We had riesling, beer, spicy chicken wings, garlic noodles, and the yummiest over baked and glazed brussels sprouts. To top it off, we ordered the bread pudding cream brulee and I must say the flavors of the vanilla ice cream, bread pudding, chocolate, and creme brulee all melts in your mouth. get ready for a party 🥳 in your mouth. “The food is as good as it looks! I couldn’t believe it when my parents asked me if I wanted to go to a Revolutionary War tavern replica & museum near the beach in northern San Diego. Like, huh? But the building reminded me of growing up on the east coast, and the museum reminded me of how lucky we are to have this country & those who fought for it. I loved the cozy interior with brick and wood. My parents are regulars, so they know the server, and he was super nice. They have a great Old Fashioned, and we all got the Seafood Trio (mine with double cod). The fingerling potatoes were to die for. It was all delicious. Amazing Caesar salad, too. Definitely had leftovers. Excited to go back for their happy hour. Can’t wait to try wagyu sliders, mussels, and clam chowder. Seriously, it all sounds good. Definitely worth a trip! “Amazing food!!! We got a few things on the menu today. We got the firebird , cali dip , kids meal chicken nuggets . Let’s start with the firebird .. amazing sweet and spicy taste with big nice pickles to maintain the heat overall recommend this sandwich . The Cali Dip was delicious sweet and so much flavor I’d have to say one of the best “Tortas” I ever ate . The fries are the best !!! Sauces are so yummy. Everything was about $47 but SO WORTH IT!“

“My wife and I were recently craving some local beer and burgers, so we decided to stop by Karl Strauss Brewing Company. I was honestly surprised by how good everything was. The burgers were juicy and flavorful, and the beer selection was excellent, which exactly what we were looking for.

I'm not sure if the waitress delivered a special order to the wrong table . The sauce on it was good ,but meat and sauce isn't what I ordered..and the bun enclosed the meat completely. However everything else ordered was perfect and delicious. Over 4.00 for one soda seemed high.“

“Chicken Plus will always have a special place in my heart. I still remember when my dad used to take me here back in elementary school — it was our go-to spot for a delicious meal and some quality time together. Every visit was a treat, and even now, all these years later, I keep coming back.

The food is just as incredible as I remember — always fresh, flavorful, and made with so much care. But what really sets Chicken Plus apart is the heart behind it. Syd, the owner, is truly one of a kind. Every time I walk through the doors, I look forward to seeing him. He greets everyone like family and makes you feel genuinely welcome. It’s rare to find a place where the food and the people are equally amazing, but Chicken Plus nails it every time.

“A truly hidden café tucked between office buildings, it’s a bit tricky to find on Google Maps, and locating the parking lot can be confusing. I ended up parking on the street and walking in.

Once inside, I was surprised by how spacious it is, with plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating. They even offer discounts for employees working in the surrounding offices, which is a nice touch. The staff were very friendly, and they have free Wi-Fi, making it a great spot to work or study.

I ordered a latte, which was excellent, along with the classic avocado toast, easily one of the best I’ve had. Highly recommend this place, and I’m definitely looking forward to coming back!“

Great vegetable crudités that looks like you are pulling vegies out of a garden but taste delicious (just don’t eat the stems, they are a little bitter) ?
