Punk theme bar but never playing punk music. I’ve tried this place several times in HOPES to listen to some punk music and drink a few brews. They’re never playing punk. Overall, it’s a cool spot to catch a quick beer but if you’re visiting because it’s a punk bar, it’s not.

They don't have food but they have food trucks ..ND for parents they have changing station in the bathroom!! Thats a huge plus at least for me.

Been living in Chula Vista for a couple of years and 3 Punk Ales is a staple brewery on 3rd Street. Decent selection of brews, not a huge selection, but if they don't fit your fancy, take a walk down 3rd and you will find something that does.The crew does a good job of keep the vibes right. Honestly, seeing some bad reviews, I can see how this happens. It's a locals place and the vibe can change on who is behind the bar. Definitely seen some "questionable behavior" from the dudes who work there, but not enough to knock them any rating stars.Overall, very happy and a great local place! Cheers!

Won't be coming back here the bartender seemed bothered by us asking for a sample before we purchased a beer. He slammed the samples down and just said these are the samples, leaving us wondering which was which. We would have stayed and had more beers had the bartender been friendlier and more helpful. First time here, and definitely not coming back for more.

Always wanted to check out 3 Punk Ales but never again. I was standing in front of the barkeep when he looked up to get my beer order. Two other dudes he apparently knew walked in behind me, and the barkeep brushed me off and pointed at the guys behind me to get their order first. Way to grow a business. I’ll come back next year when your location is another brewery.

Unfortunately no Rusian stout nor Tres Animales during my visit. It's a good place to relax and enjoy a beer.
Awesome spot with a Punk Rock theme. The beers and seltzers were amazing. Super clean inside and out.The only issue would be the lack of anything actually “punk” as they were playing hip hop.Yes we will go back next time we are in Chula Vista.

The gentleman working the bar (mustache and long hair) on 9/11/23 at approximately 8:00pm started yelling at me because I moved a chair and sat down. There were only 6 other individuals inside and plenty of seating available. We went back and forth trying to make sense about the chair. He yelled at me saying that those were the rules and that i needed to obey his commands. Shortly after that he grabbed the beer from me. I asked for a refund because my beer was almost full and he denied the refund. I felt the place after that.
