“I was visiting my son and, while we were out walking, we stopped for coffee. It was a wonderful experience, and the coffee was excellent—I had a latte with two shots of espresso. Before leaving, I asked if I could buy some beans to take home, and I’m so glad I did. Yesterday, I ground them and made a latte, and the first sip instantly took me back to Coronado. Thank you for that—the coffee is truly amazing.“

“We all deserve a second chance and II Fornaio is not exempt. I was told to try this place for a nice meal. My family visited this establishment a few weeks back. Unfortunately, we had one of the worst experiences ever. Lack of attentiveness, service, taste, & dining experience. We left waiting to speak to a manager that never came as he was taking care of another matter and I didn't want to wait any longer. I got home and my wife insisted that I call to report our experience and give the manager a chance to do something about it. I spoke with Assistant General Manager Antonio Ramirez who apologized and said he would investigate and call me the following morning. Needless to say he didn't return the call for a week later. I honestly thought he forgot. Mr Ramirez called and once again apologize and offered to pay for our meal on the next visit. He was genuinely concerned about the companies reputation and making up for a poor experience. I returned the following week with a complete different situation. Mr Ramirez introduced himself, followed the hostess to our seat, took the unused glasses and offered to get our drinks. The busser, he could easily pass for Santa Claus, was johnny on the spot with water, tea and refills. Our waitress, Susan was what all should aspire to as far as a quality food server. Susan was suggestive of everything, we chose two of her recommendations and were not unhappy. Between Mr. Ramirez, Susan and Santa Claus (sorry never got the busser's name), my wife and I had the best dining experience that turned our hearts to highly recommend II Fornaio as the place to frequent for that wonderful dining experience. We will definitely return to dine after this time. Thank you for changing our hearts to believe in you. It's time to make Assistant General Manager Antonio Ramirez General Manager with his attitude, demeaner, and loyalty to the company and the return of a good customer experience. “Great place to get coffee,super friendly and patient staff. I had the Cognitive Mushroom before and today I tried the Midnight Vietnamese both decaf I loved them both. Make sure to also try their protein donuts, my favorite is chocolate. Indoor and outdoor seating beautiful views and you can take a little walk while you enjoy your drink.“

“Fabulous food served in a no-frills, casual atmosphere. The service was excellent and Chef Luciano Cibelli comes out of the kitchen and checks with every table to see how diners are doing. Great place to celebrate a special occasion. We enjoyed the seafood fettucini, chicken parmesian, and the catch of the day, which was sea bass on a bed of roasted vegetables, with beet purée and a delicious beurre blanc. Delish!“

“The most scrumptious artichoke arugula, Parmesan shavings salad that I split with my husband. Huge portion. Wonderful Chilean Seabass with black squid linguine. I like it with marinara and they accommodate. My husband had a wonderful pasta Bolognese. We topped it off with an incredible tasting lemoncello cake and two decaf cappuccinos. What a meal! Phenomenal restaurant great chef, lovely service great ambience.“

“We went here at like 7:30am so it was quiet and we got to sit for awhile at a cute table! I don't know how busy this place gets but would guess it's poppin' at peak times. The vegan pastry I got was delicious, the only downside was the fact that they weren't all clearly labeled so we had to ask what they were and then listen intently as the person quickly rattled them off. But overall this place was picturesque and cozy and cute.“

“This a a great restaurant! The food is made from scratch and has lots of dairy, gluten free items for those who want it. It was hard to choose what to eat because everything looked so good. The owners are great! They know their regulars and treat everyone as a regular. Wish I lived in San Diego so I could go more often.“

“An ice cream shop that also bakes their own cookies & allows you to mix & match them to make your own ice-cream sandwich. The possibilities are endless, the staff was so friendly & even offered to warm up the cookies for me which made them that much better. Next time I will get their brownie a la mode because it looked so good.
Price-wise it is fair compared to other shops in the area, $10 for a massive service of ice cream in their home made cookies, compared to other shops charging $6 for the tiniest scoop in a plastic cup. My friend suggested I come to the Baked Bear & I am so happy for it, so here I am highly recommending the Baked Bear for you to enjoy.“

If I had the disposable income I’d buy a private jet and fly to San Diego to eat here once a week and fly home, my carbon foot print would look like a slice of their pizza and I would okay with it cause my belly and soul would be content. “So stoked they have vegan rolled tacos! I tried both the potato and the lentil quinoa. Both are delicious, but the lentil quinoa ones blew me away!! 🙌🏽👏🏽👏🏽 They are so flavorful and the tortillas are crispy and crunchy, yet not hard. Also awesome is that they pack everything separately so the food isn’t a soggy mess when you get home. I added vegan sour cream I had at home and topped it with their guacamole, lettuce and salsa. They were heavenly!! I also appreciate that they fry their vegan tacos in a separate fryer. 🙌🏽Also, thank you for not using styrofoam. The containers for the to go orders are compostable made of plant fiber. The place is beautifully decorated, clean, and the staff were very courteous. I will definitely return. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

I have only ever had these from Portos. Sadly, they were too rich! Not the Guava or Cheese, they were way too buttery! The amount of butter used over powered the Guava. Hopefully it's just the batch I had. I will be back to try their other cakes and sandwiches.“

“Wow, talk about some amazing food and service. This has to be one of the best Ethiopian restaurants I’ve been to in America. It’s a hole in the wall for sure, but that adds to the charm. The person waiting on us was so kind, so nice, so helpful. You could see him literally running to the back to place orders and run food.

The table next to us was a little complicated. He told them they weren’t setup for tea or coffee on a Monday night. The diners insisted and he finally said, you know what, I can make it for you, but it will not be presented as normal, but I can make it in the back, to which the diners agreed. He ran to the back and next thing you know, tea and coffee were brought to them….extraordinary. As a former restaurant worker, I’d have not asked them to go through the effort, but this was above and beyond.

When I was leaving, they had some bread on the counter and I asked what it was and he described it and then gave us some to sample….it was amazing!

Anyway, we had the #1 special (it’s spicy but not super hot..for reference, I eat 2-3 Thai chilis raw with just about every meal, so YMMV) and the vegetarian combo. It was all so so so very delicious. I will definitely be back!“

“I went here, not realizing, and it was gluten-free until I got to the actual location, because I was looking for vegan friendly bakeries in the area, and it was the best gluten-free stuff I ever had. The espresso ganache thingy was insane and I never thought I liked anything gluten-free in the past. It was moist and good, not like the dry falvorless gluten-free things I have had before. So rather your vegan, gluten-free, or just a regular person I’m sure there will be something that you like here!“
