Tried dining in 35 min before closing, they said only to go orders. I think its the new staff because we have came later than this and we usually get seated not this time unfortunately.

I usually go to the Pho Ca Dao on El Cajon boulevard which is delicious but I was in Chula Vista and decided to try the spot. Food portions were small, they forgot to give me the bean sprouts or condiments I requested. They didn't even provide utensils. The egg rolls were bland and soft. Nothing like where I usually go. Even when busy they are excellent. The only thing these two locations have in common is the name. Totally unsatisfied with my experience.

PCD in Mira Mesa was good from what I remember, so i assumed this should be too. We learned the hard way that it is definitely not the same. Service was fine, but the food was NOT good. The crispy egg rolls were fine; vegetarian, but that wasn't a problem. The nuoc cham was flavorless- SUPER diluted with water. The worst of it was the noodles. They tasted uncooked, but they were all broken. We all ate the meat out of our bowls and left everything else. How could this be a PHO place and have it be that bad? It's a sad, sad representation of Vietnamese food. Hard pass at all costs.

Wait to get any service once in the door 15-30min wait with staff seeing and disregarding you. For people dining in the line was long there were many open tables and seats but no staff seated them. It’s not hard to seat people give them water and menus. Instead left a waiting line of discontent many who just left. Took 1hr and 15min till I was given my to go order. Had to go up to the staff and ask about it because they left an order at the front desk unattended “door dash order”. Staff on the floor 1@ bar, 1 waiter, 1waitress. Definitely should have a host/hostess staffed.

Restaurantji Recommends
I love coming to this restaurant, the food is always phenomenal, consistent and delicious, I recommend the fresh rolls, and the rare steak pho, upgrading it to a big bowl for just one extra dollar is also a good option when you're hungry, they are quick to serve you, bring you water refills, and I like it when then have their own vibe going with that music. Plus, we come here to watch the little robot do his thing and bring food out to the guests. 😂

Didn’t get to try the food. Dirty dishes sitting on empty tables. It was quite busy with one waiter. I don’t blame him but he needs to learn how to prioritize things. I noticed he was doing things that had no importance rather than assisting customers. The way the seating is set up is ridiculous, I don’t wanna eat sitting literally right next to a complete stranger. We left without trying anything or even getting a chance to sit down.

Bad sour taste, soggy egg rolls, no bowl and not sufficient amount of broth to cook the noodles for the Pho and The tofu in the vermicelli bowl was not cooked and had a soggy uncooked coating on the tofu (like theyforgotto cook it)and black mint leaves.
