Marie Callender's Restaurant & Bakery

I am from New Jersey and I was in San Diego on vacation looking for a diner restaurant like we have in NJ. I was very pleased to find this place! My wife and I did their 2 for $30 special where you get soup/salad, entree, and a slice of pie for both people. The food was really good and the portions were generous! There is a slight musty smell in the front of the restaurant but don't let that bother you. Everything was really good. We will likely return here during the rest of our vacation since it's a great deal for the price.

Nice family restaurant in Chula Vista since the 1980s.Great breakfast menu with many choices. Cozy, homey feeling. Also has a bar with sports TVs. Plenty of parking available.

I remember my dad taking us to this Mary Callender's for breakfast many years ago and today it's as good as I remember specifically the pies and their ready to go Thanksgiving turkey dinners. I appreciate their sugar free apple pie - simply delicious. We will be back soon

Fastest service, great happy hour, and all of the food was hot and fresh and delicious. Such a great experience as usual with the fam!!!!

Service was poor. Food was alright. However it's not the same as it used to be and you can see it in the low volume of customers and very timely wait for a small section of the restaurant. Short staff... Poorly staffed... Apathetic waiters... It's grown sad. Food lacks the formerly very fresh and wholesome goodness that Marie Calendars used to be known for and to which I remember tasting growing up. Their well-known french onion soup is off the menu. The cornbread good but not great. The pies still rock and they still serve comfort food. Just makes us sad to go back.

I've never been to a Marie Callander I didn't throughly enjoy. The food, atmosphere and staff make it hard to leave. If you've never been here, you're really missing out!

The food was very good and seasoned. My wife and I stumbled upon this place on our last night in San Diego and we like this restaurant the best. If they opened one here in Arizona places like Village Inn, Denny's etc would lose lots of customers. Also, pricing and service were great.

This Marie Calenders was pretty darn good, our waiter was very attentive, presentable, nice, and more than fair. The food was great too, definitely a place to remember and to come back to, for those not from San Diego County, this place is in downtonw Chula Vista. Thank you for the great service. ( hey google, on a side note, cause you give me this notifications when I enter the building and not after I'm home so that I can take pictures)

We had a wonderful experience from the moment we walked in till the time we left. Mary was our server and she has such a great personality! Our food was delicious and just her friendly and welcoming personality made us feel right at home! We will definately go back soon!

If you have young kids, take them to Denny's but if they're a little older, Marie Callender's is where you take them because the food here is better tasting and, they've got the cakes and pies on sale at the front as you enter the store so you don't forget to take one home as you leave. Plus older children may be a little more particular and discriminating in taste. That's a good thing.

I want to start by saying our service was wonderful. I took my Mother on 10th of May becouse she loves it there and are service was wonderful we had three service people that check to see how we were and food was fabulous like the Servers.
