Some of the BEST halal food i’ve had in the east bay area in my two months living here so food. Food was delicious and so fresh! Meat was fall off the bones and the people working there gave a very “at-home” quality food and vibe.

I recently dined at the Afghan cuisine restaurant in Concord, CA, and it was an outstanding experience. The food was absolutely amazing. We started with the Double Chicken Kabob, and the chicken was perfectly seasoned and incredibly flavorful. The Gormay Gosh was a highlight, with the lamb being tender and juicy, complemented by their special house sauce that added a delicious depth of flavor.
We also tried the Narunj Pilav, which had a unique taste. The lamb was well done, slow-cooked with the bone, adding a rich and satisfying flavor. However, the standout dish for me was the Chapli. It was cooked to perfection—juicy, spicy, and so delicious that I couldn’t resist ordering it again. Overall, the dining experience was fantastic, and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Afghan cuisine.

Ordered lamb over rice, all I got was lamb skin, bones and more rice than anything ? and pricey $19 on top of that. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THAT PLACE.

A close friend wanted to meet here for dinner and said they loved the place. When I first arrived at the unassumg location in a stripall by a 7-11, my expectations were mixed. The restaurant is very clean looking, with basic furnishing and decor you might see in a typical cafe. This is where is was surprised. The staff were so friendly and accommodating that it felt almost like being invited to someone's he for a holiday celebration. We were greeted immediately upon entering and offered seating. We were brought water without asking and were offered help with explanations of the menu which had beautiful photos of the dishes. I ordered some of the best kebobs I've had in my life. Other members had lamb dishes, naan bread, sides and specially made drinks. We all ended up sharing from each other's dishes as we were saying 'you have to try this! "Even though this restaurant is a long drive from home, I plan to return here at least a few times a year as a special treat. Love it!
Parking: Nose in parking. shared lot with other businesses.

Good stuff! The star rating is purely for the type and grade of restaurant this is.As we’ve always had this place on the raider being its neighbor, we finally made it here and met the owner.Service was pleasant, and we received enough attention throughout the meal course. Great, open seating with the view on the Monument Boulevard, that was bright and comfortable. The outstanding Afghani food, and even better the desserts with saffron tea made this experience complete throughout. Would highly recommend Narunj Palow with thinly sliced dates.Turned out to be a little bit pricier than I thought it would be for a lunch, however, it really did worth it.
