This place cranks! I ordered the tri tip sando w spicy bbq sauce and added pickles and coleslaw. I also ordered the brisket sando with pickles, coleslaw, and jalapenos. They were absolutely delicious!

I love the main Harris Ranch Restaurant and had high expectations of their bbq take out. But I was extremely disappointed in the brisket and the beans. They were completely devoid of ANY seasoning or flavor. Thank god for the bbq sauce and table salt!!
Maybe I’m just very spoiled as I regularly get to eat THE best brisket at Heritage BBQ in San Juan Capistrano !!

It’s a nice place for BBQ during road trip.
The brisket is so tender and juicy.

Staff was great, but I got food poisoning from the coleslaw. The brisket is great, but I’m throwing up and on the toilet for almost an hour now.

A few years back, we used to stop here all the time on long trips for diesel and a great bite to eat. Stopped in again after a long time hoping to enjoy this place once again just to see all of the diesel fuel islands and truck parking gone. Replaced by POS electric car charging stations. Ya'll can kiss my rear. Never coming back here ever again.

We waited in line probably 10 minutes, but food was prepared right in front of you and everything was fresh and delicious. Outdoor seating area was pleasant, though the TV was glitchy and annoying. Nice sized portions, decent pricing, and definitely somewhere we will go back to. You’re just inside a mini market, so there’s no real ambience or atmosphere, and service was efficient but nothing spectacular.

Great quality Texas style brisket. Tender, juicy and seasoned perfectly. Tried it with their original BBQ sauce. Even better.

Always a good place to stop on the I5. Called it 30 miles before stopped for fuel and restrooms, And food was ready. Great tritip sandwich

After half an hour wait in the line, I got my half pound of beef brisket which are all corner pieces in triangle shape, a tri tip taco salad without avocado (no warning when I order and no substitute offers when they prepare the food either), and a decent garden salad. Does the food taste ok? Yeah! Worth the wait? No!

This was a disappointing experience, especially given our long history of positive visits to Harris Ranch Resort. The steakhouse has always been a regular and reliable stop for our family when traveling along Highway 5.

During this visit, we chose to try Harris Ranch BBQ for the first time and ordered a brisket and tri-tip. One of the plates served consisted mostly of finely chopped scraps, and the portion size was noticeably small. At the time of service, the staff member carving the meat had a fresh, intact cut available, yet our plate did not reflect that.

As first-time customers at the BBQ counter, we were initially unsure whether this was standard practice. However, upon seeing the plate, my husband commented that it resembled leftovers, which raised concerns about consistency and value.

Considering the price—nearly $20—the quality and portion were not acceptable. This experience significantly diminished our confidence in Harris Ranch BBQ and has unfortunately affected our willingness to return in the future.

I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant. When I first heard that this is a very famous BBQ restaurant, I was really excited to try it. I ordered the Tri tip and they gave me meat in scraps. It made me feel like I am eating leftovers, so I searched for reviews, and it shows that the Tri tip is supposed to be served in slices, not scraps. Not only did they give me meat scraps, but they charged me the same amount as the Tri tip on the menu! I am so not going back, and I really really don't recommend you guys to go there.

Harris Ranch has been one of our stops along the 5 for decades, this was our first time stopping at their To-Go restaurant. Food looked amazing and the setup was perfect, when you don't have time to sit down at their more formal restaurant, their To-Go is perfect. Unfortunately I didn't take pictures of what we purchased, I will next time. Here's what we did get, I ordered the Vegetarian chili, which was absolutely delicious, full of flavor, my youngest daughter had the Cheesey Potatoes, which were also very flavorful, and my hubby had the Tri Tip with Mac & Cheese. Portions were perfect, they offer different sizes for most items, which is nice, so we were all able to get exactly what we wanted!!! We will definitely be coming back for more.
