I was just there for dinner and got the 2-protein combo with two sides. I got the teriyaki beef and Kailua pork, with furikaki white steamed rice and pickled cucumber salad (namasu?). I was born and raised in Hawaii, and this was the best Hawaiian food I’ve had in forty years on the mainland. The teriyaki had the right amount of soy and sweet flavors. The kalua was tasty, not watery, and with no cabbage or other filler—just what I want when I want kalua. Serving sizes were excellent—enough for ono-licious leftovers! They even had my favorite flavor of Hawaiian Sun juice (Passion Orange), which I’ve been drinking for well over a half-century—for that extra taste of home. The staff was friendly and helpful. There are only four chairs at a bar service for eat-in; we intended to get our food to go anyway. Prices were reasonable for this amount of food. I will definitely be back.

We happened to stumble upon this place after church services. The food is good, highly recommend. The atmosphere has a nice island vibe to it.

First time today. I tried Kalei’s Plate with garlic chicken and beef teriyaki. Mac salad is good, pickled cucumber is great, teriyaki is great and garlic chicken is great as well. Spam musubi must have. Overall is great.

The food is outstanding with excellent portion sizes. The staff is friendly and courteous. The Chocolate Chip Banana Bread is really delicious.

Parking: The strip mall has a lot of stores in it and parking can be tight. Some street parking is available at the east end of the mall which is likely easiest and most convenient.

The gentleman at the front counter give me a really warm welcome when I walked in and I’ve never had Hawaiian cuisine before so I asked him to give me a little bit of a rundown of like kind of what his personal recommendations are. He recommended me the teriyaki beef and the garlic chicken. Both entrées are amazing and then the two sides that I got are the cucumber salad and the rice. The cucumber salad is so refreshing. And the rice is well cooked. I also got a package of Adzuki Bean Manju and it’s delicious. I was slightly hesitant about the bean paste in the center but it was very good.

A hidden gem. Whenever I come down into the San Diego area I must stop here for the grindz. The food is always fresh and ono! Love this place!
