No stars at all if i could, because the girl had an attitude immediately as soon as we asked what flavor tamales they had. We walked right out of the door, we were right behind another family saying the same thing. The girl does not want to work, then don't be working! And on top of that had no tamales, only chicken and pineapple

10/10 would recommend. it was my first time going here and will definitely be back. i was recommended the mango raspado by the nice cashier and it did not disappoint. i used to live in mexico and have been craving an authentic raspado for so long and i finally found my favorite place. best part is, it was only $6. they also sell tamales which i will definitely be trying next time i go. delicious and cheap.

They were highly recommended by friends. Came here for the first time in the early afternoon after lunch, and most of the good tamale flavors were gone... Come early for best selection! Bought the family pack - the tamales were moist and flavorful, and the beans were very tasty. Much better than some of the same food in the restaurants!

Yesterday I stopped by to try and get a Gordita. Then I saw that they raised the prices to 7.99 each! Wow!! Wtf??? Those were the best Gorditas I've ever tasted and I loved going there after a long day at work to treat myself with one. Sadly I just walked out of there, and didn't even bother to buy one. The price was good as it was before, that really sucks this was truly my Gordita spot.

Tamales Ancira is an absolute gem for tamale lovers! Their tamales are delicious, but take my advice—get there early. I arrived later in the day and most flavors were already sold out, but I was lucky enough to snag their cheese and corn tamales, and they were incredible. Perfectly seasoned, with that homemade texture and flavor that makes you feel like you're eating something truly special. It’s clear this spot is a local favorite, and now I know why! I can’t wait to come back earlier next time to try more of their amazing selection. Highly recommend!

I tried them some time ago and I liked them, now a lot of dough and little meat. I don't recommend them! They have lowered the quality and flavor, they have a long waiting line for that product, they disappointed me! I hope they improve!!

This morning Dec-17-25 I finally went to this place, this place have being there for so many years. And advertise for ecxelente tamales. 😱 I ordered a combo two tamales.one queso con rajas and didn't fine the cheese, more masa tamal. Chicken, no flavor. tamales over priced. Real small for the Price. Gonzalez market sells better tamales and reasonable price. For me no more ancira.

During the corona virus deal over four years ago, I decided to visit Tamales Ancira which is in Chula Vista. It was one of those places that I wanted to check out for years. You know how it is with those back burner items.

The spot is in a business park which is usually dead on the weekends when people are off work. Plus, at this time, many people were doing remote work because of the state regulations.

So, it is kind of odd that it would be open on Sunday with less foot traffic.

There is no seating available on the inside or outside of the restaurant at the time. This meant that I needed to find a spot for myself. Public restrooms were also not available too. Remember those days when you could not eat inside a restaurant or even use the bathrooms. ?

I ordered a bean and cheese tamale which was odd for me because I am used to getting ones with chicken, pork or beef. I didn't think these ones even existed.

The refried beans that I got on the side were creamy, light and full of pork flavor. The tamales were filling and fresh meaning that the masa was still moist and not dry.

I would recommend this spot but be aware of the area because it is not the best part of town plus be prepared to eat out rather than inside.
