I have to complement them on their chilaquiles and enchiladas poblanas. Even as we came in a bit before closing time they were very gracious. We had good service.

Had the green sauce chicken Enchiladas... was exactly what I was looking for! Guaranteed authentic, I wasn't too sure about the beans, but the rest of the food made up for it. They sat a party of 8 for breakfast, which you'd want to get there early or else you'll be standing outside, yes even on a week day.

Great food, just usually a wait time but goes by fast. Sundays there’s a farmers market across the street.
Kid-friendliness: There is a kid menu

Went here on a Sunday and was not expecting too much. However, their chilaquiles poblano was out of my taste buds. It was so good that I would come back again. The wait was probably about 20-35 minutes. But was definitely worth it.

In this restaurant they serve the best chiles en nogada in all of San Diego, apart from the fact that the food on the menu is delicious. It is worth coming and tasting here. Congratulations!!!

My wife and I recently visited Talavera Azul, and we had a fantastic experience! She ordered the chicken tostadas, while I had the chilaquiles with shredded chicken. Both dishes were incredibly delicious—packed with flavor and generous portions. The prices were great, making it even better.
There’s usually a line to get in, but it’s definitely worth the wait! Talavera Azul has some of the best Mexican food in town, with plenty of amazing options to choose from. The coffee was freshly made and a perfect complement to the meal. We’ll definitely be coming back soon!

We decided to try this place due to the great reviews. Upon arrival, we put our name on the waitlist and were informed there would be a 30-minute wait. After 30 minutes had passed, we noticed that groups of the same size (2) who arrived after us were being seated. I went inside to check if our name had been called and found that we had been skipped on the list, with two groups of two being seated ahead of us. Despite pointing this out to the hostess, she ignored my concerns. Another staff member came over and told us it would be a few more minutes, but after seeing more people seated before us that had arrived after us, we decided to leave. The experience felt disorganized and left a poor impression.

Always love eating here. The only thing I believe they should upgrade is their bathrooms. They only have one stall and there’s usually a line to get in the women’s.

We've been here a few times now and it's one of the places we can take my Mexican MIL that she's always happy. Wait gets long later in the morning, so coming closer to 8 is recommended.
All of the food we've tried so far is very good. My recommendation is the half omelette with side of chilaqiles. They have a table salsa they bring out, but if you're okay with spice ask about the habanero salsa - it's really good. The café de olla is a bit on the sweet side. They also have pretty affordable mimosas. Everything we've tried has been great, and the costs are fairly reasonable compared to other breakfast places in San Diego.
The only drawbacks are that it's very hot in there most days and also very loud.
The bathroom is nice and clean and accessible!
Parking: There's some paid parking out front and a paid lot in back, but check the side streets first. You can park for free if you're willing to take a very short walk.

What makes a great Mexican restaurant is the salsa, they only had one option here’s a picture of the small lil salsa I got and it wasn’t spicy at all, most great restaurants give you atleast 2 or more varieties of salsa and chips, second the Pueblo sauce was plain, I had to ask for an extra salsa to add more flavor to it,I heard the hype about this place but it did not live up to expectations
