“This place is sooo good! They have great ice cream flavors and topping to go inside of your fish shaped waffle cone!! So delicious!! My go to is Cookies and Cream soft serve with Oreo dust!Very Instagramable!Kid-friendliness: Kids will love it here! They will love the taste and look!Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp available!“
“Staff were all very welcoming and engaging. They greeted you warmly and called out to say goodbye when you left. That kind of courtesy is missing from a lot of places and I appreciate the positive, human interaction. It had the old time charm that I think changes people for the better. The food was made to order and fresh. You could watch your food being made, that’s how fresh it was. Highly recommend.Parking: Easy to find a place to park in the middle of the day, on a Saturday.Wheelchair accessibility: All one level“
“Fantastic ice cream, particularly the non dairy options. However every time you go in here they ask if it’s your first time. Not only have I been here dozens of times, myself and I assume most people are already familiar with the general concept of an ice cream shop.“
“Definitely the best ice cream I’ve ever ever had. Embarrassed to say it took me this long to finally go. I had the mint (which is more like a sweet, natural mint vs the standard like toothpaste mint vibe) and the Skrewball Peanut Butter. Can’t believe Handel’s has been conning me. See you soon Dave!“
“This place was really great for gelato. The location was nice as well. We got our gelato and walked down to a near by park that gave us a great view of the ocean. We enjoyed the moka, coconut, chocolate, and berry vanilla flavors which were amazing. I’m definitely going back to taste more flavors and maybe even get a pint or two.“
“We are gelato aficionados and the combination of the genuine stellar service and super delicious gelato make this place a 5 in our book. If we weren’t from out of town, we would be regulars. The owner was so kind and encouraging of us to try whatever we wanted to make sure we loved whatever we ordered even though there were a few people in line. He made us feel so welcomed and valued as new customers. We will be back again when we visit San Diego in the future.Kid-friendliness: So happy to help our kids choose their desired flavors.“
“The storefront is small, but the employee who helped us was very friendly. The serving size for a double scoop was generous, and the quality was good.Try the mint chip! It's a really excellent version of what it is.Vegetarian options: All of the ice cream is vegan.Dietary restrictions: This place is good for anyone eating vegan or gluten-free. It's even Celiac-safe!Parking: Easy parking, though the storefront itself is tucked into the office park.“
“Not the biggest fan of Gelato in general, but by some luck we found parking right outside for our dinner location just down the street. On the way back, we were offered a sample and the super helpful staff helped explain all the flavors and options. It was so tasty that I am a fan of Gelato.I can't spell but the general vanilla with chocolate flakes was amazing. At the time they had a special olive oil flavor on too and though it sounded odd, it tasted really good. Highly recommend.“
“Still dreaming of that vegan Churro Ice Cream cone… Wonderful and large selection of ice creams, many dairy-free choices, plus super kind staff (though they were working solo- so things were moving slow). The patio made for a nice sunny rest spot to enjoy our treats. Great kid-friendly spot.“
“Favorite ice cream spot in San Diego! The ice cream tastes amazing and the portions are huge. Their cream texture is special. I love their chocolate flavors so I usually get their Gooey Fudge Brownie and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownie.“
“Customer service was excellent and they strive for each customer to have a personalized experience. A little tricky to find because of the one way streets but I wouldn't count it against them. Otherwise food was great and we'll definitely be coming back when we're in downtown!“
“These have got to be the best cookies I have ever had! I was visiting SD from out of town and found this place. I ended up making two trips because they were that good. Glad I was able to enjoy some great cookies and support a black owned business! And the portion size matches the price.“
“Crumbl made Thanksgiving so easy last year with their holiday cookies. I was able to give everybody what they wanted without me having to back 3-4 different pies/cakes. Definitely ordering Crumbl for future holidays & special occasions.“
“Located in the heart of Little Italy, this ice cream spot is worth the wait. Despite the line being long, the service was impeccable and the wait was brief. The flavors were exceptional, served in generous portions at affordable prices. The cozy interior adds to the charm of this little gem. A must-visit recommendation without hesitation!“
“This store has a great variety of treats, clothes, meal toppers, and aromas for your fur babies. Location is very clean, reasonable in price, and staff is very friendly and helpful. Definitely would come again and refer to friends and family!“
“Best ice cream I’ve ever had. My friend got me the strawberry rhubarb crisp and it was so delicious! I just went on the Facebook page and found out it was vegan and gluten free. I had no idea. It was seriously the best ice cream I’ve ever had.“
“1st time at this location and had the loveliest person help us out at the counter. Freya was so sweet and encouraged us to sample as many flavors! She was the absolute best did not make us feel rushed in any way and was just so friendly. Can’t wait to go back for more flavors!“
“I don’t live in this area, but I’m saving it to COME BACK!!! I showed up 10 mins before closing and they happily welcomed me in and served me. They even offered me a little snack of watermelon with tajin and chamoy? Spanish is my second language and I started speaking it to them and they were both so kind and had a whole conversation with me. I loved it! People usually switch back to English when they realize I’m not perfectly fluent and it was nice that they didn’t. I definitely felt welcomed and loved, which is so rare for restaurants and smoothie joints :’)Also, let’s not forget how BOMB the food is!!! I got two smoothies and a torta and *chefs kiss* tan rico!!!? ?Grateful I found this lil gem in San Diego! I’ll be back :)“
“We were strolling around North park after brunch and decided to go in for gelato. Upon entering, it was very warm inside and a small space. They sold pizza on one end and gelato on the other end. We asked for samples and they were nice about it. I went with toffee butterscotch and dark chocolate. My favorite was the dark chocolate, it was creamy and delicious. You can tell they used top tier ingredients. Next time I will have to try their pizza, it all looked so good! Pros: great staff, clean shop, cute decor Cons: street parking is limited around the area and inside the shop can be warm.“
“What a wonderful show Cabetos Pops put on for our family on New Year’s Eve! So delicious I wish we had chosen the big pops!Dietary restrictions: Vegan ice cream was delicious!Kid-friendliness: Spectacular show, both babies and grownups were mesmerized by the dipping and sprinkling.“
“The staff does an amazing job being friendly, patient, and quick! We definitely would recommend coming here for some ice cream if you are visiting!Parking: Parking is difficult so it would be great to park down the block and walk up! Limited spots out front.“
“Stop by as your walking around little Italy ??!! It was honestly hard to choose a flavor & so satisfying to look at all the popsicles! They're about $7 each with toppings like chocolate, lechera, carmel drizzles & sprinkles, peanuts, almonds , oreos etc.!! Very good portions yummy ? & friendly service!! They have vegan options too.“
“Stopped by here one evening a few minutes after 9pm when they close. Saw they were still open so we popped in hoping to get some ice cream. The girl working was being very patient with an indecisive customer in front of us and then extended the same patience to help us next. I truly appreciated her willingness to serve us "after hours" technically speaking. You don't see that very often these days. Now to the ice cream... they have a great mix of both unique and classic flavors. Something for everyone. The flavors are rich, but not overpowering. The portions are generous and the prices are fair. If you're a cone person. I'd highly recommend the waffle cone too.“
“I’ve been making my own ice cream since I got the Ninja Creami for Christmas. So it was nice to have some from a creamery. I’m also aware of ice cream ingredients and I like that this is on the lighter side.We were able to sample flavors. I ended up getting avocado pistachio. I didn’t taste much avocado, I think it was used as a base for texture. It did have a strong pistachio taste and had bits and pieces of pistachio. My friend got coffee and that was delicious. Had a mocha flavor. We both regret that we didn’t sample Mexican hot chocolate. They also serve drinks. As well as elote! I loved that they offer different cup sizes.“
“After a stroll around the block - we took a gander at North Park's abundance of ice cream options - my friend and I decided on North Park Creamery! I didn’t realize it was soft serve at first, but was pleasantly surprised. I loved the local feel and inviting, colorful atmosphere too.I loved their vegan coconut ube — it tasted amazingly creamy, and the flavor was strong. I’m still dreaming of it now… (I also tried a bit of my friend’s strawberry-churro twist, and the flavors were a bit on the mild side, but still pleasant (the churro was like a cinnamon-y vanilla — I preferred the ube.) A small is $5.95.There’s some seating inside (and even some board games available), so it’s a nice place to chill for a while. As for parking, I parked at the North Park Garage for $5 in the evening. Loved it!“
“Ice cream is always 5 stars. Although I was a little disappointed this location didn't have the more tropical Hawaiian flavors as the other location. Everything I had was really good but the Fat Elvis was hella delicious The loss of star is due to location and parking which seems to be the consensus based on other reviews We parked at the garage down the street which was about 1/4 mile away. The crappy thing is when we came back to the elevator a bunch of teens were hotboxing in the elevator from floors 1-6. Told my kids don't be @ssholes like them I miss the other location and will try and hit this location up only during the daytime“
“WHAT A TREAT!! This ice cream, cookie sandwich-situation is out of this world! The ice cream was decadent and creamy and full of flavor! The cookies were warm and perfectly baked!! The service was so nice & the shop itself was just the cutest - with its very laid back feel! 10/10 !! I highly recommend! Cheers!!“
“Were they the best churros I've ever had, no, but did they hit the spot for a quick sweet treat, absolutely! My husband and I shared the original churros with vanilla ice cream and it was just what I needed for a quick, easy dessert before heading back to our Airbnb for the night. Nice crunch on the outside with a little bit of softness on the inside!“
“I am from Phoenix and come to OB about 4 times a year. This was my first time at We Be OB. We were on the way back from the dog park and decided we were hungry, but we had no wallet, only phones. We decided to stop and see if they had Apple Pay and they did. They are the home of the panini dog but since it was 9:30 am we thought the breakfast special was in order. Half sausage and egg panini and coffee for $7. We also got the 1/2 Linguica sausage and egg panini and in all honestly was the best breakfast sammy I have ever had. The sausage is a Portuguese smoked pork seasoned with garlic and paprika. YOU HAVE GOT TO HAVE ONE! The half was a perfect size. You will not be disappointed.“
“This place is the perfect place to stop for soft serve! They are super quick (despite the often long lines) and the staff is so friendly! Their ice cream is phenomenal and if you decide to get toppings they hook you UP. I got the twist (chocolate and vanilla) in a cup with crushed Oreos and whipped cream. They gave me so much whipped cream you can't even see the ice cream but let me tell you it was incredible. Such a cute and yummy place for ice cream:) you will not be disappointed!!!“
“All four flavors we got were very good! (Ube Pandesal, earl grey citrus, mango sticky rice, and oaxacan cot chocolate) The flavors were well balanced and not too sweet. Feels very high quality. We got the split, which is a single scoop size, but two flavor choices. The mango sticky rice was both our favorites! Tastes exactly like it, it was crazy! They're dog friendly too!Dietary restrictions: They had gluten free and lactose free options“
“i LOVE this place!! me and my family have been going here for years and we always are so satisfied with the service and the quality! it almost feels like we're back in hawaii. this is my family's go to place for dessert and it forever will!!“
“Just in from the East Coast & wow yummy stuff! Service friendly & helpful trying to choose from delicious flavors...LOVED the rose almond...I know weird combo but surprisingly mild & just different...hubby loved the salted caramel!!“
“the service was amazing! it was just the cashier and one other young lady and they did amazing. the ambiance it pretty nice and has information of their company as well as funny/interesting signs. very clean and take care of even the restroom. i tried the wild berry lavender and it was perfect. the herbal taste is good but not too overpowering. you can taste the citrus also. the waffle pieces were crunchy and very tasty. would come back to try more flavors!“
“Visited 12FEB2024Great: Nothing was notable.Good: The shaved ice dessert was way too sweet and the ice was too large for a bingsu dessert. The mix of toppings and cereal didn't help the flavor. The ice cream on the side was ok.Bad: Nothing was bad.Visited Jan 23, 2023Great: The cashier was very nice and helpful. The Vietnamese coffee was strong and tasty. The decor was nice and the place was clean.Good: The rice flour donut was ok. the texture was fine, but chewier than I expected. It was my first time eating one. The cashier took his time to explain what they were and all the flavors available.Bad: Nothing bad.“
“Average salt and straw ice cream shop. It's consistent with the flavors those familiar with Salt & Straw know and love. The servers were fun, and it was nice that there was no huge line like there was downtown. Quick, clean, and enjoyable.“
“My message to the business owners would be to stick to the thing you're best at (the snow ice) and really make it shine, like making a build your own snow ice special or add special things like matcha or red beans, instead of trying to stretch the menu and do things that would end up with alright results, especially for smaller kitchens. I really think that this place can still shine due to the creamy and milky perfection of the snow ice, and I see there's so much potential to cater to a gen z/tiktok geared audience. Right now it is limited to a small number of non-customizable items, but new bowl shapes, waffle sizes, and other asian favored toppings would be an absolute game changer. It would make me very sad to see this place go.“
“I was just recovering for a cold but didn't even think about that when I came here!Husband had been here with friends before and he wanted me to try this place.Got the Aahbong with the soft serveRed bean fillingUbe and Thai Tea flavors soft serveMacaron and crushed Oreo on topNot going to lie. I genuinely love this. I was not expecting it to be this good because I'm not as much into Asian flavors as most people. But yeah this thing was amazing!Very smooth and delicious soft serve that was not extra sweet or anything. Honestly there was not so much of that red being filling inside and I guess it didn't add as much to the flavor. But that whole fish shape Aahbong itself was just Perfect with the soft serve. Honestly, I almost made the mistake of finishing up that Aahbong too soon and there would be too much soft serve left. But it was a good thing my husband paced me down be ahead of time.Definitely would recommend to anyone!“
“Forever fan of Stella Jeans and I was happy to finally visit this location. This one does have seating inside and a bathroom but it seems like people gravitate to Pop Pie Co. more. As it seems as they usually aren't busy, there was a bell to ring to summon a worker from the back. The ice cream is always high quality and the workers are always so sweet. Parking is very limited so expect street parking. So happy theres more locations!“
“I absolutely recommend the pistachio gelato. It was amazing! This is a small little shop with enough room to just walk in front of the display case, pick what you want, pay, and then enjoy your dessert outside in their narrow patio area, which definitely has a European vibe. Service is friendly and they allow you to sample a few flavors before purchasing. Overall, I'd definitely return.“
“Excellent ice cream and such friendly and upbeat staff! Also have vegan flavors. Family owned and they care a lot about the community. My favorite flavor is Stephie’s Silly Strawberry. Sunny Scoops will not disappoint. Best ice cream in San Diego!“
“Matcha Cafe Maiko is a delightful haven for matcha enthusiasts and dessert aficionados alike. Stepping into this cozy cafe in Kearny Mesa, San Diego, one is greeted by the enticing aroma of freshly brewed matcha and the promise of delectable treats crafted with care. From the moment we walked in with our son, we were captivated by the warm ambiance and welcoming atmosphere. The menu, boasting an array of tantalizing offerings, piqued our interest with its promise of premium ingredients and authentic flavors.Opting for their famed matcha and ube mixed soft serve, we were treated to a delightful treat. The soft serve was impeccably smooth, with each spoonful bursting with the rich essence of matcha and the subtle sweetness of ube. It was a true indulgence that left us craving more.Accompanying our sweet indulgence was a serving of tempura snack, showcasing the cafe's commitment to excellence in every bite. The tempura was flawlessly fried to golden perfection, encasing fresh shrimp that practically melted in our mouths. It was a testament to the cafe's dedication to quality and freshness. What truly sets Matcha Cafe Maiko apart is its unwavering commitment to authenticity and quality. With ingredients sourced directly from Uji, Japan, renowned for its premium matcha, every sip and every bite transports patrons on a culinary journey imbued with tradition and excellence. Moreover, the impeccable service we received further enhanced our dining experience. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to ensure our visit was nothing short of exceptional. In addition to its culinary delights, Matcha Cafe Maiko offers a haven for families, making it the perfect destination for a memorable outing with loved ones.“
“Had a chance to visit Malibu Farms at the seaport area when visiting San Diego with the girls and it was awesome! This location is right in front of the water and has good food and awesome vibes. The service was fast and efficient and the food portions were large for what you pay. I ended up getting the chicken bacon burger which came with a salad and a broccoli potato mash. This was yummy and juicy. The portions were so much I actually couldn't finish it! Overall food was yummy, views were great and company was perfect!“
“Delicious and unique ice cream flavors served in South Park! Mutual Friend shares its location with Dark Horse Coffee in a convenient corner establishment.Parking:Street parking only— be aware that you might have to circle around a couple of blocks if you go during busy afternoons and weekends.Ambiance/ServiceNice, bright coffee/ice cream shop decorated with string lights above and a large neon sign that says “Dark Horse Coffee.” Not a lot of seating inside— only a couple of 4-person benches and maybe one or two 2-person tables. A large electronic menu resides next to the ice cream counter with descriptions of each flavor. The guy serving us was very patient and nice as we tried out many flavors! At around 7pm on a Wednesday, there was no line.Food:Split singe scoop ($6.50): I ordered the Buttermilk and Blueberries & Couch Potato (I loved the combination of sweet and salty on this one). My husband ordered Vanilla Bean with Olive Oil and Milk and Cookies. What I noticed is that the ice cream is a bit on the runnier side so it might be difficult to eat with a cone.Overall:I’m impressed with the flavors available and I’d love to come back to try out other seasonal flavors when they come out!“
“!! Cash only!! Delicious ice cream with unique flavors! The ice cream was light, flavorful, and not too sweet. More on the icy side than the creamy side as Mexican ice cream tends to be (compared to American). I got two scoops for $6. Guava has strong flavor. It was much sweeter than the rice pudding which I preferred. Rice pudding even had flakes on cinnamon in it. On a Sunday afternoon, no line but there were other customers. The singular person working behind the counter was very friendly and gave us samples to try. There are two small tables outside, none inside.“
“The staff barely made said anything, no greeting or friendly remark. But we got the orders quickly and correctly. No dairy free options. Red bean is good. Atmosphere is a normal ice cream shop - bright, no comfortable seating.Parking: Depending on how busy the area is the parking can be easy.Kid-friendliness: Lots of seating. Nothing for them to play with to make a mess (this is a good thing).“
“This was fun!! It was my first time to Icekimo, and a week later, I went to their Del Mar Highlands location. I tried the strawberry cheesecake bubble waffle. The waffle was warm. The strawberries were plump and fresh, and the little cheesecake bites were yummy, too. I also tried the mango shaved ice with some toppings. They charge by weight and have a plethora of toppings. The parking at this location is hit or miss depending on when you go, but there's also a parking garage around the back. I highly recommend a visit on a sunny day. Both locations have outdoor seating.“
“I'm mind blown to find out I never wrote a review for my favorite sandwich shop of all times! I originally found out about C's Ice Cream and Deli from my friend's dad back in 1999 and instantly fell in love with the small sandwich shop! Honestly, it was really the root beer selection that drew me in since Sasparilla/ Root Beer is my favorite beverage of all times! Out of 150 variants of root beer, cream soda, ginger ale, and everything else in between, 80% of my first time tries has come from C's. My favorite root beer is Sparky's (be very careful, this root beer has such a bite, you won't taste anything afterwards)...sounds to strong and want something smooth and creamy then try Virgil's! Don't like root beer, no problem...I also love their sandwiches. My top 3 Sandwiches are: Roast Beef Artichoke, Chicken Cordon Bleu and Pepperoni Roaster! But honestly, you just gotta make it down the list of all sandwiches. I suggest getting everything included, tomato, lettuce, oil and & vinegar with a pickle spear on the side. C's Deli is family owned and ran by a husband and wife team (Todd & Anastasia) and throughout the many years their kids helped in the shop as well and I had the pleasure to watch them all grow up to be fine adults! C's is a small shop tucked in a very small strip mall on the end of Mira Mesa Blvd. They have been there since 1989 and have made it through numerous ups and down (stock market crashes and even a pandemic) I've been going to C's Deli since my senior year in high school (1999) and sometimes daily during my college days (1999-2002) at Miramar College. I love how they greet their regulars (like myself) by name and I truly have grown to consider Todd, Anastasia and the kids.... FAMILY! My only con is since my wife and I live in fallbrook, I don't get the opportunity to go to the deli as often as I would like! But since my parents both still live in Mira Mesa, it makes for a great excuse to visit C's Deli! Today's order: .Roast Beef Artichoke (Everything included) .Chicken Muffaletta (Everything included) .Maui Onion Chips and Crack Pepper Sea Salt Chips .Oak Creek Blonde Barrel Aged Root Beer If you go in, please say hello to Todd and Anastasia and maybe try one of my favorites!“
“Craving a dessert while walking around Hillcrest neighborhood, so we stumbled upon this shop! They have a large array of gelato, we got to sample, and they were sooo creamy, rich, and full of flavor without being too sweet. They also serve coffee, crepes, slices of cheesecakes, and cute little desserts. All of their desserts look so appetizing. We got a small gelato in a cup for $5.50. Most other desserts are pricy, range from $7-15 each. Parking is only street or a paid parking garage, not sure if they validate parking!“
“Speakeasy is no longer for cocktails. Ice cream has come into the picture and I'm here for it. The flavors change monthly. The employees are so nice they allow you to sample each flavor. They have dairy free options. You can get it on a cone, cup, or even pints to go. I love coming to north park to eat and then stopping here for a lil dessert.“
