“Eat here often since I drive a lot, ordered tacos and poppers , Jalapeño poppers came back a bit lacking, for the first time in a long time for the record. Called up, a Mister Carlos promptly apologized and fixed my order for me, little to no delay. Good customer service, good food, but watch them poppers.“

“This is a great stop to make if you are looking for some awesome fish tacos. It is off the beaten path of downtown SD, but worth the trip. Very small seating area and you may have to wait, but worth it! Nice staff and service.“

“Awesome little taco shop with excellent food and fast, friendly service. Nice simple menu, house made aguas frescas, and house made salsas are a great touch. I really like the adobadas (pastor) tacos with everything on them. They have Taco Tuesdays too!“

“Excellent traditional Baja California food with American potions. I had two tacos. I could have ordered only one. Both the fish and the cabeza tacos where spot on classic in flavor but were bigger than expected by far. Take away service was very fast. Less than five minutes.“

“As a local, among all the taco places I tried in San Diego, I’m certain that this place is the best. Don’t want to compare specifically here with other famous taco places in SD, but this place is the most similar to tacos I tried in Mexico. The tacos were made with extremely fresh ingredients and they were super tasty. Service is also very good! FYI, I went there in a perfect time like 4pm and there was so wait, but I saw the line was getting long when we existed around 5pm. Controversially, I personally have thought SD does not actually that many good taquerias (I think LA is much better) but I’m glad I finally found a very good one here“

“Been coming here since 2000s and never disappoint. We've moved due to the Marines, but everytime we are around the area, we stop by to eat. Prior to this, as a teenager been eating here, late 1990s. Always reccommend to all my acquitances.“
“Great place for quick bite to eat in downtown San Diego.
Ordered the chicken tacos (on flour tortillas)....delicious! They also offer complimentary self serve condiments: cucumbers, radishes, peppers & limes.
It can get super busy especially following a major event like a baseball game but the service is fast.
FYI...prices are high for street tacos but it’s in a busy tourist area. Recommend ordering a full meal (beans rice) if you’re really hungry as street tacos are smaller than regular size tacos.“

“Great tasting authentic tacos (cabeza, tripas and lengua) , simple quality ingredients, great and fast service, laid back atmosphere. Tried the horchata, naranja and jamaica- you can’t go wrong with any of these. We will be back for sure!“

“I frequent this taqueria at least every other week; if I could, I would daily. The food is always incredible, you can't go wrong with the taco de adobada or torta adobada. The staff are incredibly kind and attentive. One time they noticed I got shorted a taco before I did and gave me an additional taco. I didn't even ask for that, they were just nice. The music is always a vibe when you choose to dine in. Definitely a 10/10 experience every time.“

“The food is very tasty and they are big portions! Bonus they are very reasonably priced! The chili relleno is $4 and taste amazing, the carnasada taco was $3.50 and was a pretty decent size, and the flying saucer was $10 and was pretty big. Overall the food was really good! I would definitely recommend!“

“We had a great experience here. Even during the very busy memorial day weekend, the service here was fantastic. We were sat quickly, servers were attentive and both drinks and food came out was faster than expected.
The food was very good and fresh. We got the frozen paloma and Pina colada and both were very good. The restaurant itself was super clean and was very pretty. We would definitely come back or visit another location.“

“Great food and even better service. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. What really stood out, though, was the service, Mel, the manager, went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and genuinely happy with our experience. You can tell they care about both the food and the customers. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend this spot.“

“This is a great place to eat. The Western vibe is awesome and the service is pretty good. Not amazing, but pretty good. Waiters and waitresses are attentive, but when it gets busy, it takes them a little longer to come back around to you. They just hired a new waitress, so hopefully this has changed. The food is great though. It's my buddy's and mine spot to get a fish taco or quesa taco after a good mountain bike ride.“

“Don't be deceived by the food truck, this is one of the best street taco venues you'll come across in San Diego. As a native San Diegan, I'm continually on the hunt for Mexican food and I finally found my local hidden gem. The food was delicious, service was very helpful and incredibly fast and great value for the quantity, quality and experience. Check it out!“

“I live around the area, and I can assure you I won't be going to any other taco shop other than here. Cali burrito was amazing and the cashier stole my heart with her kindness. Not being dramatic either. Delicious food. Wonderful service. Ill be coming here regularly.“
“I recently had the pleasure of hosting a house party and booked Taco Picasso. I can confidently say it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. My guests LOVED it! First and foremost, the food was nothing short of amazing. Each taco was a burst of flavor, with perfectly seasoned meats and fresh, vibrant toppings. The menu offers a delightful variety, catering to all taste preferences. Whether you're a fan of classic carne asada, tangy al pastor, or crave something more adventurous like their mouth-watering fish tacos, every bite was pure bliss. The ingredients were evidently fresh, and the craftsmanship in each taco was apparent. But what truly elevated the experience was the impeccable service. The combination of phenomenal food and outstanding service creates an unforgettable dining experience. I can't recommend it highly enough and will certainly be booking their services for more of their delectable tacos. Thank you Ornela!“

“I love the food here so much specially the carnitas tacos and hot Cheetos elotes. Every one that works there is super nice until now. There is a new girl working as a cashier very rude dark skin girl and honestly I don’t want to go there just because of her. Hopefully they hire someone that’s professional.“
“This gem of a truck has the best surf and turf burritos in San Diego. The meat is juicy and tender + the combo of shrimp and chipotle sauce is amazing. I squeeze lime into every bite with their salsa habanera (it is HOT but delicious!). This place is easy to miss it as it is located in front of Pick Your Part but I look forward to coming back to eat.“

“Bacon breakfast burrito for under $10. I added beans to mine and enjoyed it with some green salsa that was very good and very Hot. I would stop by here and try this place again when working in the area. I used my debit card and it’s not a “cash only” taco shop.“

“I was in town for work and only had one night for dinner. I asked AI for best recommendations for Fish Tacos and California Burrito and it suggested Orlando’s Taco Shop. Both were excellent! The fish taco was very flavorful and the fish was crispy! The California burrito was awesome! They do it right! The fries are crispy not limp and they have perfected the tortilla ratio for burritos! In my opinion, one of the most underrated aspects of a Taco Shop is the red and green sauce they give with each order. Each of them was perfect! It got some heat, but not overwhelming. The flavor of each sauce is on point! I’m definitely adding this place to my revisit list when I’m back in town!“

“I read the reviews for this place and I was curious to try it, being Mexican, I’ve never been too impressed by tacos in San Diego, there are good tacos but there’s always something better down south.
I am not someone that picks a place for the atmosphere, I go places for their food, if the atmosphere is good I might stay longer but if the food’s good I’ll come back.
Which is the case with this place, the food is so good that I would travel back from mexico just to eat their ribeye tacos.
I’ve read about people complaining about the atmosphere here, there are too used to fast food joints, this is how a real taqueria feels like, it’s rustic, not sterile, there’s ash from the charcoal flying and landing in the furniture out back, loud music, informal service. If you can’t deal with that, go get yourself some fast food instead, this might not be for everyone. But the food…
The food is worth it, not sterile uberclean plastic setting we tend to find this side of the wall, this feels authentic, and tastes like the best in Mexico. The quality of the raw materials ids the best I have seen, even in México. Could the setting be better? Who cares, the tacos are fantastic that’s all that counts.
Bravo to the owners, we wish you great success, and many years in business so that we may comeback many times.“
“I been following Chris and his dad before they got this taco truck for a few years now, glad to see them still going strong. They have some bomb tijuana style tacos. I like to get the asada and adobada tacos. My friend is obsessed with their asada papa loca (baked potato). I haven't tried it but I will order that next time. Don't forget the habanero onions and the chiles/cebollas toreados, So good! P.s. Check their Instagram to see when they are open because sometimes they do special events and I've shown up and they are not here because I forgot to check if they were there.“

“I highly recommend Tacos El Vaquero! We had a hard time finding a good caterer for our reception that could fit our budget and needs. Tacos El Vaquero worked closely with us to ensure they could cater our event and meet our needs. A great vendor, and my guests were so happy with how delicious the tacos were. As a host, that’s what you want to hear! 10/10“

“Located near the Taco Bell. The raspado was actually good I thought it would take fake but it was quite good. My kid got the lime one.
I picked up some tostilocos not my favorite honestly. The lacked more toppings. But would go back to try more of the raspados since the syrups looked so tasty and fresh. They also have a nice sitting area to enjoy your treats. Very clean.“

“Very reasonable prices for delicious tacos. It was super busy but there wasn't any issue finding an open seat. Their salsa bar has a number of different types of salsa/aioli (avocado, chipotle, etc) and paired very well with the tacos. 100% recommend if you're in the area.“
