An absolute must if you’re in the area. This restaurant has a stellar wine list, delicious food, and amazing service. We came to celebrate a friend’s birthday and the staff made it so very special for them. Would absolutely come back!

Have been here twice in the off season with my fiancé and the food is incredible. Fresh and Delicious flavors. We get the Veggie Scramble and share a Banana Split Chia Pudding. Prices are extremely reasonable and you are getting a Five Star quality meal.

The bar is great! Adjacent to the restaurant, which is a Frank Lloyd Right design with gorgeous out door dining. We like the bar, the bar menu is short and sweet! Joe makes an excellent martini! My crave is their cheese burger and crispy fries!Beautiful grounds to walk around afterwards too. It's one of our regular go to places!

Excellent food and attentive staff. The architecture of the building is lovely and there is a great view. We had the Mary's half chicken and the miso glazed halibut. Both were cooked perfectly and tasted delicious.

Made a reservation for Mother's Day brunch. I had looked up their brunch menu online but saw nothing of a special menu for Mother's Day. Arrived at 10:30 and there was no one else in the restaurant. We were seated at a table against the back wall. This is the first thing that ticked me off. 1) I had a reservation, 2) no one else in restaurant. Why didn't they give us a nice table with a view? We sat down and began to look at the menu which was not the brunch menu I saw online, but a special Mother's Day 5 course breakfast at the cost of $77 each. We got up and walked out. We weren't even offered the regular brunch menu. May have stayed if we were. I have eaten at this restaurant before and it is very good, but $77 for breakfast is out of line in my book.

The building is awesome. Frank Lloyd Wright architect! Service was excellent, home made bread and lemon herb butter was excellent.Pumpkin Gnocchi appetizer was great. I had the Cesar salad with Salmon added. Salad was good but the salmon was grilled to long so it was dry. I should have asked for it cooked medium rare. But the server didn’t ask. They also comped us dessert since we were celebrating our anniversary. I would go back.

We were in Truckee California for a Mountain stay, to also meet a 44-year-old Cal Poly SLO alum and her daughter, and to see Quincy and Graeagle. My friend mentioned a newly built Frank Lloyd Wright clubhouse intended for Wisconsin decades ago, no build at Nakoma Lodge and Spa in Greagle. See the pic with the detailed written history. In 1923, FLW developed an architectural concept for the Nakoma Clubhouse at Nakoma Country Club in Madison, Wisconsin and the structure’s inspiration drew from the tee pee shape of the Great Plains Indians. The central dining area is the 60-foot-high Wigwam Room with a massive, four-sided central fireplace, art glass windows, and a 17-foot-high decorative frieze of abstract Indian motifs and hanging lights. Lots of color and what appears to be gold-leaf too! Nearby is a bar, lovely CLEAN restrooms and a gift shop. There are outdoor terrace/gathering spaces off of each exit. We made a lunch reservation on-line and made our way from Truckee to Greagle finding it easily on Waze…we were early and called to move up our reservation…”no problem,’ said Kelly. We arrived, made our way to the entry where Kelly greeted us. We walked around inside, and despite tables near the HUGE central Firepit, we found a desired table adjacent to a window, so all had a side view out…no backs to the lovely mountain views! We were the only people there…a warning, a bad sign? NOPE! The service and attention and the quality of the food were excellent, with huge portions (I took half of my turkey sandwich home) great burgers, French onion soup, hearty game chile, and awesome fries. Kelly offered great non-alcoholic and alcoholic creations tweaked to our requests. Kelly’s co-host was also outstanding: friendly and attentive. What a great find and wonderful start to our adventure. For 4 adults to eat WELL…and enough food to take home for $101 was a welcome value. After lunch, some pics outside and Kelly ran outside to offer her photo support. Then onto Quincy and the best toy shop I have seen in a decade, coupled with amazingly good ice cream. Just be advised, oddly enough, the gift shop is closed for the season…to bad…we were ready to shop for Christmas gifts. WELL WORTH 1-2 HOURS OF YOUR LEISURE TIME!

It was a good timing as there was NO ONE here so it was pretty much a resort to ourselves. We stayed at the Inn at Nakoma, very simple but nice. The staff was friendly, the room was basic (bed was firm but nice, a good size bathroom, a desk area under the tv) a bit noisy in the morning as people are up and moving around (about 7ish) but manageable. 42 rooms and only 17 rooms with people while we were here. The altitude is a bit up the hill, but sure is nice! Basketball and rock climbing indoor, a rec room with pool, shuffle board, and fosball, a “movie theater”. The pool is a good size and the hot tub was nice, bar inside with some other seatings which is nice. Beautiful building. Just odd it’s so separate from the Inn. The main restaurant by the golf area has a beautiful view from it and is nice. Dinner has a select small options but food was good, a bit slow but good, breakfast was much better with good food options! We came for a couple weekend getaway, but it’s also very good for children I believe. Close to lots of trails and outdoor activities. Overall it was nice, not sure if we would stay again since we only live an hour away :)

Great service, good food must try. I highly recommend the pumpkin gnocchi appetizer! Entrees, like the Elk, so delicious!!

How do I say that I had the most amazing sides I've ever had! The purple potatoes and succotash were delicious. I could have made my whole meal just from the sides. The chicken was so-so, a little bit dry as it was white meat. My dinner companion had the Bass which he said was decent. But the dessert was as good as the sides, peaches and berries cobbler ala mode! Yummy

We rented the smallest one bedroom home adjacent to the resort lodge. The most basic of amenities were not provided; coffee, hair dryer, working night stand lights and outlets, Direct TV, soap..etc. etc. We could not sleep for the first two nights due to the noise from a whistling A/C, hot water heater going on and off all night located inside the bedroom closet, 3' from the head of the bed. Bedroom blinds would not close. Deck outside was warped and splintered. Finally found the Electrical panel behind a door, so was able to shut power off to the A/C, water heater, and hot tub so we could sleep through the night. No response whatsoever from either the general manager nor customer service staff to both emails and phone calls to address our dissatisfaction.

We stayed at the inn and ate 4 or 5 meals here. It was hit or miss. I think I sent two different meals back, but other meals were excellent like the elk and the ribeye. Service can be slow. Beautiful building worth great views.

Came for a Sunday night dinner, great food, service and best views in the sierras! We got the clams, short rib ragu, elk, and cobbler and enjoyed them all.
