I'm in San Diego for just a few days, from PA. Wanted to spend some time at one small brewery and decided on 3 Punk Ales. So glad I did! Beer was fantastic, as was the service, setting and conversation. Will definitely come back next time I am in the area.
Punk theme bar but never playing punk music. I’ve tried this place several times in HOPES to listen to some punk music and drink a few brews. They’re never playing punk.
Overall, it’s a cool spot to catch a quick beer but if you’re visiting because it’s a punk bar, it’s not.

Been living in Chula Vista for a couple of years and 3 Punk Ales is a staple brewery on 3rd Street. Decent selection of brews, not a huge selection, but if they don't fit your fancy, take a walk down 3rd and you will find something that does.The crew does a good job of keep the vibes right. Honestly, seeing some bad reviews, I can see how this happens. It's a locals place and the vibe can change on who is behind the bar. Definitely seen some "questionable behavior"...
