Amazing fresh delicious food- salads, pasta, tiramisu. A little pricier but well worth it.

Service was HORRIBLE. Waitress came around a total of three times, including the time she came to charge my card. My bland linguini with clams came cold and had to send it back. They warmed it up and brought it right back. Didn't even offer a discount. Won't be returning, that's for sure.

I'm not sure if it was an off night, but the customer service was not good. We had to return a plate because it came cold as well.

Normally I would not do this on Yelp, but we are SO DISAPPOINTED!! Tried to call the restaurant to let them know, but no answer!? Been singing the praises of Italianissimmo for years, and today, for pickup ordered a Margarita Pizza and Portabello appetizer for friends visiting from New York. Unfortunately, in all the years, I have never had such a bad experience. The Margarita Pizza was doughy, tasteless, and even the cheese seemed off! Not sure what happened, but was hoping it was a bad day, however, even the bread with the Portabello appetizer was burnt and tasted bland and burnt. The only saving grace was the Portabello appetizer with sausage and spinach (which we split between four people and I made my own garlic bread. Also, I do have to say that at least the customer service in the restaurant was excellent. Had a wonderful conversation with the cashier, and I do hope Italianissimmo will take this seriously, and improve or go back to the way they used to make pizza!! Thank you.

I have to give 5 big stars here! True Italian food here from the atmosphere to the food is wonderful. The food is fresh & hot and pasta's al dente. Servers speak Italian to big family here. Their so amazing and excellent from seating to bring out the house made bread hot to making sure everything is perfect on your meal. We've come here more than a few times and we have had excellent service every time The food is excellent it bring us back to Italy. We have made this favorite spot. And it close to home and we don't have pay for parking like downtown This family Resturant has been here since a long time here and they made it thru the pandemic A good friend told us about Italianissimo and glad she did too! Come bring a friend and have a good lunch they have inside and outside dinning when the weather is nice. Good wine too

Excellent choices and all are delicious. I've been to Italy 3 times, so I feel like I know what Italian food tastes like.

My family & I have been coming here for years. The food and service have always been great. We are alway able to find parking. We normally come for lunch to celebrate a family’s birthday and there’s no crowds. You can’t go wrong with their tomato garlic basil soup but I thought I would try their seasonal soup. It was good but the tomato garlic basil soup is more flavorful. This time I had the eggplant lasagna which hit the spot. We will definitely be back.Parking: There’s street parking. Depend on the time and day, you may have to pay the meter. We were there on a Sunday afternoon and didn’t have to pay for parking.

Absolutely the best Italian in San Diego County. Authentic food and a great atmosphere. The vegan menu is large and delicious. Special shout out to Gabriel who always makes our visit feel special.

Best Italian cuisine in the south bay. If you sig outside the staff sometimes loses track of you & the last couple of visits it has taken 20 min for a capuchino because they had to send a staff member to 7-11 for mikk

Best, if not the only, upscale restaurant in Chula Vista. The food is consistently really good and the service is generally great. Really a nice place to have a good meal in a comfortable setting.

I went in with hopes that this place was going to live up to the positive reviews on Yelp, but I was sorely disappointed. I was there for lunch on a Sunday. Service was good; food was terrible. I ordered the penne arrabbiata and added chicken. The chicken was absolutely terrible and ruined the dish for me. It tasted like precooked chicken that was warmed up in a microwave. The chicken was an extra $6.50. We also ordered the lasagna. That was terrible as well. The sauce had an odd taste; I can't find the words to describe. My husband compared the taste to a TV dinner. Overall, we don't plan on returning or recommending this restaurant.

So disappointed! I read several of the Yelp reviews before I went to try this restaurant. So many of them were so good. I did not have the same experience. When we arrived (right when they opened for lunch), the waiter greeted us and offered beverages. He was very pleasant. He offered wine and appetizers. I asked him which he recommended, Fettuccine Carmelina or Rigatoni Montegna. He mentioned that a lot of people really love the fettuccine. I didn't really want to spend $23 on a pasta dish for lunch but thought the scallops and smoked salmon in a vodka tomato cream sauce sounded delicious. After we ordered, we were served a basket of delicious warm bread with olive oil and basalmic vinegar to dip the bread in. I'm sorry, but I thought that the olive oil didn't taste very fresh. I asked for some pepper. I expected fresh ground pepper and was a little surprised when a coffee shop style pepper shaker was brought to our table. Then our entrees came. I was shocked when I saw mine. I didn't expect a bowl overflowing with pasta, but I do expect a more generous serving. There was probably a cup (at most) of overcooked pasta with maybe 5 baby scallops and a tablespoon of finely shredded smoked salmon. Very skimpy! The sauce was extremely bland. After all of the fantastic reviews of the food here, I thought it would be much better. And, my number one pet peeve is overcooked pasta. When our waiter asked how everything was, I responded that my pasta was a little overcooked. He completely ignored my comment. He didn't apologize or offer to remake my dish......nothing. He never offered to bring us more bread. Two others in our group had the same dish that I had and they weren't impressed, either. Others commented that everything was very bland, not enough flavor. Truly a big disappointment. I will not be back. I will say that the restaurant itself is really cute.
