Nothing special about this place. It’s small, dark, and crowded. The fish was fresh. The rice wasn’t sticky so it was annoying to eat bc it crumbled when trying to eat the sushi. The menu was unusually simple without many options. Do not come here looking for anything unique. There are NO gluten free options except to eat all food without any sauce, not even gluten free soy sauce.

I ordered sushi to go and it was very mediocre. Also, despite it being a large order they provided only 1 pair of chopsticks and minimal soy sauce. Other Sugarfish locations are great but this one is not nearly as good.

Exceptionally mediocre. One of those places that thinks it knows better than you do about how to eat Sushi. They bring it out in the wrong order and it smells like low tide at the beach. I brought back leftovers and even my dog wouldn’t eat them.

Ordered the trust me for a birthday dinner.
Came here pretty often in the past but this was extra disorganized tonight, enough to at least pause my visits for the foreseeable future.

Told we were next in line but 4 additional parties were sat ahead of us still.
Never offered a refill on my drink or water the whole dinner.

Forgot one of my plates for my meal. Took over 1hr and 15 minutes to get served our last plate.
Not the ideal way to spend a birthday dinner

Really disappointed

Besides long wait times depending on when you go. It’s completely worth it if you love sushi. It’s our go to for our family with our go to being nozawa trust me option.

Although it’s a bit of a drive from Garden Grove, it was definitely worth it. The sushi was incredibly fresh and flavorful, especially the “Trust Me” menu, which gave us a perfect mix of rolls, sashimi, and nigiri.

The restaurant is clean and modern, with attentive service and a calm atmosphere. Even though it gets busy, the staff kept things moving smoothly.

Overall, Sugarfish is a must-visit if you’re looking for high-quality sushi that’s simple, fresh, and satisfying — well worth the extra drive.
