Although it's a bit far from where I live, I definitely think Ichiban Sando (and its hidden business partner Hako Sushi Box), is worth the drive every now and again! - PARKING - There are some spaces in the lots left and right of the building - just beware of any specific spaces reserved for other businesses! - SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT - The inside isn't too big, maybe enough space to fit 20 people comfortably! They have large menus so it's easy to read everything. After ordering, it took around 10-15 minutes to get our food. Really nice staff here, super friendly and welcoming! - FOOD/DRINK - Vietnamese Coffee ($4.50): Super strong in coffee flavor, just the way it should be! Thai Tea ($4.00): Also a great depth of flavor from the Thai Tea - they also mentioned it wasn't made with real milk for those lactose intolerant! Shrimp Katsu Sando ($11.50): So crispy and so flavorful!!! The Katsu was well fried, and the sauces in the sandwich were delicious! Loved their milk bread too! Fruit Sando (8.50): The fruit is so fresh and the cream has just the perfect amount of sweetness! The milk bread again is so soft!! Sugoi Medium Box - You Pick ($70.00): You get to pick 4 special rolls, either 10pc nigiri or sashimi, and one side! So many amazing rolls to choose from - it was hard to decide! We got the Dragon Roll, Rainbow Roll, Hako Special Roll, and the Salmon Lava Roll. Everything was so fresh and delicious!!!! - OVERALL - An amazing spot that more people should try out! Come for their sandos and their sushi boxes!

While placing an order it asks what time for pickup, I ordered over an hour before my time slot and they called me to let me know it would be a 20 minute delay. We get there 20 minutes later and they say it will be 40 more minutes. Ruined my plans for the evening, don't put time slots for pickup if there's always going to be a delay. Smh

Food Presentation was nice. Unfortunately the strawberries in the fruit Sando was bad and tasted like mold. Our drinks weren't anything special. Place had a hole in the wall feel. Short staffed. ***note: Half of the stuff you see on Yelp are no longer part of their menu.! Super disappointing as a touring visitor.

Very yummy sandwiches, and the boxes contain a load of food. The ambient is something to be desired though, we had to clean our own table as no one made any attempt in the hour we were in the restaurant.

Visited a while back and the food was okay, I wanted to try again, got 2 sandos. They were better than the first time but the last few bites noticed mold on the bread on one of the bread slices, not sure if I ate any before noticing. The other sando was a bit dry and the cashier/service was not the best.

Got the shrimp Sando and Chicken Katsu sando. Both had plenty of shrimp and chicken. Reasonably priced and quick service.

Great service and food. The sandwiches are very good and offer something that you typically cannot get in Chula Vista.

The sushi was amazing & at a great price. I think it's so cute that it comes in a pizza box.

Good sandos! I love this place for lunch. Bread light and fluffy. Cool aesthetically pleasing pizza box sushi.

I bought some of their spam musibis, and ever since I ate them my stomach has been hurting so bad. I'm even nauseous. I don't know if it's because they're not kept warm like in a food heater, but I just didn't think too much of it. And now I'm regretting eating here.

I recently took my family to this local establishment and Chula Vista. We were very surprised at the great quality of food, wide selection of items for purchase, as well as the excellent and friendly customer service. Everything was freshly prepared and tasted delicious. It made us feel homesick for Japan, which we visit frequently. Highly recommended if you were in the Chula Vista area. Sometimes parking can be an issue, but it has never been an issue. The last few times we went. This establishment is a great local business to patronize and get a bite to eat.

I came here after being enticed by many social media ads. I had the chicken katsu sando with a side of curry. It tasted ok on its on and much better with the curry sauce on top. My partner got the shrimp sando and said it was one of the best things he had ever tasted. The wait took a while but it was understandable as they were understaffed. The staff that did help us was nice and apologetic. Next time I will try one of their egg sandos.

The food is so good I got the shrimp Katsu sandwich with fries (not a lot is given) and was kind of iffy on ordering the Hawaiian Blend with boba but it’s completely worth it. I just wouldn’t come here if you’re on a time crunch I waited over 40 mins for my sandwich and never received my drinks and when asking for a refund for my drinks after an hour of waiting they didn’t seem apologetic and gave me the wrong refund back but food is great would go back if they’re less busy
