Good location, right off Sunrise Blvd. Plenty of parking. The hostess smiled and held up a finger telling us it would be a minute. She never spoke to us. Within 2 minutes a waiter came and seated us. Menu and decor is fairly typical of a Mexican style place. We were served the usual chips, salsa and beans. We ordered lunch and some drinks. Service was a bit slow but not overly. The food was served hot and tasted good, but definitely not unique. For 2 lunches with drinks prior to tipping the bill was $45. It was a good place, but I probably won't go again.

Fish tacos were horrendous. Grey and smelled fishy. The chili relleno tasted like it just had spaghetti sauce on it. Soggy breading. Nuked. Would not go back. Definitely would not recommend.

This is an excellent Mexican food place. The decor is colorful and fun and the vibe casual. There is full bar and table seating. Service is friendly. I have never been to this restaurant when it wasn't crowded...secret's out this is the best Mexican place around. Thankfully we've never had to wait to get a table. My husband loves their steak fajitas. I love their molcajete. It's expensive but worth it both because it's delicious and I get lunch leftovers the next day. The bar has self serve tortilla chips and salsa bar. Taco Tuesday is particularly crowded but worth it when you taste their homemade tortillas.

We have not dined at El Tapatio for Sundays FABULOUS Brunch in a while. I hate crowds and you should expect to wait if you come at the advertised time of opening. The service provided by Alma has always been excellent. Other servers are available but be patient, it is busy. The entrées are many and very good to excellent. Here is your chance to try all the different Hispanic favorites for a great deal. I'm sure that prices will go up soon. Other buffets may have more selection but it's definitely difficult to match the quality of the entrées. If you haven't tried Brunch, try it! You won't be sorry. For the cost, I don't believe another restaurant could compete.

On our way to Tahoe I was looking for a different place to stop midway. I found el tapatio through Yelp reviews and it looked like a fun place to stop. The restaurant was decorated so festive and there were several rooms you could dine in. When we were seated they immediately brought our chips and salsa which were very good. The menu was huge with so many choices. We ordered our drinks first and they promptly brought them to us. I ordered the special of the day which was a chile relleno and crunchy taco combination with a super generous portion of rice and beans. Hubby had the two fish taco plate which also came with rice and beans. Both dishes were delicious and they served us huge portions. We asked for additional chips and salsa and they brought more right away and didn’t charge for it. The service was excellent and the staff was very friendly. The main person who took our order would talk into a microphone and what we asked for was brought to us pretty quickly. They really paid attention what we needed and we never had to wait long. We had a fun stop on our way to Tahoe and will be returning on our next trip

We had dinner at El Tapatio tonight. Portions are large. Hubby and I both brought half our meal home. I'm picky about my refried beans and rice. Both were very good! The chips were fresh and tortillas are made fresh too. I had the seafood enchilada plate. It was topped with a green sauce and avocado slices. Hubby had the carnitas that comes with guacamole. It was a huge plate! It was very good, too! They served complimentary chips with salsa and bean dip. Bean dip is real good but the salsa tasted like it was out of a jar. Either that or it was made with canned tomato paste. It was still acceptable but just passing in our opinion. Everything else was very good!!! We'll definitely be back.

We were sad to see Chevys close but Now El Take too moved in an brought it's great food with them. Giant Tostadas, High chimichanga s, and the best traditionam deserts. The full bar with plush seats make it a great spot for game day or date night, you can't go wrong.
