This place has been my favorite restaurant in ALL of San Diego for years. Whenever I get to pick where to eat by family members, this is where I ask to go/order from. They already know what i’ll ask so idk why they keep asking me.Anyway, absolutely BEST chicken you can get on this side of the border. No place even comes close. El Pollo Loco has absolutely NOTHING on this place. You honestly can’t even compare.But the quality of the food doesn’t stop on the chicken. All of the sides are amazing as well. I always hate mexican rice as a side, I always opt to leave it out and substitute it for something else at any other place. But here? Have to stop myself from eating the whole large container. Same with the refried beans.The quesadillas are so incredibly delicious too. Even just the plain jack cheese quesadilla.I honestly have never ventured further into their other menu items, since the ones I have tried so far are so good, I can’t stop myself from always getting the same thing. They have SO MANY other options. Maybe one day i’ll be able summon enough will power to skip my usual go-to’s and give the rest of the menu a try.

El pollo loco has better chicken, salsa, and is an overall better value IMO. There's simply too many other good mexican spots to go, than to ever go here again. Decent chicken, on the salty side, same for the salsas.

Yesterday I went for my burrito at night and the cashier was very rude, she was super dry and I thought she was in a bad mood because it was almost time to go out but I saw that she was laughing with the cook and when I asked her again for something about her laughing I turned around Let's see with a face that I have not been able to overcome by turning my eyes, I suppose there are cameras and you can verify what I am saying, but horrible. I don't know if the reason was that I didn't leave a tip, but it seems ridiculous to me that they treat you like that for that reason I'm not in a restaurant to feel forced to do it every time, I have worked for customer service and places where I Client always leaves a tip and the few times they didn't leave me I never made them feel like less because in the end it's my job and that's what they pay me for. The food is super delicious and of the best quality, but the service leaves a lot to be desired, I am addicted to this place, I love it, but the prices are a little higher for the quality but I do have to pay that price and they're going to treat me like I'm trash, I'd better cook myself, I'm super disappointed. The person who assisted me yesterday, Sunday, February 11, was a girl/lady and the time was approximately 7:50 pm

Every time I go to this location I feel like I'm being treated extra special then I see them doing that to the next person after me and that means a lot because they care about more than just getting you in and out of there. They actually care about making everyone they serve feel special.

Do NOT buy the flan. I thought it was just from the flan but I found 5 bugs in a slice of flan! I don’t even want to know what the food Can have and I hope it’s not infested as the flan.

We eat at El Apollo grill at least once a week these days and it is always delicious. Our favorites are the bowls (shrimp, chicken, or steak), the rolled tacos and the mulitas. It's hard to beat food that makes you feel happy to be alive. The service is always friendly and the establishment is always clean. Bright colors are everywhere. I love that this location has outdoor seating. The staff here is super friendly. If you are looking for fresh, well made Mexican food, local to Bonita/Chula Vista - we love this location.
