I know lots of people complain about the quality of food compared to the price, but it’s also hard to find bomb carne asada burritos or California fries elsewhere. I’ll probably keep making the drive for the fries. I have yet to pay less for better California fries and I’ve lived here for over a decade. And don’t even get me started on their red salsa ?
Not such a good experience on a Sunday afternoon. Tried to call in an order while on the 125 in Spring valley and got put on hold. After a few minutes on hold and now in CV coming up on E st, my wife hung up.
We walked in and ordered a chicken burrito, small carne asada chips and super rolled tacos. We waited 30 minutes for this order to be ready. We saw people coming and going with their food so ???
Patience is the essence of fine Mexican food? Can you imagine sitting at a drive through waiting for 30 minutes? This is not restaurant quality food and it tastes like it.
Maybe looking for a full service restaurant instead?? Sitting in the store for 30 minutes waiting for this order doesn’t count.
Family in from out of town just thinking about Lolitas... lunch was great as usual and our guest was equally pleased with his meal.

After decades and decades of coming to Lolita’s, it’s time to leave a review. Seriously I am so sick of these food places ripping you off- the quality is going down but prices are skyrocketing. I get it, it’s a challenging economy, but this is highway robbery. I swear my carne asada burrito is the size of my palm. I’m not kidding (see photo). For reference I am 5’4” and I wear a size 7 shoe. So just imagine the size of my palms- not very big. This is ludicrous. The bean & cheese burrito was slightly smaller. I can wrap the circumference of my fingers around the burrito. Unbelievable.

Not what it used to be. They stopped putting the good seasoning and the amount of meat shrank and the fries went up in the California burrito.

The burritos are excellent, especially the Monster, the only detail is that the sauces are not always equally spicy, and sometimes they are a little spicy and other times they are very spicy, so if you don't like spicy very much, don't trust yourself

Ordered to-go, waited a true 30 minutes. People were coming and going with food. I got up to ask where my food was, as several people who arrived later got their food before me at this point. After a Quick Look around the black polo realized they placed it on their online pickup. It would have been fine if they just remade the food on their own accord. Food was stale, I didn’t want to go through the hassle of having it remade because the kitchen staff said “no” to the manager. “Have him check it first”. This location blows. I’ve had issues in the past here as well. Only reason I came back is because I couldn’t find parking in front of/behind Don Roman.
My wife enjoys their chicken enchiladas combo plate. Today one of the enchiladas had a piece of leg bone (thumb sized) and another smaller bone. I can't see how they could have missed such large pieces. The beans were cold. Very disappointed after being pleased in the past.

Seems like every taco shop is skimping on the beef lately, very disappointing.
Carne asada burrito with beans and guacamole - super floppy and mushy because there was hardly any beef in there - I asked for a carne asada burrito not a brand and guac burrito with a sprinkle of beef. Also took 35 minutes to get my order which was not worth it in the end.
This is probably the worst Lolitas I've ever been to. Go to Telegraph Canyon or even the one in Clairemont is better.

For the most part it’s pretty good, but was very disappointed on the roll tacos that come with everything. Barely any guacamole or sour cream but oh they do splurge on a pound of pico de gallo. I feel like for 10$ they could have added more guacamole and sour cream.
