“Millie's was a big part of our incredible stay in Graeagle! Each day Mrs. Peggy made us a delicious sugar-free vanilla latte and was incredibly welcoming. She gave us great suggestions on what to do and where to eat. Knowing we were not from the area she encouraged us to watch out for black ice without being condescending since we were there right after Christmas. Her homemade chocolates traveled home very well. My wife remarked how beautiful they were and my kids said it was the best peanut butter cup they had ever tasted. My family loves Graeagle. We plan to be back and will definitely stop by Millie's again!”
“The food was high quality, very flavorful, and tasty! Restaurant was well-kept, very clean. The staff is exceptionally friendly! We’ve been back several times and will continue to support a great restaurant.”
“The Brewing Lair is a fun outdoor hang out and brewery nestled off CA-70. They host a regular rotation of ales and IPA (tending on the hoppy side mostly but I'd really enjoy seeing some experimentation). The barkeeps are pretty chill and perhaps most impressive are the wares in the gift hut like the handmade growlers and mugs. Awesome items for the trip home! There's a good amount of outdoor space perfect for a warm afternoon in the sun or shade. An open grassy area is complimented with a music stage frequently hosting a range of talent from across the West Coast. They have disc golf course surrounding the grounds though it can be challenging to locate through the bushes.”
“For my wife's birthday we decided to give Mountain Pizza a try. We ordered a large Hawaiian and a large combo. Both were fantastic. All the ingredients were fresh, and the crust was perfectly done. Also had the cheese cake and tiramiasu and these were also great. The owner was very pleasant and the facility was very clean. The pizza exceeded our expectations.”
“I want to give Nicole's a big thumbs up great tri tip panini and service. My first time trying their food. I'm picky and only usually eat from one other place in town Ive tried all the local spots and Now it will be nicoles because they don't put one piece of meat on your sandwich lol also brought out a bacon strip for my spoiled little dog that was outside with me waiting for our order”
“This place was absolutely amazing! The food was so tasty and the service I received from Diogo made this experience even better. I highly recommend trying this spot for some authentic Mexican food.”
“I first came here 3 years ago, and visited for the second time today. Had a delicious meal and excellent service both times. It's hard to find good food in this part of the Sierras, and this place is definitely a gem.”
“Beautiful spot to get coffee in the morning in Graeagle. The women working was lovely and we chatted to her while she was making our coffee. They had a wide variety of milks and different types of drinks. The only con is the shop is small, only 2 people can stand and wait inside at a time. You can walk around the pond located nearby while you sip your coffee! It’s a lovely experience.”
“Fun place to spend a evening playing pool and meeting new people. Everyone is so friendly and the bartender is wonderful ! A must if you are staying for a week or a weekend . Fun times !!!”
“Brother Brian, God's been waiting and finally took you over his knee. You will be dearly missed! For all those you've helped throughout the years, family, friends,Veterans,Dogs and low down scoundrels. All hail you and your heart that was just to big for this earth.Ride on Brother”
“The Iron Door Restaurant not only excels in its culinary offerings but also in its commitment to providing a memorable dining experience. The attentive and knowledgeable staff ensures that guests feel welcomed and well cared for throughout their visit, adding an extra touch of hospitality to the already outstanding food!”
“Pleasant staff, good service, well prepared varied enough options with outdoor dining available and almost it’s impossible to not have a view in Graeagle so we are very pleased to have dined here this morning breakfast.”
“What a hidden gem. This place reminds me of a campground for adults. Music, campfire and great wine and beer. Now, this is not a restaurant, so make sure to eat first and / or bring something special to cook on the outside BBQ.Wheelchair accessibility: Sure”
“We stopped by Sunday night after my daughter's basketball tournament. Megan was so sweet and helpful. The food was better than we expected. We got 3 burgers with cheese skirts, fries, chicken tenders, and drinks. Everyone enjoyed the food. we will definitely be back.”
“Server Taylor was fantastic! Food was good...$30 steak that came with French fries in a basket thing was a bit odd as the steak was looking lonely being the only item on the plate lol. Drinks were good. The Bavarian pretzel was missing the Bavarian part....so we will try something different next time. Glad to have it as an option in an area with few choices.”
“Great bar and a true place to sip the flavor of the town. If your as lucky as we were you'll meet local legend Garlic Greg. Although he made no claims he's somthing like the unofficial mayor of the area everyone seemed to know him and he helped me and my wife out to our car ( knee surgery and a couple margaritas). A true local hero! Rob the bartender was also great between the two of them we were able to learn so much more about this awesome small town. Look forward to seeing them both again and their great margaritas!”
“We had breakfast and the food was top notch; very delicious. Estevan (the owner/manager/waiter) was very attentive and probably the friendliest person I've ever met. I liked him instantly. He always smiled. You could see in his eyes he is genuinely a really nice man. If you're ever in Portola, you must eat here. Thank you Estevan!”
“I've gotten it 3 times now the 1st time the only thing wrong was the rice being undercooked. Second time the bourbon chicken was dry. 3rd time gave the rice a second chance went half and half and it was still undercooked and the bourbon chicken was dry again. Other then small things this place is good.”
“It's the best and the people are so nice and have good patience and I think that there should be more good reviews for this place and the food is great they always recognize me and SUPER chatty I love it there”
“We got married at Twenty Mile House this past July, and visited Graeagle for their wedding fair in April. In total, we probably ate here about 5 times and have nothing but great things to say. It has a very local feel and you feel like family, even just having gone there once. Their food is great, plenty of seating, outdoor space is nice. We had large groups and small and they were always more than accommodating. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Graeagle!”
“This place is hidden on the Chalet View grounds, so don't hesitate to ask for directions in the hotel lobby. Also, if you see a "closed for private party" sign and the parking lot is fairly empty, I'd still stop in and see if the brewery is open. When we were there they had that sign posted but the event wasn't for two more days. Also, when we visited they only had one Eureka Peak beer on tap and the rest were from other breweries. So really this is a beer bar and restaurant and not a brewery tasting room.”
“I would love to give this place a 5 star review the customer service is amazing and the food is also so good. However Kandace the waitress or cook not sure what her position is but her son started flipping us off and threatening me my boyfriend and our 1 1/2 year old daughter. Unfortunately I won’t be able to come back to this restaurant until she’s no longer an employee due to our safety but because she lets her son harass customers. once she’s gone I’d love to come back and continue to enjoy the food because it’s very good. if it wasn’t for this woman and her son I’d return at least once a week a the least”
“Been coming here for years during winter after snowmobiling. They take pride in their food and it's better than most bar and grills. Would give 5 stars but they have limited days they are open during winter.”
“awesome pizza love their pepperoni and calzones are good too the staff is always friendly and sweet. the pizza toppings are generous.we have only lived here a month and it's our favorite place in town so far.”
“An absolute must if you’re in the area. This restaurant has a stellar wine list, delicious food, and amazing service. We came to celebrate a friend’s birthday and the staff made it so very special for them. Would absolutely come back!”
