This is a good place to unwind, food is good so is service, plenty of TVs if you're into sports. Large bar with plenty of drinks. Music can be a little loud specially when they have karaoke nights on certain weekdays or live music on weekends.

Great a la cart taco choices. Happy hour specials during the weekdays. A variety of music played when sporting events aren't on the bar TV's. 80's music does give an old school vibe. Both indoor and outdoor dining available.

First time there. From the Hostess, the Waitress, Sareh ( please forgive me if I spelled your name wrong)the other waitresses and staff and owner were all very welcoming and attentive. The food was as their restaurant says Muy “Sabrosa”!!! I will definitely be back.

Went to celebrate a family birthday with large party. I liked the fact it was easy to get everyone in. Loud enough that the 4 kids could play and run around without bothering other people.
Great for reconnecting with family @healingground.online

On July 2, 2025, at around 2pm, I had a deeply upsetting experience at La Sabrosita on Birch Road in Chula Vista.
My server, Patty, brought me two tacos—a Tijuana taco and a surf and turf taco—served with two salsas: a tomato-based one and a tomatillo-based one. The tomatillo salsa tasted noticeably sour, so I immediately switched to the tomato-based salsa. Unfortunately, it was too late. About 30 minutes later, I started feeling ill and had to make multiple trips to their bathroom—security cameras might even show me rushing in. The discomfort was so severe that I felt embarrassed and ended up visiting another nearby restaurant to use their bathroom as well.
When I returned to La Sabrosita to address the issue, I spoke with Patty, who informed me the manager wasn’t present. I explained my situation, but she became very defensive, stating she called the manager, who refused a refund because I had finished the meal. I clarified that I felt fine during the meal but got sick shortly after, likely from the bad salsa. Patty dismissed my concerns, insisting the salsa was ‘perfect’ and that other customers had no issues with it. Her refusal to acknowledge the problem or offer any resolution made the experience even worse. I’m now dealing with food poisoning and strongly caution others to be careful when dining here.
From the moment you walk up, to the waiter and waitresses, you are greeted with a welcoming smile. I ordered chilaquiles poblano which are the best!!! The serving size is more than generous. I love this place and highly recommend this place that is so welcoming

I decided to give this restaurant another shot after the first experience when ordering Menudo and having just soup with less than a spoon full of hominy.
Food was hands down better than last time although we ordered chilaquiles and birria tacos this time. Portions were great more than enough 👏👏
Service was great (our waiter was the Manager which seemed he was the only one smiling and having a good time) beverage and food came out quickly.
Atmosphere was good.
The only downside is that it is a bit expensive, maybe because of the location and also there's really not a lot of options in the area so they can definitely they can upcharge, but if it was in a location like downtown San Diego, bankers Hill or mission hills this restaurant will not survive with this prices.
