“We wanted to try this place for a long time now. When we had the chance finally we ordered beef burger, chicken burger, philly cheesesteak, and 6 bbq sauce chicken wings. The philly cheesesteak was not that good. I liked the beef burger, and chicken burger was fine as well. However chicken wings were no go for me.
Did it make to my list of go-tos, most likely no but if I am around maybe.

“I had the Combo Over Rice, which comes with marinated chicken and lamb gyro meat served over aromatic basmati rice, along with a fresh salad of lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers.

Unfortunately, the meal came out only semi-warm. With this type of dish, it really needs to be served hot because the oil starts to thicken as it cools. Before I even finished eating, I could already notice the change in texture, which took away from the overall experience.

The flavor was decent, but serving it hotter would have made a big difference. Overall, I’d give it a 6/10.“

“I had the federation — half rice, half pasta — with one chicken suqaar and one beef suqaar. The rice was cooked to perfection, light and fragrant, while the pasta carried the spices beautifully without overpowering the dish.

Both suqaar plates were tender, well-seasoned, and balanced — not greasy, just clean flavor. Paired with fresh salad and banana, everything came together the way Somali food is meant to.

“I have eaten lunch twice in two weeks at the Shawarma Guys Mira Mesa location. It certainly exceeded it's reputation which I learned about from Gareth Eats channel on YouTube. I ordered the Wagyu Beef Shawarma Pita (Bryan's Way). It was outstanding, and the garlic sauce was finger linkin good. The following week I ordered the Chicken Cream Chop Shawarma Pita (Bryan's Way) and it was absolutely delicious with that lemon garlic sauce. Make sure to order it Bryan's Way. It comes wrapped in aluminum foil, over a foot long, toasted to crispy perfection on all sides. Keep the foil wrapper on while you eat it, otherwise you make a mess on the table, because it's so crispy, and you don't want to miss a single crispy bite.

One fact we discovered with great delight was they do not use any 'seed oils' in their cooking. That's an important healthful living detail.

The restaurant's seating area is small with efficient long tables seating 6 people per table, about 30 people maximum. There's a lot of take-away service happening here too. The staff took their time explaining all the choices to us, and gave us their favorite recommendations. We loved it and look forward to making this a regular spot. The space was very clean, bright, with plenty of extra sauce for the asking. It's not fancy inside, but it's delicious and worth the visit.“
