I stumbled upon this restaurant while watching YouTube travel guides for our upcoming trip to San Diego. We love unique dining experiences, so this seemed like our kind of eatery. The food & service was excellent. The owner checked on every table & takes pride in his restaurant which shows in the quality of the food. The head meat tacos were excellent! We also loved the consomè con carne soup.

De Cabeza El Unico is an awesome little hole in the wall with a very good atmosphere and food. Service is top notch, and the owner is super nice and friendly. The chef came over to ask how everything was, making the experience feel personal. The menu features unique salsas made from scratch and a specialty broth with beef head. Favorite dishes include the Pork belly taco, which was flavorful and not fatty, and the pastor taco with a nice salsa. The cocinita pibil taco was very unique and bursting with flavor. Other highlights are the consomme with fresh onion and cilantro, the Cabeza tacos, carne asada, al pastor, chorizo, and the cachete taco which was fatty in the best way. The lengua taco was tender and juicy. The horchata, margaritas, tacos dorados, veggie quesadilla, and flan de ferrero are also great. The chilaquiles had a cool flavor. Everything on the menu is delicious.
