Italianissimo is my family’s favorite restaurant for a multitude of reasons. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is cozy, and the service is excellent. It’s our go-to place to celebrate special occasions or just enjoy a good meal. And now they serve cocktails, I tried the espresso martini and it’s so good! So thankful for this Chula Vista gem!!

The Italian food here is simple and authentic. I did expect the chicken breast to be thick but the one served to me was rather flat. I filled up with bread. The wine servings are small, which I did ask the waiter to fill up the glass some more but i guess they go by small serving sizes. The experience was worth the try. Not sure if I would come back, but I would recommend others to try this place if they are curious.

My family and I enjoyed the wonderfully comfortable atmosphere, delicious authentic dishes, and the attentive service. I ordered the chefs special of lemon caper cod with spinach steamed rice. It was perfectly seasoned and fresh andnlight innflavor. We ordered dessert to share after we took advantage of sharing a bottle of wine with a reasonably priced corking fee. We are very greatful for such a memorable meal.

Lasagna wasnt like la bellas. It was a lot of tomato sauce with not much cheese or meat. We got the italianismo pizza which was like a vey basic pepperoni cheese pizza. Service was ecellent and atmosphere was really nice.

Itslianisdimo Trattoria is a hidden gem that captures the true essence of Italian dining. The highlight of my visit was their Neapolitan pizza—perfectly blistered crust, light yet chewy, with just the right balance of fresh tomato, mozzarella, and basil. You can taste the authenticity in every bite, as if it came straight out of a wood-fired oven in Naples.
The Caprese salad was equally impressive: vibrant, juicy tomatoes paired with creamy mozzarella and a drizzle of rich olive oil. Simple, fresh, and beautifully plated, it set the tone for the meal and reminded me why Italian cuisine is so timeless.
The warm atmosphere and attentive service made the experience even better. If you’re craving authentic Italian flavors done right, this trattoria should be at the top of your list.

LOVED THIS PLACE! shout out to Server Christina, she was so lovely and helpful, such a positive person and always there for us. Totally coming back for the food and the great service and hopefully we get her again!! Carbonara pasta 8/10 creamy and full of the bacon pieces Margherita pizza 10/10 so fresh and saucy Lasagna 9/10 so saucy and fresh! Dessert: tiramisu 10/10 Totally this place!!!!

I am just saying the truth of my experience and I tried to reach out to management but I feel they ignored my concerns. My food was not hot at all when it was brought out to me. I think it was due to the fact that the server was socializing with guests that were not dining. I could hear the cook in the back ring the bell to most likely notify that the food was done. When I got the food, I was so surprised by the amount of food it was cause it was very little for the price I was going to have to pay. The gnocchi was rubbery. Just not good at all for my first time dining there.

Perfect. Italianissimo Trattoria gets it right. Their wine list is impressive. I'd encourage you to order the Gaglioppo with the lamb shank. Sublime. It is a wonderful wine, and a rare find ...this, coming from a guy that used to own a wine bar. It pairs beautifully with the lamb, or any of the more hearty dishes. If you've never been, you owe it to yourself to go in for dinner. You won't be disappointed... rather, you'll be thrilled. You're bound to return. You can't come here once. If you're looking for a special place for a great Italian meal, you'd be hard pressed to do better. I was staying down the street at El Primero Hotel and the owner nearly walked me down here. I felt compelled to try. Now I pass along the favor to you. Come in once and make it your regular.
