The Shanghai chowmein is some of the best chowmein in the Bay Area. I am sad I haven’t tried it sooner, but I know where I am going for chowmein now. The noodles are so juicy and the flavor is amazing! So good!
Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options on the menu.

Their steamed buns and xiaolongbao are really delicious. I personally recommend the crabmeat xiaolongbao. The cooking heat is just right, the ingredients are fresh, the meal is served quickly, and the dining environment is quite comfortable. I don’t want to go home to cook it after a long day. As for food, you can fill your stomach without spending a lot of money.

Price increase twice now since they opened here. Quite spendy now. Creekside dim sum in Walnut Creek might be a better option with these newer prices.

good:
Squid, Suimai , rice noodles
Average: shrimp dumplings, skin too thick
String bean : Tear off the pedicle to make it tenderer and should don’t use corn starch
You order and pay at cashier , they bring for you

This is a good quick place, the food is excellent for the price. The grilled squid was perfectly done. The fried shrimp is light but the perfect ratio of meat to breading that most places get wrong.

Best food I’ve had in a long time. Me, my husband, and his two parents, came to celebrate his mom’s bday. We ordered the fried shrimp, egg and chicken fried rice, chicken and corn pot stickers, red bean bun, golden black bun, shang hai dumpling, and chow mein noodles, all for only $89. And the portions were huge! It filled up all 4 of us and we still had food leftover to take home. Absolutely reasonable prices for amazing portions and the taste is immaculate. My favorite was the chicken and pork pot stickers and the fried rice but all of it was amazing. I’m not a big fan of red bean but theirs tastes like chocolate and strawberry jam but not overly sweet it hits the spot perfectly. I’d definitely come here again so freaking good! Deserves 100/100!! No complains and they are very welcoming! And they speak Mandarin(: Thank you for the amazing food and service Bao Bao! ❤️

Small little dumpling house. Very friendly and efficient service. Even though there’s no table service—you order at the counter—they do have workers walking around to remove empty dishes and bringing food as then are prepared. It’s a very kid/family friendly place.

My family LOVES dumplings, so this place has been a total godsend for us. Not only is it super close to our part of WC, but the food is consistently delicious. Things that are supposed to be crispy are always crispy. Things that are supposed to be soft and melty are always soft and melty. The sauces are great and the portion sizes are large (for a dumpling place). Also, with a typical (non-fancy) dinner for a family of 4 costing almost $100 at most places (including the simple burger place next door), this is also a very reasonably priced meal. Last, the service is phenomenal. They are fast, polite, friendly, and have never made a mistake with out order (and we have been here like 15 times). The restaurant, itself, is simple, but clean and orderly. It's a simple restaurant with simple, but delicious food at a reasonable price. In 2024, that is pretty damn rare, so this is a winner all around for us!

We ordered delivery when I had guests over - pan fried dumplings were gobbled up in like 5 seconds & I realize I should have ordered way more. They were visually perfect nice pan fried scorch at the bottom -juicy inside & tasty.
Was super glad the vegetarian options were delicious & enjoyed by everyone even the non vegetarians.
Vegetarian options: We had veggie bao & v Ghirardelli’s dumplings & they were delicious

If you're on the hunt for exceptional xiao long bao and sheng jian bao, look no further than 88 Baobao. This gem offers some of the best dumplings you'll find.
The xiao long bao, or soup dumplings, are a true highlight. The thin, delicate wrapper holds a generous amount of rich, flavorful broth and tender meat filling. Each bite is an explosion of taste, perfectly balancing savory and umami notes.
The sheng jian bao is equally impressive. These pan-fried buns have a wonderfully crispy bottom that gives way to a soft, fluffy top. The juicy filling inside is perfectly seasoned, making them a must-try.
Beyond the standout dumplings, 88 Baobao provides a cozy atmosphere and friendly service, ensuring a delightful dining experience. Whether you're a dumpling enthusiast or a first-timer, this place will not disappoint. Highly recommended!

Great place for a quick meal. Super casual. Ate there for the first time and had the beef rolls, wonton dumplings in chili oil, and the calamari. All 3 dishes were so delicious. Love the low prices also. Can’t wait to come back and try other dishes. Employees were super nice and helpful.

Fabulous Dumplings all around! Tasty, chewy, flavorful, especially the chowmein, which is perfect ? Ask about the recommended perfect bite for each dumpling! Use of fresh ginger, vinegar, hot oil and garlic soy sauce all when used as recommended enhanced each bite and raised the food experience to such a high a very tasty level!! Worth the time for a nice lunch or busy dinner service because the place can get packed?
I do wish they had more drink options, and not just a cooler of cans. Also, serving beer and wine would make this place an incredible small bite location to grab a fresh hot meal and a beer or glass of wine, which would enhance the restaurant that much more. Still highly recommend for your dumpling cravings ?
