Great longtime favorite! Nothing fancy, just good food and good service. It's good that some things are reliable over time. Every time I'm in town I have dinner here at least once. Update 2025: quite a few years later it's still just great and reliable and wonderful as always. Friendly faces, great food. 6000+ miles and I still stop in every time I can.

Conozco Casa Don Diego desde hace muchos años, mí esposo trabajo aquí cuando eran otros dueños, pero siempre ha mantenido lo auténtico en sus platillos, hoy su ambiente es aún más agradable, sus noches de Karaoke, su DJ, Moises Naranjo, es de lo más profesional, agradezco su atención, cordura y tolerancia cuando hay quienes demanda atención especial y con prepotencia y groserías pierde el control y educación. Pero estos son gajes del oficio. La comida y atención exquisitas. Ampliamente recomendado!!!

8/10/24 - Edit. I used to always go here for the Albondigas soup, and there caldo de res. I went back this last time to get Albondigas soup and was very disappointed. What changed, the soup didn't taste the same, the meat balls tasted bland, no potatoes. Even their awesome red salsa wasn't the same. I'm not sure if its different cooks, or management. The funny thing thing was when I asked for 4 orders of albondigas soup the lady went to see if they had any and she said oh we just finished some. I'm thinking oh good fresh. Fresh is an understatement. I really hope this was a one off. I really like there soups and their red salsa.
Excellent Service and attention and delicious food,,,recommend ? It is the first time and I looked and passed by this restaurant and we finally arrived and enjoyed our dinner and drinks in peace and tranquility,? God continue to bless this place and Restaurant Casa Don Diego

My husband and I decided to grab food to go about 45 minutes before the restaurant closed only to be disappointed. I ordered mole and it tasted like champurrado the color was even off. Then I decided to try my husbands chile verde I took a bite only to find a dark piece of thick curly hair. I called the restaurant and the lady told me she would leave a note for the manager and he’ll get back to me in the morning. She called me 20 minutes later and told me they could remake it and I can go back and pick the food up. I told her I lost my appetite no thank you. She then told me well I can leave a note for the morning crew but I can’t guarantee they’ll honor the replacement food. I kindly ask her to refund our food and she told me they don’t do that. I never heard from a manager the following day. I expected more from this place. Definitely wouldn’t return!

This place used to be really good but now they're just okay. If you wanted a substitution, such as a taco instead of an enchilada, it cost you about $6 extra.
