My wife had a Tamarindo Margarita and i had an alcohol free beer and both were exceptional. I had the three taco platter with Vegan, Barbacoa, and Mushroom Asada Black Beans and Rice while my wife opted for a Gabacha and a Baja Taco and the Churro Ice Cream Sandwich for dessert. Love it and going bach for Taco Tuesday and a Brunch soon.“

“This is a great stop to make if you are looking for some awesome fish tacos. It is off the beaten path of downtown SD, but worth the trip. Very small seating area and you may have to wait, but worth it! Nice staff and service.“

“We were thinking of crossing the border to get some authentic tacos but while we talked a local told us about Tacos el Franc. We were skeptic because we had tried tacos el Gordo the day prior and they were not good. But we gave it a try and boy did they taste good. The guac, the homemade tortillas, the suadero.
So good. The environment is clean and there is a lot of space. Would def return“

“I frequent this taqueria at least every other week; if I could, I would daily. The food is always incredible, you can't go wrong with the taco de adobada or torta adobada. The staff are incredibly kind and attentive. One time they noticed I got shorted a taco before I did and gave me an additional taco. I didn't even ask for that, they were just nice. The music is always a vibe when you choose to dine in. Definitely a 10/10 experience every time.“

“Stopped by for some lunch and got an incredible California burrito. Under $15 and a ~5 minute wait, the value and convenience were already notable.

The burrito itself was huge. Each bite was clean, a little bit of everything. The fries had a distinct crisp, the meat was tender and not chewy, the guac was good, both sauces were excellent, and it was seasoned well but not overly salty.

Plenty of indoor seating and the TV wasn’t insanely loud (pet peeve of mine!). Parking was straightforward but I can see it being tough during a lunch rush in this small lot.“

Excellent salsas, a horchata that was rich and not watery (maybe slightly too sweet), and the tacos (especially cabeza) are consistently solid. I tried the Cali burrito and it was excellent except for the fries being whatever, the meat was high quality. Not like some of those standard spots with meh carne asada. I would highly recommend this spot. I think the place is cash preferred?“

“I was in town for work and only had one night for dinner. I asked AI for best recommendations for Fish Tacos and California Burrito and it suggested Orlando’s Taco Shop. Both were excellent! The fish taco was very flavorful and the fish was crispy! The California burrito was awesome! They do it right! The fries are crispy not limp and they have perfected the tortilla ratio for burritos! In my opinion, one of the most underrated aspects of a Taco Shop is the red and green sauce they give with each order. Each of them was perfect! It got some heat, but not overwhelming. The flavor of each sauce is on point! I’m definitely adding this place to my revisit list when I’m back in town!“

“A "can't - miss" with incredible flavors, as always, and excellent service from Tom with helpful suggestions and attentiveness without being intrusive. Tom's the consumate server. We enjoyed the quacamole, and entrees including Papas Dulce and Tuscon chimichanga with braised short rib. Both outstanding, and highly recommend "pairing" these two and splitting with your someone special. Second visit after 1 and 1/2 years and quality remains extremely high.“

“This is a great place to eat. The Western vibe is awesome and the service is pretty good. Not amazing, but pretty good. Waiters and waitresses are attentive, but when it gets busy, it takes them a little longer to come back around to you. They just hired a new waitress, so hopefully this has changed. “I stop here every time I’m in this side of my neighborhood. Take the 15 freeway and Exit El Cajon Blvd, go East a few blocks but don’t pass Menlo Ave. Look for Fish and Birria signs waving. They have the whole parking lot just drive in! I usually have two or three Fish tacos (w/o crema) and a pop then they usually know when I’m done because my to-go order is hot and ready!! My grandson is very picky but he looks forward to their Carne Asada Quesa taco’s. I’ve tried a lot off their menu and have never been disappointed, ever. They also GIVE you a “Consommé” which is actually a small portion of their seafood soup not just the fluid, I’ve had whole shrimp in mine many times and small pieces of fish. They’re not stingy with their variety of hot salsas/chili pods and garnishes (limes, cilantro, onions and pickled onions. Lots of ice cold canned and bottled drinks to choose from. This is my only food truck I trust 100% and love their quality of cooking. You’ll agree too once you try them out!“
