This place is fire!! All the food here is AMAZING!! I haven’t had anything bad from here. Carlos is very helpful and gives great recommendations from the menu. This is a must go to food truck in San Diego ! They are known for their Birria, which is hands down best Birria I have had. Their consome is loaded as well! It’s a must pair with their Birria tacos ! If you love mariscos, then this is also the place to go. Their Poseidon taco is my favorite ! Lastly, I also recommend their flautas con todo ! I am a huge flautas fan and when I saw they had them I was excited. Pair these also with a consome con todo. All their portions are great ! Easily filled with two tacos but good luck stoping at two. They are all too good. You can’t resist them. Can’t wait to go back and try more things off their menu. The prices are also very good especially for the portions you get.

Good Birria Tacos, ask for ones with everything and they come with pinto beans and onion + cilantro. In the heatwave the parking lot and eating area is an inferno.

La verdad son los peores tacos, te sirven lo que ellos quieren y te cobran lo que ellos quieren son unos rateros! No los recomiendo para nada.

From the looks of it, there’s a handful of people that actually eat from taco food trucks and like it, including the one I just ate at last week - Xolostacos. However, there’s just a lot of things I’m not quite understating about my “dining” experience at this taco truck. Whether it was out of hunger, convenience, supporting a small business, a trend, or maybe the name Xolos, the taco food truck seemed to be a favorable place to eat.

Well, Im just not a fan of taco food trucks parked on city streets.

Questions come to mind:

Aren’t taco food trucks suppose to be inexpensive? Do taco food trucks have expense overhead less than standard restaurants? Are the taco food trucks expenses really forcing them to charge this much? Why are their carne asada tacos and shrimp ceviche prices just as much as it is at a restaurant and they don’t even have nice tables and chairs to sit on?

My first time eating at Xolostacos.
I was trying to keep an open mind. Food order was placed with a guy at the window. Seemed like our food took forever. While waiting, I look around and see benches to sit on… there were lots of them. There were no drinks to offer except for half full containers of self serve fresca drinks without lids, condiment station was scarce but tons of straws available, and the turf had trash all over.

With regard to food, the taco was basic, lacked taste and portioning.
Staff that were inside the truck never came out to check on stock (condiments and napkins) or cleaned up tables and floor.

…and this is why I stick more towards restaurant dining and not towards food trucks on the street.

If I’m desperate and hungry enough, I may try a street food taco truck again…just not Xolostacos on Main & Third 👎

Best freaking taco I’ve had in my life! Not even exaggerating. I’m literally speechless. Stop and drop what you’re doing and go get you a spicy shrimp taco. You won’t regret it!

Had the carnitas and cuerito de cerdo tacos and was eating mostly cartilage and bones than meat. On the other hand, atmosphere and customer service are very good.

It's hard to choose a good location for food trucks, + when We saw this one. We figured we'd try it, literally no flavor, not even with sauce, there agua fresca out in the open, no lid, and self serve god knows what gone in there...

Came to the food truck I got an amazing vibes. Everyone was enjoying their food they have benches outside and you pour your own drinks. Definitely a good time. I was hungry so I told the cashier I’m getting several items. First item I got was the taco that came with shrimp, cheese, Octopus and marlin. So amazing. 2nd taco I got was the Birria and shrimp taco. Super yummy. 3rd taco I got was the 2 quesa Birria tacos which were spicy and big ! Fire ! Then got myself 2 Birria tostadas. Can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu !
