I took my family to DJ’s Bistro after a few years (been going there for 20 years or so). The quality of food has gone down like everywhere else after Covid. Svíčková didn’t taste like Svíčková. Knedlíky were so hard that we couldn’t cut them with a knife. Spetzles were too crispy, overdone. The only dish that was good was Schnitzel with potato salad. We were disappointed about our experience.

I worked with Tereza to cater our Oktoberfest party. The portions were HUGE. They delivered and went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Tereza loaned us serving trays and tailored the menu to our event. We got so many inquiries and compliments on the food all night. Even the leftovers were good. People really loved the mushroom gravy on the pork schnitzel and the warm german potato salad. I would 100% recommend and work with DJs again. What a great find!

We love spaetzle but it was very bland and tasteless. Schnitzel was ok. Service was very poor. We saw a lot of microwave use to heat up food.

Cute small place with some solid food. My wife loved the tripe soup. The potato salad is amazing and the schnitzel is huge. You can get a lunch portion at dinner.

It tastes and feels like I'm sitting in a cozy central European family run cafe. Nice hardy dishes and beers, just like in the old country. Relaxed no rush atmosphere and friendly service. I had the beef goulash, tender and savory sauce with homemade spàzele. My wife had a very fine Wienerschnitzel with jãger sauce, she took half home, it's a very generous size. The dessert was the icing on the cake, a very fine homemade apple strudel. Fair prices too. Four adults and two kids for lunch, around $150 with beers and tip. Not bad.

DJ's is a nice German/Czech/Polish restaurant. Very authentic food. German food is rustic and filling. The portions are huge, you will definitely have leftovers. I would definitely come here again! Great place to try something different. Substitutions were allowed, so that's a plus.Dinner comes with soup or salad, the lentil soup w/ sausage was good. The Wienerschnitzel was delicious and fried to perfection. The spaetzle are great, but different than the usual boiled spaeztle. These seem to be pan fried with bacon. Dumplings aren't your usual type either, more bready, but also good. The Schweinebraten (roast pork) was good, and the sauerkraut is excellent.Food is cooked to order so might be slower than expected, but worth the wait. Table service is great. Bread/butter is available as well.Great german and czech beers on tap: Spaten, Pilsner-Urquell, others.

Been coming here for over 20 years, and it only gets better! When you're in the mood for some wonderful European satisfying food and drink, this is the place! Very generous portions of deliciousness at a reasonable price!

Best German / Czech food in the Bay Area!! Updating this as I am genuinely always happy to get a well made jaeger schnitzel (you can hear them pound it out in the kitchen!) and the mushroom sauce and spatzle. It’s in a little strip mall that you would overlook, but this family makes me miss my Bavarian roots. Go here and support a true local eatery. Don’t be in a rush, grab a beer and be patient and relax.

This is a great local Czech place, great food, delicious beer and friendly, hidden in a strip mall, don't allow this to make you miss out.

Great place. I give 4 stars for service because it’s an authentic German/European style restaurant & the fifth star is earned by the patron. Go in with an attitude in a hurry and you’ll not be a good customer and worth the stress. If you want to stop in for a Togo order, grab a spot at the bar, say hello, order a beer or non alcoholic beer. Wait for a menu and wait to order. They’ll take amazing care of you. Huge portion sizes for the proteins. Yum yum.

Dietary restrictions: Not easy for gluten free. Your safe bet is to ask and stick with the sausages/brat/meat plates. Plenty of gf sides. Red cabbage is a good one.

Food excellant, service slowish but to be expected , fresh cooked meals and the place was packed on a Saturday. Great dinner and beer but were there for about 2 hours. Yes it was worth it, just was not expecting to be there so long. So be prepared for authentic food and enjoy yourselves. Our server was attentive and was alot of fun.
