Espiau's is a Claremont village staple and family gem 💎 of mine! For over 15 years we have enjoyed Espiau's Mexican salad with chips and salsa! Every great dating story seemed to start there Mom, Grandma RIP 2024🥺💕 and me! The recipe has never changed and neither has the service or the quality of food! There seems to be a magic passed on to each employee and an inherent culture of familiarity that I always miss know matter where I am! Always amazing every time...
Beer was decent, waitress was nice. But the guac was relatively tasteless and bland. Chicken sandwich seemed frozen with very generic sauce on top. Fries also seemed frozen.

Used to love this place. Went this week, and they had one server for way too many tables. It was hot and muggy in the restaurant... but all that could have been ignored had the food been good. We ordered Espiaus salads, which consisted of a tiny bowl of iceberg lettuce, cheese, and a spoonful of small dry chunks of chicken for $15!!! Definitely won't be going back.
