“Great place to get coffee,super friendly and patient staff. I had the Cognitive Mushroom before and today I tried the Midnight Vietnamese both decaf I loved them both. Make sure to also try their protein donuts, my favorite is chocolate. Indoor and outdoor seating beautiful views and you can take a little walk while you enjoy your drink.“

“I am new to IB and am just so impressed with Katy's Cafe! They are busy (so you know they're good!), but they get your order out quick. The staff is friendly, inviting and accommodating! “I like to get chai and matcha here. Prices start at $5.50 for specialty coffee and non-coffee drinks which is very reasonable. They also have pup cups for your dogs and are generous with whipped cream.
Plenty of seating available or you can take the coffee to the beach or walk. Baristas change often but I never had any inconsistencies with my drinks. The young girl working there is really sweet.
I recommend this place for good prices and dog-friendliness.“

“As the author of The Grant Colson Thriller Series and SERA Archives Thriller Series, I’ve spent a lot of time around Cow-A-Bunga Ice Cream & Coffee, and it’s one of those classic local spots that’s hard to miss.

This is a simple walk-in ice cream shop, but that’s part of the appeal. It’s right near the IB Pier Plaza with plenty of seating around, so you can grab a scoop and head outside to enjoy it by the beach.

I’ve had more scoops here over the years than I can count. The flavor selection is excellent, with plenty of fun options, and it’s the kind of place you keep coming back to without thinking twice.

The staff is always super friendly, which adds a lot to the experience. It’s quick, easy, and welcoming every time.

Inside, the artwork on the walls gives the place a fun, laid-back personality that fits perfectly with the beach vibe. It’s also the kind of relaxed setting I’ve thought about while writing The Maui Desire Romance Series, where simple moments like this can carry a scene.

“Don't understand what's with the low ratings. This McDonalds is proof that fast food restaruants don't have to be trashy. The floor and tables are always spotless clean, staff is beyond friendly, and food is served accurately and in just 2 minutes. The girl with tattoos on her arms, the lady taking out the trash, and the other young lady delivering orders to the tables are always kind and have a smile on their face. That just reflects how responsable and committed the manager is. Love the consistency on how well and clean the place is kept every time I visit.“

I asked about the Kos latte and Owner/Cashier said something I didn’t quite hear except pistachio and cold foam. I said yeah, two of those, one for me and one for my wife. Received the drinks and realized it was matcha, which is fine. I wanted coffee coffee but matcha for caffeine would suffice. Took one sip and almost busted. Holy heck was it amazing. Literally one of the best drinks I’ve ever had the pleasure of trying. Easily best matcha I’ve ever had. Perfectly sweet but stayed true to the pistachio and matcha flavor. Amazing. Sadly I don’t live close enough to visit often but I need to come back to try other drinks. Definitely recommend.“

We ordered the Open Mind Fat Burner, Mexicano Latte, Acai Bowl, and Turkey Bacon Avocado Croissant. Everything tasted so fresh and delicious - we wanted to savor every bite!! The staff is so friendly and Camile customized the Turkey Bacon Avo without the bread for me, as I am gluten free. We only had 2 days left in SD and went back to Chiefy Cafe and ordered the same thing each day. Camile & Larissa assisted us and were awesome! HIGHLY RECOMMEND CHIEFY CAFE!!“

“If you are looking for quality coffee, service and atmosphere this is your place.
I waited outside with a group of friends for 15/20 minutes before they opened the door for us. Once seated, not only did they make it clear but encouraged us to take our time, enjoy the space and the drinks. We spent 3hrs spending quality, undistracted time with each other. The coffee, matcha and avo toasts we ordered were exceptional.

The atmosphere made the experience feel intentional. Not once did I wonder “where is my coffee or server…” or felt like we were being rushed out.

This was THE BEST San Diego coffee AND restaurant experience I’ve had in years.

If you are going to give this place a shot (and I recommend you do), you are going to wait and that’s okay. Enjoy it.“

Online they tend to be sold out as well the few times I have looked. It is such a dang bummer. I’d love to support with wearing merch. Still hoping one trip I’ll get lucky and they will have something in stock 😅. Also, their lemonade is super super tart. So if you like it sweet like I do, dont get it. You can really tell the team is passionate about experimenting, and their seasonal offerings are always creative and keeps things fresh.

Lately, my go-to has been the milk tea. They recently started offering a bottled to-go version, which has honestly been lovely. It’s super convenient to be able to stock up and have it ready in the fridge for later, especially when I can’t make it into the shop. “Mujer Divina has easily become my favorite coffee spot. The moment you walk in, you feel the warmth, beautiful décor, a relaxing vibe, and staff who genuinely make you feel welcome. Their drinks are always chef’s kiss, from the smooth lattes to the specialty flavors you can’t find anywhere else.

And I have to shout out Niko!! truly an amazing barista. Always kind, always patient, and ALWAYS gets my drink just right. You can tell he loves what he does, and it makes the whole experience even better.
