Nice to be back at this restaurant. The one I ordered was a combination and it was large. The thing is, the bowl was not that full and the sides were not a lot. The combination is not that many like before. Other than that it was good. My husband ordered a mango smoothie. It was just ok. Not tasting the real mango.
This is my favorite pho place in Chula Vista. I come all the time. I always order the small pho with well-done steak. This time I was extra hungry so I had an order of three fried egg rolls. I just got out of a cold and I knew this savory pho would give me my strength back so I put extra spice in it and I felt my veins reinvigorated by the time I was finished. Kind staff, reasonable prices, and the chicken com tam was decent. The pho though was a little too sweet for my taste and lacked the depth and spice I am used to.
To be fair, I have to disclose that I am married to a Vietnamese Chef so my pho standards might be unreasonably high. He put it best: they cater to the people around here. And he is right.
