“Ok, I am from NY and love pizza. I am not a NYC pizza snob though and welcome all iterations of 'za! I have to say that this pizza is probably the best I have ever had of its type. They are "Roman" slices, meaning focaccia crust. Variety of slice options are insane with creative combinations that are not only imaginative, but insanely delicious. Slices are cooked upon ordering for supreme freshness. I especially like the Lussuria - prosciutto, black pepper, mashed potato, mozzarella and olive oil. (I NEVER thought I would like mashed potato on a slice, but it's insanely good.) The help here is amazing as well. Caesar was working the oven and he gave great suggestions and explained the product well. Very inviting and definitely steered me in the right direction. Need gluten free? They got it! Will make a GF slice for you right on the spot. I challenge anyone to have just one slice. I had to go back for 2 more. Enjoy!“

“Wow! This was the best pizza I have had in a long time. The crust was crispy and chewy. The sauce had so much flavor the cheese to toppings ratio was spot on. The pepperoni tasted so good. Like pepperoni is supposed to. When we first got out of the car you could smell the pizza cooking, it was all I could do to not eat a slice while driving home. We will definitely be back.“

“If you are looking for a true Italian experience in San Diego, look no further than Vinarius! We worked with Giuseppe (owner) to host our wedding celebration here back in March, 2023. From the beginning, he was amazing to work with. Incredibly positive and accommodating from the start, we couldn’t have asked for more. The wedding ceremony was planned to be outside and of course, it rained that day. Guiseppe and his staff went above and beyond to accommodate us, allowed us to have the small ceremony inside the restaurant on short notice and made an incredible meal to follow. Our guests were blown away and we couldn’t have been happier. We recommend Vinarius to everyone we know and that is thanks to Giuseppe and his awesome staff. Grazie mille!“

“Had a great meal and our server (Kezi) was super cool, very friendly and attentive. Food was so good. Got the spicy cucumbers, little gem Caesar, Blitzkrieg, and Margherita. Everything was very tasty! I loved the Caesar, my friend loved the cucumbers. The pizza: crust was on the thin side but sturdy, nice chew and char, pepperoni was perfect (cup peps, crispy, yummy); Margherita was an excellent of the classic.

Sat outside and it was very lovely, and they have lots of seating inside. Will definitely go again, and if they deliver, will absolutely order!“

Some personal favorites have quickly become the go to choices. The New Yorker is everything you want in a classic style pizza with something extra that makes it memorable. The pepperoni and mascarpone is ridiculously good, rich, a little indulgent, and completely crave worthy without going too far.
What I also really appreciate is how affordable it is for the quality. It hits that sweet spot of treat yourself food that still feels easy to come back for often.
I do not eat pork, so I especially value the variety of non pork and vegetarian options. The sweet potato and eggplant pizzas might sound unexpected, but they are executed so well and end up being some of the most memorable pies we have tried.
We have explored several combinations and loved each one. The option to split a pizza into two flavors is a game changer, and the recommendations from the team are always spot on.
On top of everything, the owners and service are genuinely friendly, welcoming, and amazing, which makes the whole experience even better.

If I had the disposable income I’d buy a private jet and fly to San Diego to eat here once a week and fly home, my carbon foot print would look like a slice of their pizza and I would okay with it cause my belly and soul would be content. “Best pizza I have ever tried. My son told me about Pit Pizza because that's what they eat at school. He loves it so much and made me curious to try it. We drove from La Mesa to Clairemont Dr just to try this precious pizza, mind you it's about a 30-minute drive. Got there and all the workers were very nice and I loved that it was a drive-through order. The owner was just amazing. We got home and boy, oh boy! It was worth every drive I made. The pizza was delicious. I'll be going there every Friday for some good pizza. Fridays are our movie night and pizza day in our house. Before I forget, he also let me have a dessert for free. “I’m from Jersey and a tough critic when it comes to pizza on the west coast. Slice house has high quality ingredients and I’ve enjoyed eating there, they can do basic or speciality slices well. My only criticism is they don’t always cook toppings fully (most like crispy pepperoni!) and when getting delivery or grabbing take out, your food will be cold. My advice would be to keep the pizza in the oven a little longer and keep the pizza on top of the oven when you’re waiting for customer’s take out/delivery. This will increase your stars and the customer experience!“

“This is the second year in a row we have stayed at Crystal Pier in San Diego. Both trips we have ordered deliver from SD TapRoom and all of our meals have been delicious. Last night was the best one for me though. I actually called them thinking they had deliver me a regular crust pizza instead of gluten-free (I have celiac). It tasted WAY TOO GOOD to be gluten-free, but it was! I have no idea how they made such a good crust (I actually said this can’t be what I ordered since it tasted so good)! The salads are also fabulous and my sister had the fish taco’s and loved them. Chili and burgers have also been a hit. Thanks for a great couple of dinners!“
