“Okay what is there to not say about this location. You have a sweet tooth, you are on the right page. You are craving some Middle Eastern coffee or tea, you are locked in. Looking for a beautiful, calm and scenic atmosphere to enjoy with company, then Finjan is the place to be. Now redirect your Google Maps search to Finjan for an extraordinary experience not only for the quality of the desserts, drinks and atmosphere but for the incredibly friendly, funny and outgoing employees who make the experience worth going. Thinking you might feel a bit hungry, no need to stress because Tahini is right next door. I genuinely recommend this location as the overall experience continues to draw me back. Jazakallahkhair to Mahmoud, Osama and their incredible team for all you do.“
“What an interesting experience at this wonderful little cafe. The food and coffee are really excellent and a complete cut above. What is best however is the staff and service are uniquely friendly and good. Rarely do you go into any business establishment and see people genuinely seeming to enjoy what they are doing. At several points I saw the staff hugging one another which may sound weird, but it was touching. It was almost like some sort of real life, enjoyable sitcom with excellent casting unfolding in front of you. Wonderful.“
“The food items were delicious, great selection of interesting dishes. The wine list was impressive (we’ve been to major wine areas all over the planet). However, what we were most impressed with was our server Olivia. She knew the menu items very well - could answer any and all questions that we had. She expressed herself very positively. Rather than ask “are you still working on that?”; she asked “are you still enjoying your meal?” Rather than reply to a thank you with “no problem” or “no worries”; Olivia replied with “my pleasure.” When we go back; we’ll make a point of asking for Olivia!!!“
“My favorite place in all of San Diego. A locally owned restaurant that makes everything (bread, pastries, deli meats, etc) from scratch and does not compromise on flavor and quality. The açaí bowl and egg n’ biscuit sandwich are my favorite dishes along with their scones.“
“I went here cause of the large number of 5-star reviews on google maps this place has. I wasn’t disappointed. Very efficient service. Loved the ambience of the place. The breakfast croissant sandwich is a unique offering in the area and honestly it was so good.“
“It's been a while since I've experienced such aesthetic and flavorful delight!!!Every dish is a masterpiece, and the drinks deserve special recognition. The Tiramisu Latte has divided my life into before and after!!!I highly recommend it to everyone!!!“
“Stumbled across this wonderful coffee shop while visiting old town San Diego. A gem of a place, wonderful service and the coffee was delicious, there were 6 people in my party and we all enjoyed our drinks. I highly recommended stopping by and having a delicious cup of coffee or espresso.“
“Still dreaming of that vegan Churro Ice Cream cone… Wonderful and large selection of ice creams, many dairy-free choices, plus super kind staff (though they were working solo- so things were moving slow). The patio made for a nice sunny rest spot to enjoy our treats. Great kid-friendly spot.“
“Literally so incredible. We are not from San Diego but found this place on our last trip 2 years ago and loved it. I’ve been thinking that açaí bowl ever since and so for our trip this past week we purposely stayed somewhere close to here? we got bowls 4 times in the week we were in San Diego, if that tells you anything. The owner is so nice as well. Highly highly recommend!!“
“Portuguese inspired coffee shop with a pleasant outdoor space. Their lattes are hit or half-hit, depends on who your barista is. Their tarts are amazing. And their vibe is excellent. The loaves of sourdough they sell are made by a local baker. I wanted to love it, partially bc I love the hype, partially bc it was like $15, but honestly it was just okay. Prager Bros is still light years ahead.... Still, the place is fun, good quality, and adds a lot to the neighborhood.“
“Super cute coffee shop in Barrio Logan. It's also connected to an art gallery that you can walk through while you wait for your coffee to be made. I got the Espresso Tonic and my roommate got an Iced Orange Dream Latte with oat milk and both were SUPER good. The orange flavor was fresh and present but not over powering at all. My roommate also got a concha that he said was very good. Neighborhood parking is available, super friendly staff. Would definitely visit again!“
“The world's best kombucha! Seriously. Not too sweet, not too tangy. Just right. I've tried many kombuchas and none compare. The flavors are always great and rotate frequently. All natural ingredients. Really cool little shack right in Ocean Beach. I always love taking it to Sunset Cliffs and enjoying my kombucha by the ocean.“
“I love this place!I don’t live nearby but whenever I am in the area it is always the highlight of my day. The coffee here is amazing and the owner puts care into every drink that is crafted here. This is easily my favorite coffee shops in San Diego and I would highly recommend to anyone and everyone!“
“My favorite ever croissants. I’ve brought my entire (non vegan) family here one by one and they are just as obsessed as me.We got a cake once too and it was amazing. And I’m not even a cake girly. Also don’t miss the lemon bar ?Dietary restrictions: Vegan“
“Carne asada taco, sope, and shrimp roll taco plus a modelo michelada. Yes please! The flavors of meat and sauces plus the corn was so tasty. Local SD review…Flor’s is an old town Mexican favorite now. A lot of restaurants are here in Old Town just because town needs Mexican food for tourists, but this is honestly top tacos in San Diego. My daughter even commented “these tacos taste like the ones in Mexico!”The atmosphere and seating were comfortable and family friendly. Beer cups available with homemade chamoy and tajin. Recommend it!“
“I love trying out new brunch places and this one did not disappoint! Located in North Park— street parking only so just account time for that. Our party of 5 didn’t have a reservation and we expected to wait a bit. Luckily though we only waited about 10-15 minutes at 11am on a Saturday! The place itself is very cute, decorated with bright wood panelling and a large purple art piece by the check in booth. There was a decent amount of 2-4 person tables inside and on the patio. It looked like tables can be pushed together for parties of 6, maybe 8.Our server was attentive, helpful, and very friendly! It took us a bit to decide what to order since all of them sounded appetizing. Food came out fairly quickly despite the busy Saturday rush.Food:-Ube Cold Foam Matcha ($7.50): aesthetically pleasing and tasted so good! It wasn’t too sweet either and that’s without making any modifications to it.-The GOAT Sandwich ($16.50): I subbed with turkey instead of ham and it was delicious! Served with large pieces of potatoes-Waffle Churro Sticks ($16): shared with the table. Four “strips” of waffles served with a small bowl of fruit, jalapeño-blackberry sauce, and maple cream cheese for toppings. Go get this! The rest of our party ordered the Madi Wrap ($17), Oklahoma Onion Smash Burger ($18), and Chilaquiles Verdes ($17). They also ordered the Banana Bread Latte ($6.50) and Brown Butter Latte ($6.50) Everyone was satisfied and enjoyed their food.I’d love to come back and try out other food and the Tiramisu Espresso Martini!“
“I recently stopped by Christy's Donuts and picked up a dozen of their delicious donuts and I must say, I was blown away by the taste and freshness. Not only were the donuts and pastries incredibly delicious right off the bat, but they maintained their freshness even on the second day. It's rare to find baked goods that still taste amazing after sitting for a day, but Christy's Donuts truly delivered. Got 12 different kinds/flavors and had a hard time deciding which one to eat first. If you're looking for mouthwatering treats that stay fresh for days, Christy's Donuts is definitely the place to go. Highly recommend!“
“The "I KALE IT SMOOTHIE" offers a uniquely sweet and delicious flavor profile with a satisfying crunch from chia seeds. Packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, it's both a treat for the taste buds and a boost for overall health. This smoothie is a must-try for those seeking a guilt-free indulgence that satisfies both palate and body.“
“Saw this place on social media and had to check it out. First impressions: the aesthetic is so pleasing to the eye. Parking isn’t the best. They offer macaroons and cute, unique desserts. Their menu consists of teas and coffees. I went for the miracle pink matcha iced and my cousin got the miracle pink matcha hot. Personally, I do not like matcha and was hesitant to try it but it was really good! I tried the hot and it wasn’t too sweet at all. Definitely made with love. Not to mention how beautiful the drinks looked. I also tried the Berrylicious dessert, but personally wasnt a fan of it. The other desserts are yummy! I can’t wait to go back!“
“Our Family has been coming to the Red Sea Restaurant for the past 10-15 years! We really enjoy their delicious cuisine, full of flavorful spices and Excellent Customer Service! Shimé and Yeti are very customer oriented and strive to make your dining experience memorable. For Vegans or Vegetarians, their Veggie combination is to die for. It’s one of their best selling dish & most people love the 6-7 different veggie dishes that come as a combo. You can order it family style where everybody eats together as a family on a big platter or served individually on your plate! Your choice! But for the rest of us "Carnivores", their Special Kitfo, Sautéed Doro Wot, Zilzil Tibs & Gored Gored are at the very top of our list. After devouring the delish food, gulped down with a couple of cold Ethiopian beers, we always look forward to their Beautiful Traditional Coffee Ceremony (if requested) and drink their strong, freshly roasted Ethiopian Coffee that will leave you delighted beyond compare! This Restaurant is a MUST TRY, we guarantee you will be coming back for more!!!!!PS. Dont forget to try their honey-wine if you have a designated driver.. coz it will leave you Buzzin’ & Tinglin’ in the right places!“
“I wish I could give 10 stars. I really love Rose Donuts! I've been going frequently since I moved back here a couple years ago. I started going because my mom told me that my grandparents used to have a hot dog shop in this same store, decades ago. The service is always so friendly, and they always remember my breakfast sandwich order, even if it's been a long time since my last visit here. When I bring these to work my coworkers love them (maple, glazed cinnamon roll have been the winners in taste tests). My mom's favorite is a chocolate old fashioned, and when she just visited she repeatedly said it is the best old fashioned she has ever had. In fact we went back 3 times in the span of 5 days because my parents liked it so much, haha. Even at 4:30 on the way to the airport, they're open. Great location, so friendly, and so delicious. When I first started going here I was a little shocked by the line, wondering if it was worth the wait. The line moves quickly, and it's definitely worth the wait!“
“Once I got into my rental car at the airport I looked for coffee shops in the area. I normally prefer independent coffee shops to chains. California Bean popped up and I decided to try it. I am glad I tried this place and I only wish I could have their coffee everyday. The little shack is vibrant and the young lady was very pleasant and helpful. I ordered an Americano , it was the best one I have ever had! I also ordered a pumpkin walnut bread, it was very moist, fresh and delicious.“
“This is definitely one of the best boba places in San Diego! Especially since it's locally owned the quality is very good. I always get the tea frescas - premade fruit teas. The seasonal offerings are always great and I especially love the ones with blueberry and hojicha. The tea frescas are super affordable ($5). The boba is always super chewy and has a strong honey flavor, so if you don't like honey, get another topping. They also have customizable tea options with what kind of milk, tea, and toppings (the tofu pudding is always good). I always make sure to stop by here if I'm in the area!“
“What a darling space. Truly marvelous on the inside.Came to catch up with a friend and thoroughly enjoyed our drinks. The barista was enthusiastic about what was on offer and I appreciate a good recommendation! (I do wish they served their X-Factor drip, though. It is AMAZING. You are missing out if you don't grab a bag!)Much love to a shop that provides resources and community awareness. It is so important and makes the extra circling for parking worthwhile.“
“I've been seeing this place on tiktok so I finally decided to try with a friend. We had a bit of trouble finding this place, and circled around the building a few times before realizing which store it was. The worker later said that the place was made to be more lowkey/discreet. The vibes inside are 10/10. This would be a nice place for drinks with a friend. The inside is pretty small, so I don't think it would be a group setting type of place. Also, this is definitely more of a place to go for drinks, not food, as the few food items they have are all small appetizers. The service was great! The server who helped us was very friendly and constantly checked up on us. I would definitely come back for drinks. Also, they have a film drop off box at the front of the store which I thought was pretty cool! And the film developing rates were cheaper than other places that I usually go to!“
“This place is a vibe. Great decor and wonderful funk music playing while I was there. Both baristas were lovely and coffee came out quickly. I got The Basic (Vanilla Latte) and it was fantastic and looks like they use real vanilla bean in their vanilla flavor. It was delicious. They may have mistaken sawdust for flour with the shortbread cookie this particular day. Not great. It happens. Pretty solid experience, will definitely be back.“
“Perfect spot for PB, which we don't have a lot and most close down due to to knowing what they are doing. Coffee is fresh, food is fresh and perfect portion size. Menu size is not overwhelming. Great music selection and plenty of seating. My go to spot to get work done. Margarita the owner is amazing and always helpful. 10/10. 5 star all the way. #supportsmallbusiness“
“My favorite boba place in SD. The cocoa latte with tiramisu foam is a must! However, be aware that this place gets CRAZY busy. When I came on a Saturday afternoon, I had to wait about 35 minutes in line, and then another 10–15 minutes after ordering. If you want to avoid lines, go during less busy hours like a weekday afternoon rather than evening or weekends.“
“This is one of the best spots in Southeast. Get plugged into the community while sipping some great drinks and enjoying some surprisingly quality food. It's worth going out of your way for if you're not in the neighborhood; but if you're already local, you're probably already here.Parking: Limited street parking, so you may need to walk a bit.“
“Went there a few more times, and tried more food. Besides the Elmisa Toast, which is a must-have, the Healthier Riser is super yummy! The Elmisa Toast is even better than before as it's very crunchy! It's now my go-to cafe wherever I am around that area. Highly recommend this place!“
“There are so many things I love about Ultreya. It's legitimately my favorite spot to grab a treat, and I must admit I do that quite often. This place has San Diego vibes all over it for me. Aside from great friendly down to earth service and ownership, they have a good menu of healthy drinks and treats, some even inspired by san diego herself. I first fell in love with their lavender latte with macadamia nut milk. Yes. MACADAMIA NUT MILK. Chai latte with lavender was the next evolution of drink order and now I am all about their matcha latte. Their butterfly effect is earthy and grounding. They also have VEGAN PASTRIES, and right now I can't get enough of their babkas. While you're waiting for your order you can browse their little local business corner where you can find candles, tarot cards, stickers, essential oils, clothes, and more. They also have another corner that hosts a book sharing shelf. This place is my favorite place to do computer work, good internet connection and outlets spread out, and there is always space inside and if you want to enjoy the sunshine, they have outdoor tables and seating (patio furniture new addition). I wish they were open til later since i'm a late starter and can't get enough of this place. but i know there is more that goes into this decision. I'm just grateful they are still here post pandemic and constantly growing as a business.“
“This is a great little hidden coffee shop on the outskirts of the community of Paradise Hills. The gentleman who runs the coffee shop is very friendly and welcoming, and his wife is a terrific baker and owner of D Sweets D.That being said, I had a cortado and oat, raisins, cranberries, and walnut D Sweets D cookie. Both cost $4. The cortado was robust yet smooth and rich. It was well balanced and delicious. The cookie I paired with it was amazing. So much so that I told the owner to make sure he gives his wife a big hug the next time he sees her.The coffee shop offers an eclectic collection of furniture and decorations. They offer inside and outside seating. I can see how this place is a neighborhood favorite. When in the area, you know what to do.“
“Mouth watering deliciousness! I suggest going early because they do sell out. My favorite is the Strawberry Jamaica donut, but have now tried most of them and every single one is recommended. My husband tried the cold brew horchata today and he said definitely try if you like coffee and horchata.“
“The water experience at Bay Park Coffee was tolerable. There were two pitchers of water (no ice) available. However, they were small, inconspicuous pitchers that were easy to miss, as they were near coffee condiments. However, the water itself was good. The cups are small.“
“The chicken pot pie is just a solid light lunch /snack leaving you satiated. If lucky enough to get one with tons of pearl onions it becomes crave worthy. Coupled with the mash and gravy, I’m happy.Coconut custard 6 out of 10, didn’t pop with flavor but baked well. The ham/bacon quiche 8 out of 10, the buttery everything seasoning crust makes this slice on point.I’ve also had the large salted chocolate chip cookie which is perfect. Here’s the problem… twice a week I go to this place and a $10 pot pie is the right price. This $1 increase to $11 makes me go into rebellion mode as I find it obnoxious and over places just raising prices with justifications that do not apply/smokescreen. It’s officially out of hand. For that I will only go once a week. #harshlove“
“Super cute coffee shop find in PB. A short walk from the boardwalk. Pleasant seating inside or simply grab and go to sit by the beach. Nice selection of cold or warm drinks and multiple selection of pastry choice. Very friendly staff and super fast.“
“I ordered a cake from Babycakes in Hillcrest and I couldn’t be happier with the cake. It was probably the best tasting cake I’ve eaten. I requested a special decoration on the cake over the phone and they did a beautiful job with only my verbal description, no picture. Thank you so much Babycakes! I will definitely be back.“
“We ordered the chocolate blueberry coconut bliss cake to celebrate our elopement in San Diego (I added the cake topper) and the cake did not disappoint. It was even more delicious than it was beautiful; I wouldn’t have changed a single thing! The ordering and pick up process was so smooth which was much appreciated too. Highly highly recommend and I’m certainly looking forward to going back to try more goodies from Phattie’s!!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and vegan“
“Was looking for vegan food and found this place. Great mixed green salad minus the feta. The hummus veggie bagel on a great sourdough multi grain bread, because the bagel ingredients were unknown, was delicious. The very friendly employees were willing to make substitutions for me.Vegetarian options: Willing to modify most items on the menu“
“Ahh lovesong. This reminds me of LA. The coffee shop is so cute inside, I love all the decor and design, very open concept with lots of natural light and plants. Just a really nice place to be in and to take friends to. I really enjoy the creativity and presentation of the drinks. Most drinks come with a floral decor. The menu has a lot of variety for coffee drinks. I also like how there's lots of drinks with savory elements that you would not typically associate with coffee drinks (think rosemary, thyme, salt, habanero pepper) as well as other sweet ingredients (maple syrup, coconut flakes, fig, banana). For food they have a few items in their fridge, like yogurts or chia bowls. I Wish they offered more food options or pastry options. Their pastry display is pretty small. But I get that the specialty here is the coffee. The service has been good. The times I've gone the orders take a while but that's because there's a huge line/wait. But when we get our drinks they taste great.“
“This place is the best! Stopped in after a long drive. I wanted something refreshing and nourishing, and received just that! Chloe helped me— was very helpful and kind. Will definitely be back during my stay here in OB. Thank you, Viol’s and Chloe!! ? Deeply grateful.“
“I discovered Chiefy Cafe in Hillcrest while running errands (they have several locations). The cafe has a simple and welcoming vibe, and it's dog-friendly.Upon entering, I had a casual chat about their menu and was intrigued by their signature drinks. I opted for the Iced Moon Latte, made with Oatmilk, Vanilla, Cinnamon, Tocos Powder, Ashwagandha, and Spirulina. They offer good food options, but my focus was on the coffee.Initially unsure about how my drink would taste due to the various ingredients, I was pleasantly surprised. The healthy additions blended well, resulting in a flavor more akin to a cinnamon and vanilla latte. They offer only one drink size, which I found to be perfect. They have a few drinks and menu items in mind for my next visit. Unfortunately, I didn't catch the names of the ladies who made my drink and chatted with me, but their friendly service added to my pleasant experience.“
“Drift Cafe is a lovely spot with delicious food and drink options and excellent atmosphere! The cafe was packed on a Tuesday at 10am with locals and visitors alike. The staff is very attentive, the menu has various vegan and other diet-friendly options and the matcha latte was delightful. I live nearby and will definitely be back to try more of their menu and enjoy the vibes.Vegetarian options: Various vegetarian breakfast optionsDietary restrictions: various gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, and meat menu optionsKid-friendliness: lots of tables with room for kids, menu options for kids too“
“Extraordinary Desserts is a haven for dessert lovers, where every bite is a delightful indulgence in sweet perfection. With its chic and inviting atmosphere, this beloved San Diego institution sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.“
“They serve some really cool coffee flavors here, good food options too and the outside area is really nice to sit and relax in.Vegetarian options: Good amountsDietary restrictions: YesParking: Not badKid-friendliness: YesWheelchair accessibility: Yes“
“Tried this little gem today and was so surprised with how good the coffee is here! We got the Pistachio Shaken Espresso which was so unique and delicious. It’s so rare to find a place that can execute delicious coffee with such a lovely ambiance. We will definitely be back!“
“After a stroll around the block - we took a gander at North Park's abundance of ice cream options - my friend and I decided on North Park Creamery! I didn’t realize it was soft serve at first, but was pleasantly surprised. I loved the local feel and inviting, colorful atmosphere too.I loved their vegan coconut ube — it tasted amazingly creamy, and the flavor was strong. I’m still dreaming of it now… (I also tried a bit of my friend’s strawberry-churro twist, and the flavors were a bit on the mild side, but still pleasant (the churro was like a cinnamon-y vanilla — I preferred the ube.) A small is $5.95.There’s some seating inside (and even some board games available), so it’s a nice place to chill for a while. As for parking, I parked at the North Park Garage for $5 in the evening. Loved it!“
“First time here and ordered two donuts and an americano. I like that the donuts are made to order and come out warm. Nice touch. You can customize a donut as well. I typically eat classic donuts, little to no frosting or add-ons. Copper doesn’t sell these type, like plain cake or powdered sugar classic options. Coffee was good, service friendly and near the ocean alway a plus.“
“The Honey Mint Tea is phenomenal, so refreshing! It’s hard to find mint tea that’s not bitter or over-steeped, but this one was absolutely perfect. The boba texture was perfect too. The gentleman at the counter took his time to make things just right, and it was worth the wait. Pricing was fair, and the menu is creative! We recommend Twinkle to everyone we can- definitely worth the trip!“
“Absolutely delicious coffee and not overly sweet. So grateful that they had a vegan option for the classic Saigon Coffee as well. The line was long but the employees worked through it very quickly and were happy to answer any questions. Can't wait to come back!“
