“Great dinner had at this restaurant. It’s a busy place so be sure to make reservations. We had the pasta with clams and chicken with kale…both were really tasty. We also had the beet salad and goat cheese appetizer…both were awesome.“
“We had a reservation, we ordered an appetizer, pizza and salad, all came out at the same time quite quickly, and while they were very attentive to our table we felt like we were being kicked out around the 1 hour mark so it was not as relaxing or paced out as we typically prefer. Great bread, pesto and marinara! Good burrata and pizza for 2, would recommend!“
“A shout out to Pizza Nova, especially Kristie, who has our orders memorized! My friend and I eat at Pizza Nova every Wednesday, usually around the same time. We sit in one particular area, and always place the same order. Garrett is also a great server, but we have a special place in our heart for Kristie. She's efficient, has a smile on her face, and makes her job look easy (even when it's not). Kristie takes great care of us, and we appreciate it! Thanks!!“
“Quality pizza that you will pay for.But that's good sometimes. One small pizza and a couple drinks is enough, the list is not intimidating and can be fun to look at.We had the What I think was the "Bees Mode" salami and hot honey and the "you saw it coming" pepperoni and jalapeño, names may be incorrect but I did have more than one drink.“
“This was one of the places listed for best pizza in the San Diego area in some article. The interior is actually really spacious. The food was really good. We got the octopus for the appetizer, pepperoni pizza, and pasta each. Pasta portion was pretty good. Not too much. The pizza was good but was a bit floppy.“
“I have been coming here for over a year now! The food is amazing, and the staff are outstanding! Mike and Kimberly are hard working and it shows when you walk through the door! Smiles all around and a great atmosphere!! I'm from NY and I have what it takes to really understand good taste as well as quality pizza! Love, “
“First time here. Been hearing about this spot for a while so decided to check it out. Ordered the Special, 2 slices and drink for $9! Had the sausage and a mushroom slice. Good flavor and crust, nothing extraordinary about it, but one of the better slices I’ve had in SD.“
“We had reservations and were still seated outside on the patio.... It was windy and chilly. Asked to get our seats changed, but they said no.Food was ok. Bolognese lasagna and burrata caprese appetizer was just ok. Nothing to write home about.I probably won't return.“
“My friend and I went here yesterday for their new brunch service and it was really great! The food was excellent (we had the fruit w/ mascarpone and I had the breakfast sandwich w/ potatoes) and the flavors were perfect. The decor was really cool and everyone that worked there was really lovely. I had no idea what to expect since we kind of found this place by chance, but I highly recommend it. It is in a bit of a random location, but don't be dissuaded by that. As an extra bonus, they have those amazing Japanese toilets in the bathroom, so don't skip that haha.“
“Excellent food. Generous proportions. The ravioli was especially good. Had half and half. Lasagna was other selection. Side salad was very large with a nice variety besides lettuce. Friends each had pizza and they were very pleased with them. One had half of her pizza with clam and garlic and wouldn't choose that again. The other half was especially good.“
“What a great place! Catania is run so properly; from management down. All of our food was great & the setting was perfect. But the standout was the Crudo. Also, Natalie was super helpful, kind & knowledgeable with guiding us through the menu. Great job to the manager, Steve & to his team.“
“The food was delicious and service was excellent but the ambulance was terrible due to how loud it is, been there for a Saturday dinner and I needed earplugs to avoid ear pain with how loud a few tables are. I understand it's out of control of the restaurant how the other patrons behave. The restaurant was spot on for their food and service.“
“Just got off a long day of work and wanted a relaxing salad and a beer. I went to The Shop Pizza and got there Chopped salad (chopped chopped baby gems, roasted chicken, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, bacon, candied pecans, goat cheese, house-made ranch.) with a beer. Even though I had this one once before (early summer when they first opened), I had to try it for the second time. This time it was even better!! They have it completely dailed in. Chef Jason working his magic behind the counter made this huge salad that can probably be easily split with a friend. I wanted to take half of it home but I ended up eating it all. Everything is hand made right in front of your eyes. So super fresh an delicious!!Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“
“The beer choices were good and the bar tender was excellent at helping to help me narrow it down for a flight of 4 beers. Don't listen to google, it was totally open on a Wednesday at 3 when google said they are closed on Wednesdays. The coco ono ipa was delicious! I'm not an ipa girl, I dislike hoppy beer, but the subtle coconut flavor made the beer delightful. But hands down favorite, so good I said "f*** that's delicious" after my first sip was the Ziggy Stardust sour. A must do while in Dan DiegoSide note: cleanest bathroom I've ever seen in a brewery, across the whole US. It's unisex, but it is clean! Thank you, the ladies, we appreciate that!!!“
“Don't know where to start. I wish there was more stars to give. Customer service was outstanding extremely kind people. Real pizza artist. Feels so fresh in the restaurant along with every ingredient in the food. Thank you guys for ur hard work“
“Good, clean pizza. A few tips.1/ Plenty of street parking2/ The protein crust is a bit dry, so ask for a buffalo sauce. We added some hot sauce on the side3/ Vegetables were fresh and crisp4/ Vegan cheese was indistinguishable from dairy5/ a personal pizza is sufficient for two people.“
“This restaurant is phenomenal - the pizzas here are always delicious, they have friendly folks behind the counter, gelato for after dinner and a great atmosphere to enjoy them all in. So excited they’ve been able to move into a storefront so we can go more often!“
“I called ahead for a pizza and got greeted by a charismatic and professional voice that made me feel valued. I mention I wanted to order a pizza, and I wanted to try a slice of a pickle pizza. When I arrived I was greeted by a pizza tavern with a mortal kombat arade machine in the corner.I got my pizza and a slice and it was absolutely mind blowing how good these pizzas are, not many places in san diego can come close the the flavor. The sauce was mild tomato flavor with a crust that I swear was infused with cheese.I highly recommend coming here and at least ordering a slice I promise you won't regret it.“
“The hype is real. I’m from the northeast originally and our pizza is great but I haven’t been able to say the same about San Diego. I’ve been on the hunt for a good pizza place after trying a bunch that were ok, but not amazing. Square pizza popped in a few of my Reddit searches. I live less than a mile away and can’t believe it took me til now to try it. This pizza is very good! This will be go to from now on. Price is reasonable too and staff is nice. I definitely recommend!“
“10/10. Forgot it was fire roasted chicken so I almost burned my tongue ? it was so worth going here for dinner. ? spent just under $25. Plenty of leftovers for breakfast if you save your leftovers like I do. ? does not disappoint. The wait is not a problem but I can see why some with no time may not like that but this is not fast food. So be prepared to also sit tight (about average - 10min or so while I found street parking and walked back). I promise you it’s worth it. :) This was so worth the quality of the food it just melts in your mouth. I could not finish all of it. Had to take it home. ? ? the atmosphere is so beautiful… plenty of outdoor seating. Indoor is for order placing and order pickup as well as their fire roasted oven and kitchen. It’s so good. ?Parking: Parking ?️ on the street. Plan to walk.“
“First of all, im going to use some strong language so please be advised. The food, fu**ing delicious. To start we had the White truffle garlic bread, and Wild Shrimp Scampi. The bread and easy 8/10 in my humble opinion, but the shrimp? Wooooof! Delicious! 9.9/10 and the only reason why is because there wasn’t more to enjoy. For our drinks, I had the “hazy ipa” which was great and my Wife enjoyed the Pomegranate Mule, which she said was excellent. She had 3 and I had 3 plus a version of “Green Tea Shot” which we love and was fantastic! For our dinner, I had the house specialty, my wife the chicken parmesan, and my kids the Shrimp Alfredo (off menu). Everything was splendid. Shrimp was fresh, chicken perfect and sauces were off the charts. Lastly, our waiter. Dear Thomas. You were amazing, Sir. Very polite, very knowledgeable, extremely helpful, and top of the line in service. Funny enough we were deciding between this and Cheesecake Factory, and we’re absolutely delighted we chose this. Continue this amazing service Thomas, and thanks for the incredible food North Italia. We are visiting from Phoenix and glad we ate here, looking forward to coming back.“
“my favorite restaurant of all time! the service is always impecable and it is the best food you can dream of for vegans and non vegans alike. they can cater to a wide range of allergies including (but not limited to) gluten free, nut free, and soy free. the wait staff are incredibly knowledgeable about the food and beverage selection and are so kind and helpful if you have any questions. the outdoor patio is beautiful with plants all around and the ambiance inside is lovely as well. my fiancé and i are having our wedding reception at donna jean and everybody at the restaurant has been so helpful every step of my planning. we are so excited to share our favorite restaurant with our friends and family. i would genuinely give 10 stars if i couldDietary restrictions: i can’t imagine a lot of dietary restrictions they are unable to accommodate.“
“We stopped in for lunch and we loved this place. The owner seated us and served us, so the service (and conversation) was outstanding. As nice and attentive as she was, the pizza was the star of the show. Some of the best crust and sauce we have had in San Diego and the cheese and toppings were high quality too. Top all that off with a fun, but still family vibe and a nice beer and wine selection, and you have yourself a winner. Find your way to Pacific Beach to enjoy this little gem - they’re doing things the right way here.“
“Finally! The pizza place I've been yearning for since I left the east coast. The sauce, the taste of the crust, the toppings, the cheese to sauce ratio, all done well. I got the truffle pizza which was excellent and the pepperoni which was nostalgic. It's close your eyes good and eat it slow type of pizza! The employees were kind and this seems like an establishment that has great customer service. I live in OB but will frequent and support this business often. Excited to have found it! Thanks for putting such passion into your pizza!“
“Delicious Italian food and attentive service. And while some of my favorite San Diego Italian restaurants, (I'm looking at you Buona Forchetta), are shrinking their proportions and raising their prices to fight off inflation, I was impressed with the portions at Ulivo and thought their prices were reasonable. My wife and shared the beet salad and eggplant parmesan and we left both full and delighted. I like the cozy ambiance too, but I went with 4 stars vs 5 because the cozy, packed space--at least on the night we were there--was so loud we had to shout to hear each other.“
“Me and my girlfriend had an amazing experience at Concepto Pizza. The sub I ordered was delicious – the flavors were just perfect. It’s not just food; it’s a taste experience that I’d recommend to anyone looking for a great meal. A must-try for sure!“
“Wow heard about Alexander's and went there after my wife's Art on 30th show. Unbelievable italian and we will be going back frequently. None of our meals weren’t anything but fantastic! Now parking is another thing - uber if you can.“
“Very good pizza, with the highest quality ingredients. Real Italian people run the place. Very cute elegant restaurant near the beach. Vegan pizza options available, upon request. Open later than most places.Vegetarian options: Vegan and vegetarian options.Dietary restrictions: Vegan and vegetarian options available upon request.“
“I like that they have food options. Can’t bring your own food since they have a kitchen… At least the food is good and staff are nice/chill. Good vibes. Call ahead if you’re trying to play during the week because of league. Utilize the online system to reserve a table on Friday’s/Saturday’s or else you might be waiting a while in the evening for a table. Tables are taken care of and it’s clean. All in all, good place. Would recommend coming here.“
“Caution, the food is HUGE! Our waitress, Tina, is the best! We ordered Chicken Parmigiana dinner. It comes with side of lasagna (recommend) or spaghetti/ravioli and soup, salad, and garlic bread. Super full for two. Their pizza looks amazing. We would love to come back for it.“
“It was a great experience!! The atmosphere stunning !! I felt like I was literally in Italy. The pizza and pasta are delicious and the service was top notch . Huge Thank you to Emily, Bruno and Gabi for the great experience! Highly recommend ⭐️.“
“Best in the city. Been coming here and ordering delivery from Sisters, for years now. Never tired of it, will never stop loving it. If you have a good taste for great pizza, you'll love it.They need to add ranch to their uber eats menu. I feel bad always asking for it when I order through uber eats. I try to make a funny request through the app for additional ranch. But listen if the owners read this, add it to the uber menu, i would buy it by the gallon. As for the restaurant in person. It is very clean, service is great, and they have a great selection of beer and wine. Ambience is great, its a very well maintained place. Also the bathroom is very clean and nice which is always important in a nice restaurant.Best pizza in daygo. Hands down.“
“The most delicious pizza I have ever eaten! The crust was light and fluffy. I have never had crust like that before. I ate an entire margherita pizza (only 450 calories) and I did not feel stuffed or bloated. The Chef took our orders and talked to us about his restaurant. We will definitely go back. A neighborhood gem.“
“Love this place. Their BBQ chicken pizza is my favorite. It's always the perfect crisp. I love all the toppings in this pizza. Very consistent. And their sweet chili & lemon pepper wings are really good. Packed with flavor. Tried the wagyu sliders but they were NOT a hit. Wasn't flavorful, kinda blain, basic and were so sad the tater tots had no flavor at all. But hella crispy. Atmosphere is cool, tvs and little bar top. The staff is ok. Overall, I'll keep going back.“
“Came across this gem on a trip to San Diego. After a wild night out the next day we were craving pizza and this place happened to be down the street from our hotel. The service was fast and friendly and pizza delicious. Let me tell you we loved it so much we came back the next day for some more and took some to go for our plane ride lol.“
“Really glad we stopped in and got pizza here! We're from Texas. Flew in and it was pretty late. The guy at the counter was super nice! We chatted about our trip and he was genuinely interested. We ordered, I need gluten free pizza and he was really helpful. He said it would take 15 min to make two pizzas and then when he delivered well within that time he apologized for the wait. No apology necessary, just was super great service and the pizza was so good too! Gluten free crust was crispy and not at all cardboard like some can be!“
“I didn’t eat because I ate about 20 minutes before I stopped in. The brick oven caught my eye and I had a few minutes to kill and wanted a beer. The selection of beer was limited but for a pizza eater that knows what one likes with their beer. Uber clean dining and galley. The masters know what they are doing. If I had a 3rd thumb, it would be up.Kid-friendliness: No sharp corners.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy“
“Insanely good pizza and gelato and so many fun options. Favorites were the Ira (meat lover’s) and the bell pepper pizza. The cacio e pepe one was simple but good, the potato one was fun and unexpected, and the arugula one was pretty dang good too. We had the lemon cookie gelato mixed with stracciatella and it was so good. Not crazy prices either.“
“GREAT PIZZA! If you are Brazilian you know it’s the best Brazilian style, if you aren’t then ask Uri for Brazilian specials because it’s the best.URI is also the most kind server; he is always helping with a smile on his face. Simply the best and his customer service is one of the reasons I keep coming back!“
“Over the weekend I finally got to try the fine dining restaurant Elvira (across the street from 3rd Corner in the former Bo-Beau location) that opened a few months back. Elvira is newest Italian restaurant from the same crew that run the very popular Cesarina over by Catalina Lounge. What an incredible meal! While inside the restaurant I forgot I was still in Ocean Beach and felt like I had time warped to Italy for a late lunch. I was a little overwhelmed by the menu so I asked my friendly server to point out a few favorites on the menu. I went with the Fettuccine Maiale E Spuntature and I’m glad I did. It was homemade fettuccine, braised pork shoulder, baby back ribs in fresh tomato sauce and pecorino cheese. I could instantly taste the high quality of food from the first bite all the way till the last. This plate was deliciously meat heavy under the thick fresh pasta. Their service was top notch as everyone was super friendly and attentive. From my first steps walking inside this restaurant, it felt like I was invited into someone’s home for a great home cooked meal. Elvira will definitely be a spot I’ll be visiting on special occasions. Highly suggest making online reservations as the reserved tables fill up pretty fast. They also have a bar that takes walk ins for dining but I’m guessing those spots will also fill up fast.“
“My family and I we love this place. Whenever we want to have a pizza birthday party, this is where we come. Food is always fresh, tasty, and delicious. The service is excellent. The owner is a wonderful person who always goes above and beyond for us. All the workers are friendly people. I love all their pizzas, but my favorite is the chicken Chipotle pizza ? ? ? and for people who are looking for a halal pizza joint. This is the place. “
“In a world of chain pizza options Zia's is a treasure. I am usually a deep dish, more cheese the better type gal. But the good crust, unique flavor options don't need to be smothered in cheese and fluff. I love yhis placeVegetarian options: I AM NOT VEGETARIAN, but I love many of the unique meatless options“
“Best kept secret happy hour specials, for food and drink! $5 amazing happy hour food specials including an excellent draft beer and wine selection, also $5!! You can literally order every item on the menu for under $40, and it's well portioned, super fresh, and just a super fab unbeatable deal! These days in 2024, San Diego's prices are soaring at warp speed, so if you're looking for a delicious fresh treat-yoself and on a budget yet eat a fine dining meal - Pesto Mission Valley, is what gives!!!“
“From the moment you step into Lefty's Chicago Pizzeria in San Diego, you're not just walking into a restaurant; you're stepping into a slice of Chicago itself. The atmosphere here has a unique charm that immediately makes you feel as if you're getting ready to head to Wrigley Field to cheer on the Cubbies. It's a little piece of Chicago pride right here on the West Coast. The staff at Lefty's deserves a special mention. Their friendliness and warmth add to the welcoming vibe, making each visit not just a meal, but a delightful experience. They go above and beyond to ensure you're comfortable and well taken care of, with smiles that are as genuine as they are contagious. Now, let's talk about the main event - the pizza. As someone who has experienced the deep-dish delight of Lou Malnati's in Chicago, I can say with confidence that Lefty's offers the closest thing you'll get to it in San Diego. The crust, the sauce, the cheese - every bite is a testament to the authenticity and care put into their pizza. It's a culinary nod to the Windy City that will satisfy both homesick Chicagoans and curious locals alike. In a city flooded with various pizza options, Lefty's Chicago Pizzeria stands out not just for its authentic Chicago-style pizza, but for the overall experience it offers. Whether you're a die-hard deep-dish aficionado or just in search of a cozy spot to enjoy good food and good company, Lefty's welcomes you with open arms and a slice of Chicago. Highly recommended for anyone looking to indulge in a delicious slice of the Midwest, without having to leave the sunny shores of San Diego.“
“?? BOSTON. BRUINS. HOCKEY.??that's really all I needed to know to love this place.but it also doesn't hurt that there's a freakin' phenomenal beer list ( taps, and also cans & bottles)(they tapped Pliny the Younger for couple days this weekend, to put the level of beer quality in context ??)and the food is killer as well - we loved everything we had, including the beer cheese mac n cheese, beer battered fries with a magically delicious aioli, and sesame teriyaki chicken wings.“
“We weren't supposed to be in San Diego longer than a trip from the Cross-Border Express to the airport, but we missed our flight. When we finally got to the hotel, their restaurant had closed for the night, then the first place we tried to order from closed while we were ordering. Fortunately, Yelp steered us to Little Italy Pizzeria & Past. A pair of calzones proved to be not only huge, but exactly what we needed to feel human again.“
“*amazing* food, superfun vibe, and a really great selection of guest taps (the BLAH house beers are, well, exactly as advertised - BLAH. ??♀️)I especially like the Highland Park Brewing beers (the pb stout Meryl) and the beers from Living Haus - standouts amid a week of standout beers! ?I had the Harvest pizza today - sweet potatoes, broccolini, really delish sauce “
“Best pizza in southern California bar none. The Alfredo pizzas are amazing, so are the deluxe and Mexican pizzas. I ordered an Alfredo special pizza with eggplant parmesan, which they were glad to do and it was super delicious. THE best pizza joint I've ever been to, highly recommended.“
“I ordered from this restaurant on a whim on a Friday night because they had a short delivery time, and my children were starving. We got a plain cheese pizza, which was really good. The crust is nice and soft and I really like the tomato sauce. We also ordered an Italian sandwich. It is so good, I ordered without Mustard and mayo and requested Italian dressing instead. They were thoughtful and put the Italian dressing on the side, so the sandwich was not soggy when I got it. And they put a ton of deli meat on the sandwich. We will definitely order from here again.“
“The whole dining experience was wonderful. The restaurant staff, food and atmosphere. Everyone was welcoming and made us feel so comfortable, like we were guests in their home. The wine suggestions were helpful and paired perfectly with our dishes, caprese appetizer, then lasagna and sea bass. We ended with an after dinner drink and an Tiramisu. Amazing food! Thank you for a memorable dinner! We will definitely recommend to others and return ourselves when in San Diego area.“
