Racially Charged, Unprofessional Behavior by Management – June 21, 2025
I had one of the most disturbing experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant at the Eureka! in Concord on Friday, June 21 around 1:00 PM. My wife and I had been regulars here since the location opened, often enjoying their fig burgers, beers, and mimosas. So when we planned a special event with 26 guests, we chose this restaurant. That was a mistake.
We confirmed our party size ahead of time, were told we would be accommodated, and showed up expecting a great afternoon. Instead, we were met with an aggressive, hostile confrontation by the General Manager, Laura Rosenzweig. When I calmly inquired about seating and asked her to lower her voice in front of my family, she yelled louder, shouting “You don’t talk to me like that!” in full earshot of other diners and guests 30+ feet away.
When I asked for her name and the corporate contact information to file a complaint, she claimed there was none. She offered excuses about not being the one who answered the phone and completely refused to de-escalate the situation. A simple apology and a professional tone would have resolved everything—but instead, she chose to have a racially charged meltdown.
As a business owner, I would never tolerate my staff treating loyal customers like this. And frankly, I believe if I were a white man, I would’ve been treated very differently. That’s not an assumption—it’s lived experience. This behavior was unacceptable.
We left and took our party—and our $1,500 tab—to another restaurant that showed us the service Eureka! failed to deliver.
Unless Eureka! Restaurant Group responds with accountability, apology, and staff retraining, I’ll be encouraging others to take their business elsewhere. If you value dignity, professionalism, and respect, think twice before dining at Eureka! Concord.

Good food, good service, good beer, a bit loud for my taste. You might have to flag someone down if you need anything extra. The drinks are good. I love the spicy chicken sandwich and my kids love the poke stack. My teenager once ate two of them! Oh and the happy hour is legit good.

Visited this restaurant Sunday for a date night with my girlfriend. I like how the hours are open late, beats the odds of looking for a restaurant after a movie date at the Veranda theaters. Food and drinks were great. We enjoyed our shareable appetizer, Mac N’ Cheese Balls and Dry Rub Wings. For our mains, I tried the Al Pastor Fish Tacos and my girl had the served all day Breakfast Burrito w/ choice of tater tots. Food was delicious! Didn’t get to snap a pic of our cocktails but we ordered the Wild Child and Tequila Paloma. Honestly, I had a great dinner night. Service was excellent. Winter, thank you for serving us without a doubt. Great restaurant to dine late in the evening.

We always look forward to dining here, especially for the incredible burgers that never disappoint. This time, my husband decided to try the New York steak for the first time, and it was absolutely delicious . Perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavor, it exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a great spot for a relaxing dinner. We can’t wait to come back and explore more of the menu!

It would be great to have your bartender fill up my drink instead of talking to the only other customer at the bar. Having to ask to have your drink filled with only 2 people at the bar and 3 customers sitting at a table with the server taking care of them no drink orders coming in is ridiculous. Got the double smash burger lettuce wrapped. Fantastic flavor, quite small for a $19 burger. French fries had great flavor cooked perfectly. Burger was way over cooked for medium. The bartender Charlie that came on after 4pm was a much better bartender.
Dietary restrictions: I have a wheat allergy. Was able to have my burger lettuce wrapped and their French fries are wheat free as well.

Beer and liquor are watered down. Got three different craft beers that I was familiar with and they all tasted watered down. Not sure how you water down a beer on tap but this spot figured it out. Gin and tonic also tasted watered down. 4 drinks and not a hint of a buzz that I was certainly expecting. Seared ahi salad was a typical mediocre chain restaurant dish. Asked the bartender to “slide in” a few tomatoes and got charged extra for roasted tomatoes which I most certainly did not want. $50 night even after a $10 discount. Won’t be back.
Our burgers were great. Husband didn't care for the cole slaw with sliced almonds, so I shared my fries with him, and he shared his slaw with me.

I visit this place frequently. I absolutely love the atmosphere, the food and most of all the CUSTOMER SERVICE. We are always met with great servers who make us feel right at home. As a person of color that is very refreshing. Been going here for years and even visited the Vegas location. Look forward to going here for many more years to come.

Entered the restaurant and stood there waiting to be seated. Continued standing there waiting to be seated for 5 minutes. 2 employees were present, both of them saw me and continued to do other things. Wasn't very busy at 320pm on a Wednesday, maybe 10 patrons in total. So I left.
