“I come here pretty often and love the flavors, but as a salmon lover I am begging you guys to cut all the fat off the salmon poke. I will get a plate with just the salmon shoyu and spicy salmon, and most pieces have a half an inch thick of rubbery, gross, unchewable fat. The best plate I had here was ironically when the owner was present. Please cut your salmon“

They charge $1 for literally the smallest piece I've ever seen and when I called to voice my concern about feeling ripped off, they didn't care. “Everyone in our house used to like poke. After we found Poke Chop, we LOVE poke! They have so many options of fish and sauces and toppings. I’ve never found as big of a selection. My daughter would eat here every day if I’d let her. There aren’t many places in Hillcrest where a family of 3 can get dinner for around $30, and be totally stuffed, and not feel blah afterwards. The fish is always really fresh. The only thing that could make it better is if they added mango, mmmmm. We try to eat there as much as possible because it will be a very sad day if they close. (It’s a reality in the Hillcrest restaurant business ☹️).“

“I really enjoy Poke places that provide a lot of options for different customers. I was really happy to see that they had mango, pineapple, and their spicy krab is fire! The poke was cut nicely, sometimes poke to too chunky, their poke was cut precisely and you get the right amount with every bite. Additionally, there were a lot of sauce choices. If I’m in the area, I’m definitely coming back!“

“This place is first of all super cute and well decorated. The staff is super nice and friendly and always willing to help! The food is absolutely delicious, from their Philadelphia roll to their bulgogi cup, everything tastes fresh and very filling. For the portion the price is reasonable. I work at the dispensary a block away and come here for lunch virtually everyday and I don’t get tired of it. I alternate from sushi, to poke to a meat rice bowl <3 they’re all worth a try!“

It was packed with fresh ingredients including sweet corn, cucumber, ginger, avocado, pineapple, edamame, white rice, crab meat, and seaweed salad. The sesame oil, sesame seeds, crunchy garlic, seaweed flakes, and ponzu sauce brought everything together with amazing flavor.
