This is no doubt one of the most attractive restaurants in the neighborhood. Every time I go there I am exceedingly glad. They maintain their very high level service and the topmost level of dishes they offer. You definitely will enjoy this this restaurant. Highly recommended.

The meals and service were beyond my expectations. We really enjoyed the environment of this place. Extraordinary place to take my family out for lunch.

If there's Kazunori in LA then there's Temaki in West Covina. However, Kazunori is better and cheaper. I love the seaweed served warm and toasted. My top 3 favorites hand roll are: baby scallops, tomago, and crab. Sadly the tuna hand roll have after taste. They didn't charge us for our beer and free shot of pineapple sake. Service is good, very friendly! No need to worry looking for parking not like in Kazunori DTLA.

Good rolls, too bad they had to close down out of business. I might add the shopping plaza that it was located is so so clean, kudos for the person who maintains area!

The art of rolling the perfect piece Nori or seaweed into a cone shaped handheld delight. The result is a carefully crafted piece of edible art that's delicious in its own unique way. This restaurant specializes in Temaki and the flavors took me on a roller coaster ride. I ordered their sampler which had all the rolls you could possibly want. There was very enjoyable rolls and ones that were decent. There was no real presentation but overall the rolls were good. New to the menu was their take on Omakase. It was another curvy ride of flavors. The plate presentation was on point but not all the pieces of sushi matched how it should've tasted. The service was a definite plus but I really wish it went hand in hand with the food. The restaurant is nice and clean and it has a large sushi bar. Overall it's a decent place for a quick bite and that's my take on this hand rolled palace,Peace out

Finally finally finally! A hand roll place and a SUPER great hand roll place opens in the area. Wohoo Temaki is a sushi and hand roll restaurant inside four season plaza in Rowland height, fresh made in front of you then hand it to you right after it made, give a big bite after you got it cuz that crunchy sound makes you OMG. And the Uni pasta, try it if you love Uni! Parking: inside plaza

Temaki: the 626 Kazu Nori and then some. I didn't want to write a review until I tried (almost) everything on the menu, and I have to say this is definitely worth trying if you're in the area if you love handrolls and sushi! Temaki shares the same parking lot as Jazz Cat, Slurpin Ramen, so it can be a pain to find parking during peak hours on the weekends. I originally came here to try their handrolls. Their fish-to-rice proportion is fair, however, depending on who's making it, some rolls are thinner than others. Every time I've come here their fish always tastes fresh. My favorites are the blue crab hand roll (with actual pieces of crab and not just smushy chunks), yellowtail and spicy tuna. They prepare it in front of you, and is made for you to eat right away otherwise the nori (seaweed) gets stuck to the rice and fish. Their rice tastes a lot better than when I first came here - just the right amount of rice vinegar. Yum! I've also tried their wagyu sashimi which is also worth trying at least once. It's 6 raw thinly sliced pieces of melt in your mouth wagyu beef with a garlic ponzu sauce. Finally took advantage of their 15% off their omakase promotion, and it definitely did not disappoint! It's not your traditional omakase where the sushi chef prepares each sushi piece as you eat, but it comes with 3 mini appetizers, 8 pieces of sashimi, broiled fish (we had the black miso cod), 8 pieces of sushi, 1 blue crab handroll, miso soup and dessert (matcha tiramisu and matcha short cake) for around $50 dollars. My favorite was of course, the sushi, and they describe each one they prepare for you. Everything was fresh and prepared well. They also have $5 draft asahi and $3 sapporo!

Had hand rolls for the first time and was blown away by their blue crab version. Tip: Eat their hand rolls right away for that amazing crunch!! PS I love the location + shopping center its located in. Cute water fountain and plenty of parking.

The ingredients were all top notch. We did the hand rolls and the fish was fresh, rice was seasoned perfectly, and seaweed was yummy and crunchy. The restaurant was small and it had 2 TVs so nice relaxed atmosphere. Everyone who serviced us was super friendly. I'd definitely recommend as a place to get hand rolls. Compared to Sugarfish I'd choose Temaki. Less crowded but just as quality. Hopefully, they get a following so they stay around!

Enjoyed the food here! Eating at the bar is better they could serve you quick here if you sit there. The ingredients are fresh and the rice and the seaweed is definitely better than most places. The fish was fresh and the value is there. You can eat comfortably here for like $20/person they have daily sepcials so definitely take a look at it before ordering from the menu. They also have tables for 6 so you can sit pretty big groups pretty easily. I would recommend this spot especially if you're looking for a meal that's not too heavy.

Located in a plaza that has plenty of free parking , they also have underground parking if top level is full. As you walk in they have a few seats at the bar and a few tables in the back . Decided to get a set of rolls and was happy to enjoy , good quality ingredients. Love how they have a very simple menu, so if your looking for something light . This place is a good place to try .

Long overdue update. We've now been back several times and have always been very happy with everything (except the parking but that's not their fault), so they earned their promised bump to a 5. The concept is apparently like Kazunori in DTLA, but if I'm that close to Sushi Gen and it's open I will NEVER eat sushi anywhere else (or Kagaya for shabu shabu or Shojin for vegan - I'm not vegan but Shojin is just that good). So I'm grateful they had this concept here or I would never have taken the chance to try it. The owner is super nice. He remembered us after only our third time here. It seems to be a family operation, and the spouse heard them speaking Cantonese so that means they're our people (one hears a lot more Mandarin around these parts, and almost no Shangainese)! We've never spoken Cantonese to them, so no, they aren't playing favorites with us. One time a very rude woman (albeit probably tired and cranky because she had a baby with her*) insisted they serve her party half an hour before closing because "it says you're open till 10" -- hasn't she ever been to a restaurant where the kitchen closes before their dining room does? -- and the owner graciously seated her party after she chewed out the employee who dared tell her they were done taking orders for the night**. The fish is mostly good (did not care for the spicy tuna but have had and enjoyed everything else -- and it's not like the spicy tuna is bad per se, just not great), and everything tastes fresh, not fishy or previously frozen. Baby scallop (bay scallops) and blue crab were my other least favorite ones. Again not because they were bad. I'm just not a huge fan of the creamy sushi types -- they just feel too heavy imho. The spouse likes them though. My favorites here are the yellowtail, salmon, and toro (tuna belly, not bull, lol). The toro doesnt match up to the real ootoro you can get at Sushi Gen, and it's sometimes not even as good as chuu toro but for $5.25 I can live. Everything is a good deal. We like the 5-roll combo, as the 6th roll in the 6-roll combo is tamago and therefore less good of a deal overall than the 5. Even if you went crazy and ordered one of everything on the menu it would still be cheaper than the bill for a similar amount of sushi at the average SoCal sushi restaurant, even if you only count things east of the "Puente Pause," as the maternal unit likes to call it. I have never encountered them skimping on the fish (and if you want it American-style with hardly any rice at all then at least acknowledge that you want it not the way it's meant to be) -- it's a good ratio. See my photo for proof (as the spouse likes to say, pics so it happened). And if you sit at the bar and eat them right away, the nori is still crisp and delicious instead of sticky or soggy. I've been places where even if you ate them right out of the sushi chef's hand the nori would already be limp. (Fair warning, this is a warm sushi rice place, so the steam makes short work of fresh nori, so you can't dilly dally with the small talk.) The wagyu beef sashimi (pretty sure based on price it has to be American wagyu and not Australian or real Japanese wagyuu) is very marbled and delicious. The garlic ponzu is out of this world but feels like a shame to cover up the flavor of the fancy beef with, so we used it to dip our hand rolls into instead and that was amazeballs. Even more amazing is the owner gave us detailed instructions on how it's made instead of worrying we wouldn't come back if we learned to make it ourselves. The uni special something or other which comes on a Chinese spoon is insane for the price. It even has edible gold on it. Personally I'd rather they omit the gold***. They could still charge the same price and it would still be a steal imho. The uni udon has the wrong kind of udon (see my review of Uzumakiya in San Jose for my ud

Nice classy decor Service is good. I'd come here for meetings. A little than regular sushi places. They don't have them menu or rolls etc. They have the classic hand rolls. They do have toro and uni. Didn't try the uni but the toro was very mediocre Hand rolls are very traditional. Seaweed is nice and crunchy. Set menu as well Not a huge selection of alcohol but not bad. They don't make nigiri its only hand roll and sashimi no nigiri.

Crafted hand roll place in the area. Think Kazunori with an expanded menu. They are offering an omakase with 15% off which comes out to $51/person. It's a good deal for 8 courses and the cuts for the sashimi and sushi is comparable and better than most of the middle end sushi restaurants. You will start with a appetizer trio of raw oyster, monk fish liver and seaweed (more Korean style) Rice is good and fish is processed well. Sea bass, tuna, yellow tail, salmon, giant clam, sea bream and Uni was some of the selection for the evening. How does the hand roll compare to Kazunori? I would have to say pretty close and cheaper price point. The roll is little heavier on the rice, but if you have a bigger appetite definitely will fill u up with 3-5 rolls. The main was a yellow tail collar. Fried well and not dry. Afterwards you'll end the meal with the sushi and move on to miso soup and clean your palette with a slice of yuzu cheesecake or match sponge cake. I prefer the yuzu cheesecake Definitely a place worth checking out, when you're in the area and looking for some fish or sushi. If you just want a dose of Omega 3. At the bar pretty standard beer and sake with a good selection of sake by the bottle with 300/720 ml. Beer special is $5 for draft Asahi and $3 for Sapporo. Happy fishing

Such a value meal! I'm was impressed by quality and quantity of the omakase! This is not a high end sushi restaurant by any means but a perfect "I want some sushi after work" kinda place! They are currently having a discount on the omakase meal now $51 per person (normally $60). The meal is pretty delicious and I left stuffed! It comes with appetizers, sashimi plate, miso soup, hand roll, sushi and dessert! The grilled fish was my favorite. Perfectly cooked with a buttery texture and seasoned well. Usually the giant clams are pretty pricey and they provided few pieces of giant clam sashimi and sushi. The uni was also a generous portion and fresh. The dessert was a choice of matcha cake vs yuzu cheesecake. Both good but yuzu cheesecake was impressively delicious with a balance of creamy and tart. Will be back.
