with green tea- pure bliss. I thought it was going to be hard to get into because it is such a hot spot but we were able to get seats out on the balcony and watch the sunset pretty fast (we did reserve and requested balcony table and they did let us know at first that they will try their best to accommodate, but can’t promise )”

Recommend, not many Asian fusion restaurants in the area.”

Fairly busy when we went and they didn’t have the vegan pancakes which I was really bummed about but the tofu scramble was good. Wish the kids meals had side options. The apples with the cheese pasta noodles was interesting and the portion was fairly small so if you have a kiddo with a larger appetite maybe get an adult entree. But overall nice spot. Great location. Would recommend trying at least once for the experience!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian safe for sure. “I frequently talk to my family members in Oregon, and several times, they would tell me, “we are on our way to Chic fil A, “ I decided to try Chic fil A , near my home in Calif. , and it’s now my favorite place when I eat out. My elderly twin uncles are very particular about food, and when I surprised them with two Chick fil A Market Salads, I couldn’t believe, they both loved the Market Salads so much, once a week I drive 35 miles to bring them a chick filet A market salad. They also like the Chick Fil A chicken sandwiches too. As a part time caregiver, The Market Salad makes it easy for me, I don’t need to cook that day, and my elderly , hard to please family members are happy. I also buy a market salad for myself, and if I have friends over for lunch. My friends like them too!”

“I love CJ because the meat is flame-broiled rather than grilled on a griddle. It’s better than Burger King. This location was good but be forewarned - they use paper drinking straws. That’s why I gave them 4 stars instead of five. How can the manager there not be aware that paper straws are universally hated. No, you’re not “saving the environment” by using straws that are made from cutting down trees from the rain forest. You’re making the environment worse because people have to use two tree-killing straws because they dissolve before you can finish your drink. Stop killing trees! Give us normal straws!”

“This place is awesome because they load it up. I got the 4 choice protein, Large, for 16 dollars and was amazed at their portions. Usually, a large is a place's highest option but Poki Poki had a larger option.Everything can be added without a fee except for the avocado.The place is nice too, it's clean and if you go at the right time, quiet. On this day, they had a movie playing to which I enjoyed half my plate. There was so much food that I'd have to finish it later in the day-yet it still felt like a full sized meal each time.The flavors are not the boldest when compared to other places but having almost every side gave it a good variety in taste. Regardless of the flavor, the fish and sides, salads and rice were all very fresh and delicious.”

“We were shopping in Encinitas on a Friday night when I spotted the front signage for Forchettaboutit Pizza. We decided to stop in for a couple slices. The joint was jumping on this Friday night and we had to wait a few minutes for an inside table. They do have outdoor patio heaters but it was still too windy to dine outside.We chose the white pizza with chicken and caramelized onions and their meat lovers pizza, and the Caesar salad with chicken. Everything was delicious.The salad was one of the best I've had. The meat was warm, so it was cooked to order and not refrigerated. It was juicy and had great flavor. The chef knows his chicken.The pizza was great if you don't mind a softer crust. It had a wonderful bite and really good char on the underside. Seasoning was great and the toppings looked fresh and really generous.Our waitress gave us a small ramekin of their marinara and it was sooo good. I will definitely try their pasta next time I'm in Encinitas.Service was excellent. All the waitresses had high energy, were fun, and very attentive.The only draw back was soda was from a can so no free refills.”

“Generally reluctant to get Asian food outside of Kearny Mesa but I was pleasantly surprised! Ordered the stone pot with beef and a side of kimchi. The bowl was well balanced with all the veggies and having the option to additionally season your bowl is nice. I will say that it does come with an absolute minimal serving of protein (maybe 2 or 3 oz total) in the bowl and $4 for a tiny side of kimchi is a bit outrageous (total serving size pictured), but can't deny that it was delicious. I'd prefer to go to Kearny but if I was around the area and craving bibimbap, it's a decent option.”

“Brought our family here for my son's 6th birthday breakfast before conquering Lego land and had the PERFECT experience. Started with the Hawaiian pancake, ordered the Greek omelette, Chorizo scramble, Huevos Rancheros and Waffle breakfast - everything was LITERALLY PERFECT. “Service was great!! The parking lot does get busy during the day when the rush hits. They do have alternate parking, which is nice. Came in on a busy day, high schoolers from the local area were in to have a delicious lunch. I don't blame them. Tried the San Diegan toasted for the first time and it was so good! Price for the full combo is decent. Really good. Dining in seemed nice as well. They had TVs, and a front patio to sit at. I would definitely recommend. The staff was friendly and professional to keep the rush steady. I'll be back for sure!”

“We had dinner at Cocina De Barrio. The ambience is very lively and loud but one would expect that from most restaurants. What was not expected was the cuisine. I use the word cuisine because the food is amazing. The presentation and preparation remind me of some Michelin star restaurants I've been to in San Diego. The staff is very knowledgeable regarding all the menu items and the many bar offerings. The staff was also very attentive without being overbearing. I'm still thinking about the guacamole dip made at our table. I highly recommend eating here. I know we will be back soon.”
