This was our first time visiting this restaurant, and unfortunately, it wasn’t a great experience. My husband and I ordered the chilaquiles and huevos rancheros. The food came out fairly quickly, but the presentation was underwhelming.
The pinto beans (frijoles de la olla) were dry, and the red rice was hard and tasted like boxed rice and was flavorless . The chilaquiles were just tortilla strips covered in canned enchilada sauce, and the huevos rancheros were essentially the same dish without the chips. The eggs were the only part that was ok.
These are simple, classic Mexican dishes that are usually inexpensive and full of flavor, so it was disappointing to see them done so poorly. We also ordered one Paloma, which was just okay. We paid over $80 which we felt was way overpriced for what we got. Sadly, we won’t be coming back.
I would say I wish I had read the reviews beforehand but that’s a tricky decision since there are lots of high reviews. Not sure how 😔

Fantastic little place! The cool atmosphere with custom art on the walls and tables creates a fun and lively environment. Happy hour is the best! Lexi is so chipper and friendly.

Heard good things about this place. Went for an early dinner on Friday and could not be more pleased. The food was great, service was awesome, and enjoyed the decor.

Karina was an exceptional host. She was friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to help. She took her time walking us through the menu, making sure we understood all the options and felt comfortable with our choices. Her positive energy and thoughtful service made the experience truly enjoyable. Thank you, Karina!

We had lunch here for the first time today. This was the worst Mexican food we've ever had. The chilaquiles was made with thin strips of burnt tortilla chips, a dab of sauce, and two well-done eggs when I asked for over-easy eggs. The rice was dry and flavorless, same for the beans. The pinto beans were like beans from a can. I ate about half because I was hungry and then gave up. My wife's chicken burrito was equally as bad. Made with a dry, stiff tortilla and flavorless ingredients. And, this small burrito is $18!? Crazy. I don't understand the good reviews. Never again. You've been warned, you're welcome.

Yummy foods with good prices

Had the Cali burrito. Guac was good, fries were hot, salsas were good. Protein portion was on the small side and was very dry, definitely not fresh (see pic.) I hate to be that guy but my biggest gripe was the price. One burrito after tax and tip, no drink, was $27.50. Impossible to recommend this at that price point, it is just a burrito at the end of the day and there are dozens of places nearby where you can get the same thing for half the price.

In downtown Claremont. Very nice area to visit. We are in the area often. Sancho's has pretty good mexican food. Inside seating. Large bar. Beans and tacos were very good.

My carnitas taco was a big blob of greasy fat. I was just having a snack giving them a quick try, and I won't be back again. And yes I did call it to the waitress 's attention and she didn't offer to make it right. That's why I won't come back.

Absolutely appalling. I informed Sancho’s Tacos in Claremont about my severe dairy allergy before ordering, yet I ended up in anaphylactic shock after eating there. My tongue and throat was so swollen I could barely breathe last night and all day today and had the full range of allergic reaction, so this was not a cross contamination situation.

When I called to alert the manager, I expected at least a shred of concern or accountability. Instead, I was met with complete indifference!! She dismissed my experience outright, implying I must have eaten something else—because apparently, a customer going into a life-threatening reaction after dining at their establishment is just some kind of coincidence? Her tone was condescending, as if I had called just to waste her time, rather than to warn them about a serious health and safety failure.

This place is a lawsuit waiting to happen. If they handle food anywhere near as carelessly as they handle customer safety and concerns, it’s only a matter of time before someone ends up in an ER—or worse. Avoid at all costs, especially if you have allergies!!!

The rice was not good, the beans had absolutely no flavor just tasted straight out of can. The steak taco was just so sweet and had a lot of hard parts in mine which I had to spit out. The place is really cool , but the food was not it for my family and I. I wish it was more authentic, it would have made it worthy of the prices , but it was just not good. So sorry but defn had to share.
