Excellent authentic Italian food & service. My husband has never seen me woof my food down so quickly. Pesto Pasta & Tiramisu! Wished I was eating that same meal right now. Grazie. Meeting the owner(s) was a plus.

Located in Encinitas, Forchettina offers an authentic Italian dining experience. This family-owned gem serves organic fresh food prepared daily by a talented passionate chef and owner. The warm and genuine service, provided by a very young and friendly owner and staff, creates a beautiful atmosphere. The pizzas have been the best ever tasted, including the Parma Pizza which was melt in your mouth delicious. Other standout dishes include the Italia pizza, the greek salad, artichokes, and the Eggplant Parmigiana sandwich. The best calamari, with breading just right and squid so soft and fresh, is a must-try. The spaghetti with arrabbiata sauce and chick offers a perfect spice level and tastes homemade. The picante pizza, with olives and jalapeno, is great. For dessert, the tiramasu is incredible. The staff provides outstanding service, even immediately exchanging a flat glass of prosecco for a fresh one. Arrive early for dinner by 5:30 as this place gets busy, or make a reservation if dining later. Forchettina is the closest to authentic Italian cuisine in SoCal.
