Honestly the most delicious Latin cuisine I’ve had in ages. Antonio was a fantastic server and kudos to the fantastic chef!

This place SCAMS customers. Been here 3 times. First time eating here, my girlfriend reviewed the receipt after we left. We were charged for 4 beers… we didn’t drink at dinner. Figured it was an error, it happens no biggy. Second time going, before paying, we reviewed our bill, same thing.. we were charged for 3 cocktails we never ordered. Manager said it was a mistake. THIRD time going, once again… after reviewing our bill, we were charged for 4 drinks we never ordered… this place scams people who don’t review their bills and pay without looking. Shady practice. Also food was horrible and over cooked.

Maiz Cocina absolutely exceeded my expectations. The chicken mole was perfectly prepared — tender, flavorful, and so rich that it practically melted apart with every bite. The carnitas were equally impressive — juicy, crisp on the edges, and seasoned to perfection. And the steak fajitas? Hands down the best I’ve had in years. The steak was so tender it could be cut with a butter knife, and every bite was bursting with flavor.

You can taste the care and craftsmanship in every dish. The presentation was beautiful, the portions were generous, and the entire meal felt like a celebration of authentic Mexican cuisine done right.

If you’re anywhere near Corona, do yourself a favor and eat here. Maiz Cocina is the real deal — comfort, flavor, and artistry all in one plate.

There website shows the Burrito Modajo for $13.00. When the bill came, they charged $18.72. When I questioned the server, he claimed that the website is outdated and hasn't been updated for years! Personally, I think they should have honored the published price ($5.72 increase is pretty steep). Also, always have to ask for refills on drinks. Overall, I'd recommend somewhere else to go...

Upscaled versions of traditional Mexican dishes from a variety of locales. It's not a cheap street food vendor, this place has a chef who really thought through these recipes.

For example, I got the Chile Colorado (Chihuahua), the first Specialty on the menu. I typically use this dish to determine a Mexican Restaurant's quality. Instead of cheap meat in the sauce, Maiz Cocina uses short rib braised until it shreds in the sauce. Elegant.

We also got mole (Puebla) enchiladas. And the kid ordered rack of lamb with mole and it was really good. The cream of Jalapeño soup was worth the trip alone. Beans and rice were flavorful. Tortillas were fresh and HOT.

We had one waiter who reminded us of Ricardo Montalbán in a good way running the whole place and bar, and he was excellent for everyone we could tell. We were late for dinner but never rushed.

Best tasting fajitas around. Cooked in a beautiful, rich tomato sauce that took it to the next level. These guys know what they are doing!

Hard shell taco was worse than taco bell.
Tinga was very Americanized on the flavor.
And prices are high for an average place..

I had been here several years ago and was a little bit disappointed. Some friends and I stopped here for lunch and I absolutely was impressed. The server was great. The ceviche was absolutely delicious. I wish the tables were a little bit further apart for privacy, but it's a small place so that's doable. They will definitely be back again!
