If you come through Claremont and stopped in at Crème for some pastry, then you’ve actually done our little town right. There’s some pretty cool stuff in Claremont, but if you miss this little bakery, you should have just stayed on the freeway.
Yes, this is not directed at locals, for it’s usually the locals that are already lined up to get a fix every morning. The atmosphere, indeed the smells and sounds at crème are as pleasant as the proprietor—always ready to welcome people with a smile—clearly, she loves what she does. This is all the more evident in every bite of anything you may select to try.
My wife and I or our kids pop in two times a week on average. It is our favorite spot in the village. Miss it, and you’ve missed out.
Vegetarian options: I’m not vegan, and the vegan options are also damn good.

Crème made the most incredible strawberry shortbread cake for my friends birthday! I can’t wait to order from them again!

This Claremont bakery is a delightful spot for fresh, high-quality baked goods. The almond croissants and sourdough bread are standouts, and the friendly staff adds to the welcoming vibe. With a great selection of pastries, bred options, it’s a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth.

So far as I know the best Boulangerie Française you can find in SoCal Inland Empire.
The owner lady speaks French. I didn't engage any conversation, just ordered in French because all items are marked in French.
Sandwich Jambon beurre, it tastes the same as in France. 10/10
Pain aux Raisins, not that good, too much crunchy and oil , it should be a little crunchy outside and very tender inside. 4/10
pain au chocolat , maybe a little less butter , almost the same as in France 8/10
Croissant almond , flat it please then it will be 10/10/, 9/10.
Tarte chocolat , same as in France, except too sweet , -40% sugar will be perfect. 8/10

Wow! I'm not sure why this place has such a high rating! I had a chocolate croissant. Average. I could make a better one at home. Service was laughable. I asked for a mocha with 2% milk. The cashier says, "We have non-fat milk." I say, "Do you have whole milk?" She says, "Yes." I say, "Do you think they she could mix the two, to approximate 2%." At first I thought maybe the cashier wasn't that bright, but as my visit went on, it was clear they just don't care to do anything "out-of-the-ordinary." My croissant was understandably cold, so I asked if it could be warmed up. The response was, "We don't warm things up." No apology, no explanation. Weird! Then I asked if I could have the internet password. "We don't have public internet." I think it would have blown their minds had I asked to use the bathroom. The attitude is one of "we are so perfect, we don't need to do anything different." No, the place ain't all that. P.S. The mocha, for which I had even gotten an additional shot, tasted like nothing.

Crème is one of the best things about Claremont—if you know, you know!
My friends and family love this bakery, and we’ve always raved about their freshly baked bread and amazing customer service. I’ll continue to order every single cake from them without hesitating. Just wish they had more small cut pieces of cake as an option when there is no special occasion, I still crave their cake...
Given their great reputation, it’s no surprise how wonderful they are! I wanted to share my experience while still celebrating everything that makes Crème such a special part of Claremont!

This is a next level experience in baked goods. I visit my Dad who lives in the area. I travel in from NY and load up with her scones ( best ever) banana, lemon, ginger bread loaves… and breads… I’m just happier after leaving this special place. The owners smiling face always greets me.

Horrible service... no one answers the phone nor email. Snooty attitude and the cookie I had... amateur hour. I guess because they are busy they rest on their laurels and I have to admit some of what I have had here in the past has been very good. I guess they have just become complacent and really don't need to impress or grow. This happens in business sometimes. Go elsewhere.

Can’t speak more highly of this amazing Claremont institution!!!!! Everything is delicious from the sandwiches to cinnamon buns. And, the owner is the kindest woman who really has become such a key part of the Claremont community.

A charming little boulangerie bakery in the heart of old town Claremont, California. Great coffee and sandwiches, as well.
