I cant really give an honest review because when we got there (at 530pm on a Friday night) we were told that they wouldn't have any food for 30 minutes. No explanation as to why.

Outstanding gastropub experience at Common Theory Otay Ranch! The eclectic Asian-inspired menu shines with bold flavors—think Szechuan spicy chicken sandwich and kimchi fried rice that hit all the right notes. Paired with an impressive rotating selection of 30 local craft beers on tap, it's a beer lover's paradise. The vibe is warm and inclusive, blending Korean-Chinese-Mexican-American influences into a true California gem. Even on a bustling evening, the service is spot-on, and the Chula Vista location makes it perfect for a casual brunch or Taco Tuesday. A must-visit for locals—highly recommend! They need to bring back the PANCIT!

Ube ppancakes with chicken were pretty good. Can't beet their happy hour specials. However they can improve on the ube pancakes, they were a bit too chalky. Other than that everything was great.

Awesome food! I had the wagyu burger and I am not a fan of blue cheese at all! And this thing blew mi mind how good it was! Good fries and excellent beer! The service a little slow but not too bad, I would have expected faster service since the time we went there it was not too busy.

The food was great; they have a really good big mug cider here. 8% and was literally apple juice, loved it. Very up beat clean, friendly, and kind service. They have these really cool 1 year anniversary (June 2025) shirts here with a dragon on it. Get 1.

The first time we went here few months ago , we liked it when they are newly opened. However, last month we went here long wait time and the restaurant added a band so we left. I get it to have music at night but to have loud band music with children on a Sunday, it is not appropriate atmosphere for a family lunch. I think they want to draw more crowd but it also make crowds like us not want to come back. Sunday is supposed to be a family day and most people want to be able to talk to each other not be bombarded with loud noise. If the place is bigger then the noise will not be loud but it is small and the band is playing towards the front of the restaurant so even if we sit at the farthest part of it, we can't have a quiet lunch. So now, I took this restaurant out of my list to go to with my family.

Delicious food, great service! Was greeted and sat down by the owner. You can tell he takes pride in his restaurants. He made time to talk to us and other tables to make sure we were good. Definitely coming back. Thanks again!

Highly recommend great atmosphere the food is very high quality at reasonable prices I’ve been there multiple times trying many different items on the menu have never been disappointed they employ very talented chef’s great place to take the family or watch a game with friends great selection of beers

This was an awesome place! The service was excellent and Esmeralda was one of the best servers I’ve ever had! They had a great beer selection and I recommend the salt and pepper wings :)
