My boyfriend and I recently visit this establishment for the very first time for lunch, and I would have to say a big disappointment. Let's start with the food. We ordered the rocket salad with mahi mahi and the bowl with mahi mahi. The food came out quickly. However, to our surprise we did not know we ordered off the kids menu. The rocket salad plate was 90% salad and 10% fish. It was literally two small bites; and the same for my boyfriend's bowl. We thought it was a joke. However, we were hungry after a long drive. Second, dining area smell like spilled beer and dirty dish wash, and the left the cleaning cart right next to the tables. PUT THE CART AWAY AND AWAY FROM YOUR GUESS! The workers were not busy as there not many customer at the time. Many of the workers were standing around talking to each other. BAD SERVICE!! I give two stars for service because of the cashier/ waitress. She was very kind and the only one working. As far as the taste the food was okay, but I don't think we would ever come back here again.Parking: Small parking lot. But we got a space up front. The only good thing from this visit.

Whenever we are in Carlsbad, we take a short drive here. My husband and boys love fish, so this is a must when we are near. Tonight, we had the chowder, fish platter (comes with two sides), fish sandwiches (keep the lemon aioli), and the fish & chip. Oh, make sure you try their cole slaw, best I've ever had. All very fresh and full of flavor. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the employees are friendly.

Used to be the best in California, now the worst fish and chips I have had anywhere. Managed to be tough and overcooked while the breading was horribly soggy.I am used to places 1000 miles from the ocean and even they get it better. At fast food joints. Hell a McDonald's fish sandwich would've been an improvement.And when told "this dish is gross" and that is all.The response "cool."The worst thing a restaurant can do is not care when there is a problem.I can say the grilled fish I had three days before was great. The Baja fish tacos then were too. I know they can do better.They just don't care when they mess up. For that reason leave this place to their old accolades, they don't deserve your current business.

Nestled in a small shop with ample outdoor seating, the restaurant offers convenience, but fails to deliver on flavor and execution.Upon arrival, the availability of parking across the street in a dirt lot was appreciated. The customer service, while adequate, lacked the personal touch expected from a dining establishment. An oversight in my order, where guacamole was omitted from my burrito despite being paid for, set the tone for a disappointing meal.The chips and salsa, while fresh, fell short of expectations. The salsa lacked the depth of flavor and heat typically associated with traditional salsa, consisting primarily of diced tomatoes and onions.Moving on to the main courses, the shrimp tacos and shrimp burrito failed to impress. The shrimp tacos were dominated by cabbage with minimal sauce and overcooked shrimp, resulting in a lackluster flavor profile and tough texture. Similarly, the shrimp burrito, despite a well-toasted tortilla, suffered from bland beans and rice and overcooked shrimp lacking in seasoning.While the addition of extra chipotle sauce helped salvage some flavor in the burrito, it was not enough to redeem the overall dining experience. Ultimately, Fish 101-Leucadia fell short of expectations, failing to deliver on both flavor and execution. With numerous other fish establishments offering superior flavors and better-cooked seafood, I am unlikely to return.

Came here with a group of 6. Easy for us to get seated. I ordered the 3 deep fried shrimp tacos and my friend got 3 deep fried fish tacos. I did get to try both tacos, pretty solid. Would I come here for the price, not too sure!
