“We all deserve a second chance and II Fornaio is not exempt. I was told to try this place for a nice meal. My family visited this establishment a few weeks back. Unfortunately, we had one of the worst experiences ever. Lack of attentiveness, service, taste, & dining experience. We left waiting to speak to a manager that never came as he was taking care of another matter and I didn't want to wait any longer. I got home and my wife insisted that I call to report our experience and give the manager a chance to do something about it. I spoke with Assistant General Manager Antonio Ramirez who apologized and said he would investigate and call me the following morning. Needless to say he didn't return the call for a week later. I honestly thought he forgot. Mr Ramirez called and once again apologize and offered to pay for our meal on the next visit. He was genuinely concerned about the companies reputation and making up for a poor experience. I returned the following week with a complete different situation. Mr Ramirez introduced himself, followed the hostess to our seat, took the unused glasses and offered to get our drinks. The busser, he could easily pass for Santa Claus, was johnny on the spot with water, tea and refills. Our waitress, Susan was what all should aspire to as far as a quality food server. Susan was suggestive of everything, we chose two of her recommendations and were not unhappy. Between Mr. Ramirez, Susan and Santa Claus (sorry never got the busser's name), my wife and I had the best dining experience that turned our hearts to highly recommend II Fornaio as the place to frequent for that wonderful dining experience. We will definitely return to dine after this time. Thank you for changing our hearts to believe in you. It's time to make Assistant General Manager Antonio Ramirez General Manager with his attitude, demeaner, and loyalty to the company and the return of a good customer experience. “I was recently in the Imperial Beach area and stopped by Trident Coffee. I went with the breakfast burrito which was made with a Gluten Free Tortilla, eggs, sausage, cheese, hash browns, garlic, and onion. It was absolutely delicious. I really appreciated how the ingredients were chopped up really small. They also had chipotle mayo available on the side but I did not try that.

For the coffee, I went with a decaf salted caramel mocha iced cold brew with oat milk, 15/10. So good.

The service was great, the gals working at the register were so nice. In addition, the place was very clean. My total for the two items, including tax was $23.67.

If I’m ever in the area again, I’ll definitely be stopping by.“

“Fabulous food served in a no-frills, casual atmosphere. The service was excellent and Chef Luciano Cibelli comes out of the kitchen and checks with every table to see how diners are doing. Great place to celebrate a special occasion. We enjoyed the seafood fettucini, chicken parmesian, and the catch of the day, which was sea bass on a bed of roasted vegetables, with beet purée and a delicious beurre blanc. Delish!“

“This amazing pastry shop was located near our hotel, and we came here for breakfast. It was fantastic! It got quite busy around 8 a.m. on a weekday, but we managed to snag a cozy outdoor seat. The croissants looked amazing, flaky, buttery, and perfectly baked. My partner and I shared the Filled Kouign amann, and I wish we had ordered more because they were that good. Unfortunately, the tempting Little Italy eateries were calling, so we kept it light. Still, it’s a very cute coffee and pastry shop I’d love to return to.“

“The most scrumptious artichoke arugula, Parmesan shavings salad that I split with my husband. Huge portion. Wonderful Chilean Seabass with black squid linguine. I like it with marinara and they accommodate. My husband had a wonderful pasta Bolognese. We topped it off with an incredible tasting lemoncello cake and two decaf cappuccinos. What a meal! Phenomenal restaurant great chef, lovely service great ambience.“

“So stoked they have vegan rolled tacos! I tried both the potato and the lentil quinoa. Both are delicious, but the lentil quinoa ones blew me away!! 🙌🏽👏🏽👏🏽 They are so flavorful and the tortillas are crispy and crunchy, yet not hard. Also awesome is that they pack everything separately so the food isn’t a soggy mess when you get home. I added vegan sour cream I had at home and topped it with their guacamole, lettuce and salsa. They were heavenly!! I also appreciate that they fry their vegan tacos in a separate fryer. 🙌🏽Also, thank you for not using styrofoam. The containers for the to go orders are compostable made of plant fiber. The place is beautifully decorated, clean, and the staff were very courteous. I will definitely return. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

“Always like to find beautiful patios to enjoy great food and Gooseberries kafe didn’t disappoint. Great service from the owners, everything freshly made, and great food. Came for lunch, had the roast beef sandwich which the owner cooks for 4 hours. Didn’t get a chance to try a cappuccino or one of the many pastries but will be back.“

I have only ever had these from Portos. Sadly, they were too rich! Not the Guava or Cheese, they were way too buttery! The amount of butter used over powered the Guava. Hopefully it's just the batch I had. I will be back to try their other cakes and sandwiches.“

“Nice little bakery that we recently found for a vegan cake, very much vegan friendly and other dietary restrictions. Sadly they are going to be closing up shop in August of 2026. But they do have a nice selection of baked goods, as well as selling mixtures to make their cakes at home. They told me that there are a few vendors around that sell them as well. They also do custom made cakes, nothing over the wall, semi simple with a few options of flavored cakes, frosting/filling and color as well as hand writen words“
