The spicy pork didn't taste like gochujang at all. It was very greasy, and tasted primarily of grease. I think it was a bad day because it seems like a popular restaurant and I wouldn't expect this from them.

It’s a bummer that the price went up. I had chicken Del pot bibimbap, and my partner had the spicy pork lunch special with tofu soup, comes with white rice. You can choose your spice level. I love that everything came with a Delpot to keep it hot.
The Banchan was really good, though they didn’t offer a refill this time, which used to do. Maybe only one server was working.
They had K-pop plying on the three screens, but the music from the speaker didn’t match the videos. Still, food was great overall.

Parking: Clear out your car just in case before you leave.

The rose tteok-bokki is really bad… tastes like sweet kraft mac n cheese. The combo with soup is pretty good but everything is rather pricey

We celebrated Chinese new year at Tang Jip Korean Restaurant in Concord and, to tell you the truth, had an overall average experience. The food was decent, with some highlights like the hot stone bibimbap, which was flavorful and satisfying (mmmm, with that crust). The banchan was also a nice touch, with a few of the marinades standing out as particularly tasty.

However, the service was pretty dry. The only standout was the polite robot serving the tables, which was an interesting touch, but it didn’t make up for the lack of personal interaction. The interior was very casual, almost old-school, which didn’t add much to the atmosphere.

One strange thing was that the check never came to our table, so we had to go to the register to pay. Overall, it was a fine meal, but nothing that would make me rush back.

We have visited this restaurant three times and always enjoyed the food. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the flavors are great, which is why we were willing to drive 30 minutes to dine here. Unfortunately, our most recent visit left us feeling disappointed and disrespected due to unacceptable service.

From the beginning, we felt neglected. As non-Koreans, we noticed that the level of attention we received was very different from what others seemed to experience. When we asked for our side dishes to be refilled, the server simply took our plates away and never came back with anything. Later, when my friend asked for the check, he mispoke and said, “we want to check out.” Instead of responding professionally, the waitress laughed loudly at him in a rude and condescending manner.

This kind of treatment is deeply upsetting. A minor language misstep or accent should never be a reason for discrimination or disrespect. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who isn’t Korean or doesn’t speak perfect English, as it seems you won’t receive the same courtesy or service.

While we have genuinely enjoyed the food here in the past, this experience has completely overshadowed the positive memories and left a lasting negative impression.

I took my mom to Tang Jip for what we thought would be a nice dinner. We walked in at 8:30 PM, aware that they closed at 9 PM, but being respectful, I even offered a 20% tip upfront to show appreciation for them accommodating us. What we experienced, however, was the most disrespectful and rude service I've ever encountered.

The waiter, Kyle, immediately made us feel unwelcome. When we ordered a Korean hot pot, instead of simply taking the order, he had the nerve to say, "That’s not the kind of food you can finish quickly," as if we were inconveniencing him by ordering. We brushed it off and reassured him we’d do our best, but things went downhill fast.

At exactly 9 PM, right as we were finishing our meal, Kyle stormed over with takeout boxes, interrupting us and demanding, "Can you pack up your food? We’re closing." No courtesy, no politeness—just plain rude. Still, I stayed calm and kindly asked if he could help us pack up, since we had a lot of food. His response? "I’m not getting paid to help you box the food," followed by rolling his eyes and throwing a spoon into our hot pot with an attitude that left my mom in shock. Yes, you read that right—THREW the spoon into the pot.

When I told him to show some respect, he had the audacity to argue with me, right in front of my mom, trying to kick us out without so much as an apology. The manager? Absolutely useless. Instead of stepping in and correcting his staff’s unprofessional behavior, the manager just shrugged and made excuses, saying Kyle was "new" and didn’t know any better. What kind of place lets their employees treat paying customers like this and gets away with a weak excuse?

It’s beyond infuriating that a restaurant would tolerate such blatant disrespect toward customers. I’ve never seen anything like it. Do yourself a favor—skip this place. Tang Jip clearly doesn’t care about their customers, and the disrespectful staff will ruin what could’ve been a good meal.

First off, BOSSAM!!!

Located in Willow Pass is a new spot that features Tang (Tang Jip lightly translated into Broth House). And while I wanted to try their Galbitang and other soups, my family was craving Traditional Korean dishes.

First off, the inside is modern and clean. Love the simplicity and minimalism. KPOP plays on the screen up top. Love the vibe.

Servers were good, although on a Sunday night, severely under-staffed. I would normally dock them down for the lack of service we received, but I could tell, from the young ones to the mama-san's, they were hustling. No one was slacking.

All the food was delicious. The items that stood out though was the Tteok-Bokki in Rose Sauce. Holy sh*t. I've ever had it this way, and it is amazing.

The bossam is the first I've had in the East bay that isn't dry AF. Delicious. And I could tell by the delivery robot, a lot of people were ordering it.

Lastly, the banchan. I'm a big believer in the less they give you, the better the banchan tastes. That is the truth here. Only about 5 items, but they were all delicious.

I 100% will be back, especially to try their soup when I visit the bay in the winter for Christmas.

It got packed on Sunday around 6pm...so be ready.

Newly opened Korean restaurant on busy First Street in Livermore. Lots of choices including the traditional Korean/Chinese food like jjajangmyun ?. Tasted better than average but little pricey. Overall great experience and service is good. Will definitely come back to try other menu.
