This place happened to be nextdoor to our hotel and after reading some reviews on it, somebody mentioned it was a hidden gem. Think they were 100% spot on. Some of the best sushi I've had in a very long time. I got the chef's special roll and it was amazing. I would come back again and recommend it to a friend. The only thing that threw me off was the "hole-in-the-wall" atmosphere, but I suppose some people look for that sorta thing.Kid-friendliness: I'd bring my kids, no problem, but there isn't a lot of space inside. There is some outside seating.

My favorite sushi place in the Chula Vista area. We always order the mixed tempura, it's super crunchy, and the spicy edamame. The fish quality is also very fresh.

Ramen is just a tier above instant ramen. Not that good.

Best shushi and ramen in Chula Vista.Currently only take out or eat outside but still amazing as ever. I first came here in 2017 and it’s still a great secret sushi spot.

I have many sushi places I attend regularly, but this one was a hidden gem. The chef was nice and friendly and the food were unbelievably delicious.I ordered the spicy noodles, caterpillar roll, big plate of sashimi combo, and udon noodles soup. The spicy noodles had great flavoring, just perfect. You might want to ask for more chili if you like it very spicy. The caterpillar roll came in a good portion, rice quality was great. The sashimi combo plate had a great variety of fish, octopus, and shrimp that were very fresh and tasty. I will definitely return for the udon noodles, especially on a cold and rainy day.The owner is a military vet, I love to support those that risk their lives to serve this country. They love an honest feedback and they are very nice people. Highly recommended and will bring all of my friends here if the word "Sushi" ever comes up again.

I never post reviews, but this is far and away the worst sushi I have ever eaten. I cannot believe this place is actually open. It is the lowest quality sushi you can actually get. Awful.

Yelp brought me here.. Unfortunately the 4 stars rating is definitely misleading. Which is unfortunate. Also, should have read the reviews first prior. And by the time I read the reviews it was too late. We had already ordered. This place is open only for outdoor seating. You order at the door and your food is brought to you. Ordered the Batman and Tokyo rolls. The rolls were not as described. The wrong fish was used according to the printed menu. The calamari was oily and nothing special, pictured. I'm sure pre-pandemic this place was better. Overall, sushi was not super horrible but definitely not good.

I also don't want to be mean but this is the worst sushi I've ever had. I really hope I don't get sick and actually stopped eating about half way through because it just didn't taste right. I'm from out of town and here for work and chose this place based on rating and boy am I disappointed.

I really really don't want to be mean... but this is not a good sushi restaurant. The prices are not cheap, and in fact are comparable to other sushi places in more expensive areas. The prices I would not mind at all, as sushi ingredients are not cheap. However, the quality is the worst I have seen in San Diego. The rice does not taste for feel like real typical sushi rice, and as you can see from the photos it just falls apart as soon as you touch it and in fact was already falling when it arrived. We actually couldn't even eat our sushi with the chop sticks as they just fell apart so we'd used spoons... lastly the rice was very very chewy and some were hard.... The service staff was very nice and attentive though! We just hope they lower their prices to match the quality or raise the quality of the sushi.

My daughter and I were on a mommy and daughter day, so we wanted to eat sushi. Done shopping and we was starving. Lol...,OK so... your order is taken at the door. Your order is given on to go boxes, I asked for sriracha was given the little plastic package. Basic SUSHI. Would definitely not come back.

i don't know why this is 5 stars, cause it should be higher. i went with some homies to this place since the sushi place we were gonna go to originally was too far so we went here instead. boy that eel roll goes crazy beyond belief and the chef be pullin in with some travis scott 1s hella dripped out. but hella good sushi highly recommend.

The sushi here was fantastic. I arrived here and they only have outdoor seating, which is a bit strange to me, now that we are approaching over two and a half years of COVID. I don't know why we are placing our orders outside the restaurant and only have outdoor seating available. The outdoor seating is limited, I ordered my sushi and had to eat it in my car because there were only a few tables outside, which were occupied. The food I ordered was actually delicious; two specialty rolls and some salmon sashimi. Overall, good quality place; just increase seating

I'm ashamed to admit: I paid $35 for two lousy sushi rolls. It's s my fault. I know. I should have walked away. I was with friends so I made the bad decision to bite the bullet and paid that absurd price for lame sushi. The restaurant smells like nail polish remover too.
